I would insist on paying.. but she would have to be able to enjoy where we went.. and I wouldn't feel she owed me anything.

When I dated...first date was always coffee.......It doesnt cost much..so most times I pay,
I never ask her to split the bill..if she offers I accept...
there was this lady once who was half an hour late..she felt so guilty she offered to pay it all
including the shepperds pie...

I would always offer to split the tab. I do with my friends. Depending on the situation, if he is a Gentleman, I can tell and I do like my doors held and for a man to hold my arm as we walk. I like being a woman and being treated like one! Doesn't mean I am a prissy gal all the time but for a date, yes, unless we are 4-wheeling and then treat me like an equal. I'll keep up!
