Obviously I notice a man's body first.. That tells me how well he takes care of it. The next thing I look at is the condition of his skin and nails.. Then I move on from there.

However in one case I really found it difficult to move beyond his eyes.. However I did get a preview of his fit body while he was walking towards me..

There is something that at base is biologically appealing in a trim body, something that bypasses all logical thought and goes directly to the subcortex. Much the same as muscles on a man do to a woman..


There were many parts in your post that really annoyed me and truthfully I found much of it quite offensive and inaccurate ... but this one ^^^^ was incredibly arrogant . I cannot see how you presume to speak for anyone but yourself in this statement - many men find fuller figured women very attractive and if truth be told and you want to pull out words biological ,appealing and subcortex...you might want to keep in mind that more studies show men are attracted to women in a primitive way who look like they will bear children well ...wider hips ...full breasts and extra meat on their bones

I think it is safe to say no one accused Marilyn Monroe of being trim or slim or slender ..by today's standards she would be considered full figured and more than likely some "good" doctor would have her convinced she was 30 pounds overweight and tell her she was much more likely to need an extra sized wheelchair and be high risk for accidents if she was ever hospitalized



If one were to walk through any hospital maternity ward, one would see nearly all new mothers to be trim, with very few even a small few pounds overweight.


^^^^^^^ in reality if one were to walk through a maternity ward you would see women who had given birth still having distended tummies ....packing a good 20 pounds and not exactly dancing in the halls. I have had 5 babies and I was never witness to a slim , slender ,trim no extra pounds new mom - ridiculous statement


Forty pounds excess weight is a serious health/weight issue, and is medically defined as "obese".


^^^ oh please , most women who are 40 pounds overweight hardly show it and most have 20 pounds of boobs that are not going anywhere - 30 to 40 pounds is not obese. To judge attraction buy10's and 20's in the pounds department is incredibly superficial and ha no bearing on "who" a person may be or what they may have to offer...

Men like what turns them on. So do we. Media has nothing to do with it. Fat has never been fashionable or sexy. It is just not all that visually attractive. You can scream "Rubenesque" til the cows come home. Those women in Rubens' paintings were not obese, were very young and beautiful and he was a genius artist.

Indeed she was a trim size 8 and she had slim legs to die for. She managed to be so well endowed and not carry fat elsewhere on her body .. I think that is one of the reasons people think she was voluptuous..

I think most models I see today are a size 4.. At least the ones I am seeing going down the runways here.. Super skinny does not look good and it not at all healthy for you.. Your body fat should be in the proper range.. Unfortunately not all super models are healthy.

Something to keep in mind though is how others view you. They may think you have no body fat on you, simply because they are not used to seeing someone within the lower end of what is in fact the proper range.

Indeed there are some men that certainly do prefer extra padding..

Different strokes for different folks, that is what makes the world go round.

men and women like all different body types - but studies showed women in a primitive sense were attracted to features such as a full square jaw and broad shoulders ...men in a primitive way were found to look for features equated with being healthy , strong in child bearing and able to persevere in harsh conditions ...hence fuller breasted , wider hips and over all fuller bodied women

I think some people here have a bit of a skewered view of what full figured or an extra 30 or 40 pounds looks like - and you are in good company with the poster I quoted. There is very little point in hashing out an issue like this that so many people will not see eye to eye on

According to measurements from Marilyn Monroe's dressmaker:
Height: 5 feet, 5½ inches
Weight: 118-140 pounds
Bust: 35-37 inches
Waist: 22-23 inches
Hips: 35-36 inches
Bra size: 36D

So at her lowest weight 118 pounds puts her 8 pounds more than I am.. However she was an inch and half taller than I am.. I am guessing she was a size 6 because I am a size 4..

Now at her heaviest probably a size 10

Look at the shape of her though.. Talk about about a perfect hourglass figure.. No waist to speak of and hips equal her bust line..

I think you are misunderstanding my idea of fuller figured - I am not talking about round as you are tall or everything shakes when you move - ass an ax handle wide

I am in a sense fuller figured but I have a small waist and my hips match my bust - very hourglass. I am a DD38 which can make me seem more voluptuous than I am but at 5'5 regardless of my weight ( which has changed up and down a bit over my adulthood ) I am always curvy and my hair is waist length so there is no hiding my butt which I have never had any complaints about ;)

FriendlyFreeSpirit - I looked at your pics and you definitely have hips - not over weight or more than you should have but you have them ....I would say you are average well built but not slim or skinny

Catsmeow - I looked at your pics and your a very slim small boned person so no , you would prob not have any extra curves ...and again ..nothing wrong with that ..my point is not we should all be fat or look the same ...but that health is important but weight as a number is too vague and women are hard enough on themselves without ideas about what overweight for someone is ...

and yes .I have always been complimented on my sarcastic humor - thanks

my point still is if as a woman you did not think his post was a bit loopy ...well regardless of body size we have nothing in common in terms of our like mindedness in this issue -- and really what does it matter .....people are people and everyone has different ideas and thats all good .....I am off to take my dog for a run by the beach and then go eat a donut ...or not

All I can say - if I see an "average" woman with extra 30 or 40 lbs means, I just move on.

I have to strongly disagree 40 pound weight gain on anyone is goign to show. I know when I was pregnant with my twins I gained about that and oh yeah it showed.

I have no clue why MM was brought in to this.. She was not a huge woman she had curves what slays me is she was also physically fit. We all know muscle mass is going to weigh out more than fat mass. So what her all time high is actually a moot point.

Some of us are built the way we are bulit. I have maintained my weight range from 100- 112. I am short I bounce back and forth all the time.

The size of clothing depends on designers that is a fact. What one says is a size 2 in actualility will be a up to a size 6 elsewhere.

I personally think each person needs to embrace who and what we are, I dont' think any of us are spring chickens anymore. We are pretty much what we are going to be "whatever that is".

Bottomline if a person doesn't like their azz do something about it. IF you like it then don't who really cares if someone else doesn't I know I sure dont' care if someone l ikes my azz or not. For that matter if I get wrinkles I don't care about that either.

I am 50 years old in real life I have been hit on men that thought I was in their age group early 30's. I know they did since when I told them I was 49..They were so damn emabarassed that they were stumbling over themselves to get out of the situation. Who really cares does it matter in the scheme of things nope not abit.

What is going to matter is what I got to offer that is on the inside and I think sometimes
we all forget that along the way.

Doesn't matter how great we loook if we have an ugly spirit.

I was focussed on the face because most unappealing physical features can be improved, unless varicose veins are quite apparent. I would support a woman's right to choose whatever natural products she chose to apply, but not the makeup crap from a generation ago. I admittedly used it too in my foolish & vain youth, but realised that attempts to cover up skin damage were best replaced by more efficient cleansing techniques. I just don't find a painted lady attractive, although the extra lashes and eyelash hues do enhance the attraction of already compelling face, and my eyes are less likely to droop to the cleavage! As for the body... I suppose I was trained to avoid any scrutiny below the neckline as rude, and only comment on the efficiency of the body when in motion...

I find it amusing that the OP is using a comment made by Kathleen Turner who doesn't have a smooth face or a slim body. I acknowledge that at one time she was an extremely attractive woman but she doesn't exactly fit the topic so what was the point of using her as a reference???

I am aging and I'll admit I'm nervous about what it means. My body looks pretty good for mid forties and I'm exercising every day without being crazy about it. I watch what I eat and drink plenty of water. I do believe the sun is a huge problem regarding wrinkles and aging your skin. Another thing that no-one has mentioned is sugar. Once you're over 40 you really need to eliminate it from your diet because it causes all sorts of problems including wrinkles.

Packaging? Gift wrapping? The best wrapping on an empty box make it any better? A head is not just a place to grow hair? The overall package and it`s contents. I don`t view myself as shallow, sure I would like a lady to look like Sharon Stone, but if she doesn`t have the other pieces to the puzzle it means nothing.

please provide a link to a peer-reviewed study in a reputable scientific/medical journal that indicates that sugar causes wrinkles.

Well today I took a trip back into time literally. I met the first man that I ever fell in love with for lunch.....I was nervous I hadn't seen him for 30yrs so to say I hadn't changed would be to say the least....he showed up and all I could see was his blue eyes and his happy smile.........I loved it. He looked just the same. Yes their were differences like he was heavier.....but that isn't what I noticed about him. His face was still beautiful to me......and he told me I was beautiful and he was proud of me....I loved it. So time has changed us but it also hasn't ........depends on how you look at it....
I think sometimes we make to much of aging. The heart is still young and happy whenever we are with someone that makes us feel special.......and I hate the clique that I felt young and desired today........Yeah Me........

All that debate about MM, her weight, height , measurements, and beauty.
Most all would agree that the woman was beautiful. What is so overwhelming sad is that she died alone and, by the words of those closest to her, extremely depressed and broken hearted. Her beautiful body and flawless face not only did not find her true love. it may have even set the stage for never finding real love.
Being attracted to someone is one thing, the ability to truly love is another.
I want a confident man, trust worthy, honest , strong in convection, intelligent, passionate and has the ability to fall in love. A man that would be able to stand by me and comfort if I am one of the 1 in 8 that gets breast cancer and loses my breast and my health, I will take him in what ever package. I in my career I have seen packages, despite all the healthy living in the world, irreparably damaged in a matter of seconds.

Op,Dame Barbara Cartland also said a similar thing (as i recall) about a woman choosing to keep her Face OR her Body,and,in Babs' case,she'd chosen her face....even if she wore ghoulish pink foundation,LOL!
Me? Im relatively wrinkle free and have great skin (good genes) BUT,im carrying extra weight (tum/hips) but im all in proportion and am healthy.
In a man,im always attracted to his face,eyes and smile.
Whatever his body is doesnt significantly matter to *me*.

You got it right about Marilyn, Thecatsmeow ~ she weighed 140 in Some Like it Hot and considered herself fat. She was slimmed down at the time of her death and some of the last photos taken of her were semi nude that showed her trim body ~ very small with a flat stomach

I do not think a whole lot of women wear the makeup crap from a generation ago.. Things have come a long way since then. I also think that as a woman ages she tends to wear very little makeup.. I know if I spend more than 3 minutes pn my face than I am spending too long a time.

More efficient cleansing techniques as well as a healthy diet and daily skin care.. Later for the false eyelashes nothing false here and do not have to worry about his eyes drooping to my cleavage either cause he will be in for a little disappointment..
