There is something that at base is biologically appealing in a trim body, something that bypasses all logical thought and goes directly to the subcortex. Much the same as muscles on a man do to a woman..

Forty pounds excess weight is a serious health/weight issue, and is medically defined as "obese".

think your opinion here represents the worst of the media fed ideology that men ( and too often women ) are conned into thinking is fact and is what someone should use as gauge to date worthy

how smooth your skin is or how big your ass is is much less interesting or relevant by 40 , 50 and 60 ...when there are just so many real issues to talk about

Contrary to the wisdom often cited by plump ladies in POF fora, Marilyn Monroe was not a voluptuous size 16, she was size 8, and even in her plumper times, she didn't exceed size 10.
In other words, although she was heavier than today's superslim models, she fared very well, compared to most women on POF who list their body type as "average".

Marilyn Monroe was 5'2 and weighed 140 pounds at her height of her career - not a size 8 guys LOL

I don't think anyone posting was referring to feeling envy about Marilyn Monroe - the discussion was about our perception of her size which no one seems to know for sure

Another thing that no-one has mentioned is sugar. Once you're over 40 you really need to eliminate it from your diet because it causes all sorts of problems including wrinkles.

Kathleen Turner quipped that as a woman gets older she has to choose between her face and her azz.

I would tend to believe her dressmaker's measurements and my movie recollections rather than your numbers - you just shrank her almost 4 inches. Many women would get delirious by getting the 4".

I was focussed on the face because most unappealing physical features can be improved, unless varicose veins are quite apparent. I would support a woman's right to choose whatever natural products she chose to apply, but not the makeup crap from a generation ago.

I admittedly used it too in my foolish & vain youth, but realised that attempts to cover up skin damage were best replaced by more efficient cleansing techniques. I just don't find a painted lady attractive, although the extra lashes and eyelash hues do enhance the attraction of already compelling face, and my eyes are less likely to droop to the cleavage!
