I am a Christain conservative and I also got burned on the site. I quit on the third day and demanded my money back and they assured me it was in the works.
"Daddy knows best" is truly a good description. It is a big hoax and if it is run by "Christian Conservatives", I'd love to show up at their meeting and give them a piece of my mind.
They are not just against liberals. They are for their rigid rules and they show no flexibility at all. | |

Posted: 4/30/2006 9:55:44 AM | As far as 'free trial' goes, beware of ANY site offering ANY service, when they immediately need a credit card or check card# to activate your "free" trial. Again, this applies to a multitude of internet entities, not just dating sites. Expect your account to be charged. Yes, in most cases you can get your CC company or bank to do a chargeback,if you have the time to deal with the hassle.
As far as the effectiveness(or lack thereof) of any dating site, hey it's a crapshoot.So is meeting people at bars, church, the bingo hall...WHEREVER!! What I will give matchcom and yahoo credit for, in my own case, is making some wonderful (platonic) friends and a couple of fairly longrunning "epenpal" contacts. Oh yeah there have been dates, a few "almost relationships"(LOL) but by and large I hold the friendships and penpals to be the better value so far...

Posted: 4/30/2006 10:13:29 AM | i was on eharmony for a while as well....i consider myself a fairly bright woman. several times they matched me with men they couldn't even spell simple words. my favorite was when they matched me to a country bumpkin....his hero in life was his friend bubba because "he gets all the hot chicks and he drives a "bitc@in camero"

Posted: 6/3/2006 11:49:20 AM | I agree with grog27. I also had "issues" with eharmony. I signed up for the 3 month plan, no problem. I spent the 45 minutes to an hour filling out the questionaire. Met a few nice men (not much of a selection for men in the state of Alaska on there). I wasn't really happy with the way things were going.
I sent many emails asking to cancel my membership at the end of the 3 months and they continued to try billing my credit card.
I was thankful that the CC was working with me after I proved that I had on several occasions asked them to cancel my membership.
It took me close to 2 months to get everything straight.
Stay away!!! It was about the money, not their statement of trying to help others find a connection. | |

Kind of made me wonder what was "wrong" with me........well, here I am still single, 2 years later..........maybe there was something to that after all.  | |

I DID post, last week, that CBS Entertainment Tonight featured a big story on how GREAT their site is and how SUCCESSFUL. HUH? WTF?!?
I think Warren has big bucks invested in CBS...what other reasons would inspire them to tout EHarmony and not give all the other sites the same courtesy? He also is very big and powerfully involved in a large Fundamentalist group out of Colorado. He is a smart cookie. Predator.  | |

I've had better luck on LoveHappens.com which is $20 for 6 months then its "paid-up" and you can still contact people just the same (as a full member). I've met women on their averaged out to be 2 or 3/month, partially because I was working 10-12 hours 6 days/week at my job. | |

So those are not success stories, and now I know why the people are so ugly, the ask for "average" people in the audtions lol!! I find there are alot more attractive guys on POF than any of the sites where I signed up but never paid, Thank goodness. I tried Match Perect Match E harmony and even Military Friends, but never got one guy I'd consider dating so I just never paid a $. | |
