When angels fall returning
As stars grace the night
Pray for those upon the wind
We miss the fallen held within
Our children from on high
Sleep well in heaven's light

| A Day In September Posted: 3/26/2010 7:54:09 AM | My Heart Knows No Distance
Many miles and grand spaces are between us Though my heart knows no distance As my soul fly's forever You carry a smile given to few As your eyes speak of pleasures and passionate pastimes I look upon the one so far away Your picture and the sadness proclaimed The distant field and the loveliness shown

| A Day In September Posted: 3/27/2010 7:05:12 AM | A Secret Young Love
Braving darkness, discovery, disownment and death No sadness burdens as shadow and moonlight Dark green glades and temperate hollows reveal One lone rider flying swiftly As forest and evening glisten with rain A sound is whispered The creaking of saddle and snorting of beast A second rider tall and slender Swings down and kisses yon maiden She caresses and leans in Feeling his arms surrounding her body He presses her downward His cloak all around her A playtime for lovers entwined For owl and midnight are the only witness The wind and the winter careening towards them Though they are unaware as legends and love come together When fathers lament as daughters have vanished and fallen She pulls away and mounts Driving hard for home Before daybreaks reveals Her bed sheets unruffled And her eyes full of passion

| A Day In September Posted: 3/28/2010 9:38:11 AM | The Seasons of Life
I have always found happiness Since my dawning days Birth stands as the coming of spring The youthful exercise with fertile ideas and welcomed laughter The knowledge that my future was boundless My families love with atonement unnecessary As the summer waned and the leaves began to swirl in color The belief that I too was changing and the shades were not as brilliant With oak and maple the forest boughs hung heavy Hibernation was ahead as we kept from winter's door Bundled and blessed the cloak is pulled tightly As the clock continues the race and my image migrates to snow Then frost takes our shining self and presses us to a dimmer standing The meek and humble trace the tracks of one's life With muddy roads and ox on the tether This is how the seasons turn as we emerge from the icy talons We break the frozen pattern as lasting spring resumes Summers run together along ridges of pain and pleasure Till like the clock that is wound before nightfall My inner spring winds down as the chime grows quiet Elder pine and fallen leafs The green moss grown and loons heard in the distance All else is spirit passing As I was born I know that I must soon wither away The burden over as the hush is on the vineyard The grapes are absent as my time is sipped from the glass No bramble bee or cakes of honey so I may continue The finish is sadness as the sudden chase is over Crickets chirping as the night falls slowly silent And all that is left is my memory held dear

| A Day In September Posted: 3/29/2010 6:36:06 AM | Patience
Sometimes to achieve The important point of one's life Requires patience We all grow and learn at our destined pace No one can judge What time-table we follow Some are slowed by self-doubt Or life's cruel joke Others by self-destructive behavior That mar our existence and bring mountains to rubble Though we can't display horror and despair While requesting laughter Allow the fledgling sparrow a chance to fly Or the injured dove a chance to heal As we give ourselves the right to change and reform For isn't life just that A constant evolving motion Never still No river remains in place Unless frozen by cold temps and times We are movement Unless we chain ourselves Or allow others to shackle us away We should be judged so As long as growth or change Or the will for such is present No conclusion is granted As no book is finished Until the final page No life is complete Till the final breath Is taken

| A Day In September Posted: 3/30/2010 7:08:51 AM | Goodbye My Love
She is lost on life's way A girl from a younger time Who stayed with me through love I lament as part of me is missing Of pain foretold this bears no name It's earth dug low and lonely The casket marked and lowered My angel sleeps not with me tonight but adrift in earth's dear realm I thought I cried when she passed Tears beyond recognition Though nothing aches as much as the pain of her lying there alone My baby too far away to hold The dirt between and what is left of me Ages as I am held to a bitter time The last days left to serve till my prison ends and she awaits A native of my youthful hour To dance the dance of hopes reunion Through eons glanced and kisses kept she is back where I desire If love is measured and held by such She will stay with me and never leave My love till always and beyond Forever as one

| A Day In September Posted: 3/31/2010 8:54:56 AM | Never A Patriot
We hear the rumble The turmoil When mobs behave as ruin tossed And the beast does brutal rule The gun and might that attempts to lead From hell this nightmare speaks The hate and vicious brew All strength to those who vote the truth The ballot box and liberty Though justice can be blind She is never deaf and hears the rumbling The tirade of vulgar against this flag No friend am I of national borders This chess piece match that plagues the world Nations joust and taunt and dare The wicked force they all hold to With military might While their people starve This threat of war With budget battles and defense allotments The dirty politics and those sent off to die If you dislike or disagree with the goverment Vote your will with ballot strong No gun or weapon bare against This flag held dear For we speak proudly of Midway And quietly of Pearl The fight up through Italy And the men at Okinawa A history of honor from the brave That will never be disgraced by the mob We love this land far too much And those who fought and died for her To disgrace their memory would be wrong So very wrong False patriot

| A Day In September Posted: 4/1/2010 7:49:33 AM | Without Her
The highway lonely A dismal and dark entry The still and quiet way Only regrets un-removed and choices made in anguish Once we were golden The streets paved so with wonders seen As radiant beauty and her smile perfection The girl who cared for all The weak and frail The downcast rebel with a weary heart She was my strength The pleasure post or a windswept cure My gift retained but she fell lost in others Grim from the hurt and never more I wish she were here to hold my thoughts and bath my worries To follow stars and to ride the wind determined I dreamt of travels Milestones and merriment The ocean blue and evenings of love But my dear drifted away An epic cut short A love sadly lost

| A Day In September Posted: 4/2/2010 6:30:42 AM | Loyalties To The Devil
I've played the deuce The winning hand Or so I thought so wise The master choice The feeble minds All hatred so inclined To join the ranks of wrong instead The edge of sanity Against the truth The somber truth As hell it waits for me For fear brings choices not allowed While concience strikes the few The curse of death yes all around Was enough for me to prove Though all the while within my soul I know the pain and truth That all are equal in our eyes The small, the weak, the simple youth No master race to chase No loyalties so misplaced I've played the devil The losing hand Or so I found unwise The nazi rat The bigot pig Humanity's demise

| A Day In September Posted: 4/3/2010 7:17:04 AM | Wine To My Lips
Passionate thoughts persuade me along When lust becomes reality As a moan is the bell that sounds Until this hovel becomes a home As a frosty silence rings with delight While the air is the canvas we dream upon I am with hope that adult's can play as children before And lessons learned are taken deeply My taste for thee is wine to my lips A hilltop guarded For slave and all a night remembered.

| A Day In September Posted: 4/5/2010 8:11:14 AM | Always Together
When I desire will you be there The purpose of love possessed A wishful concert combined I am so proud of what you are A destined woman of mercy well traveled A quiet reason to love you gently Though mortal I am for you till death rings I am the lonely that drifts in your heart For I have given you what we were as one together A loving voice as you envision us always and smile within My love will survive the ages and pass to an ideal story As my ashes will weep for you alone

| A Day In September Posted: 4/6/2010 7:06:31 AM | A First Crush
Her Auburn hair With a romantic sent unfamilar I gaze upon her fawn like eyes Who was this apparition She appeared during a time of awakening No childhood pal Or sweetheart future Somewhere between a first kiss And artful love intrepid The overwhelming temptation Overshadowed normal childhood games We lingered till dusk A summer always near her Obvious carefree teenagers Her body never shared A regret of life The fall coming on fast With school sending us off I yearned for her till Time ran it's course And other young girls Soon took her place But memories are like blankets Covering our youth And she was the first The emotion still holds firm Even today I can recall the fertile feelings As childhood resides In past thougths and glances shared The shy doe stands very still As a nervous young buck approaches

| A Day In September Posted: 4/7/2010 7:57:43 AM | Battles Of Long Ago
Watch the mist as silent cannon Sit and stare at the valley shown Years lost coldly and anger dearly Told by walls made of stone A fortress gallant to behold here The echo halls are empty still Our victory remains uncertain As decades pass upon this hill No maiden high in the tower Gone for ages long denied Souless creatures then came calling To take and rape and sail the tide Trust no walls of bare protection Hidden in the country line Hope for all can be given Still the battles rage inside Put aside your childish wishes To have and hold and power gained No wicked path should you be riding Just happiness along a peaceful lane For cities strong are made to crumble And death from battle is still the same For peace is the road we all should follow The price of war is beyond a name.
|
| A Day In September Posted: 4/8/2010 7:09:38 AM | Believe
From history's terror I hear the cries The violent past The hateful lies A world at war with victim's cold The ash and death Your neighbor sold What can you say about muder at play The eager boys who murdered away Nazi death from labor camp plumes The rise of the Reich the utter doom No hint of justice when all is depravity The twelve long years to reclaim sanity I grieve the tortured dead and lost I've thought of the evil and the cost Though I have learned for every deadly deed The good that came from people who simply believed The child who was found and fed at night The hunted well hidden from the storm trooper's sight The cry for freedom so close to death's door Where resistance fanned the underground lore Belief gave people hope to suvive each day To rest with wolves as gentle lambs bay To plant the seeds of peace and gracious truth The world held hostage by a gang of sadistic fools Nothing is greater than a trusted and promised idea True belief can conquer a demon or sooth a nation's ravaged soul Though the arch-angel Adolph He believed too we know How sadly we know.

| A Day In September Posted: 4/9/2010 6:28:02 AM | Challenger
Dare the blue With warrior drawn A proud and valiant reach Seven brave souls Soar to the heights Of loving sorrow so deep With eternity waiting Our precious in flight Slipped the bonds of earth A calling ever higher For the brave who inspire Questing stars since birth Forever onward Challenger

| A Day In September Posted: 4/10/2010 6:21:48 AM | Falling
On copper forest As maple and oak part October sun The flaming red and rust to amber Past withers this cold cycle As foliage falls under winter scene Leaves to musk and earth The season clean remembers spring With the coming days of May beholding

| A Day In September Posted: 4/11/2010 9:28:02 AM | Your Song
Have you fallen so far With the light of love dimmed so That I cannot lead you home What we had was eternal The song from within me is yours I recall the smiles and our life full of love Then you forced us apart and that tragedy showed in me The victim held silent and banished away But I have always held your memory To watch you chose another after the feelings between us Is much more than hurtful It is heartbreak forever
|
| A Day In September Posted: 4/12/2010 7:28:23 AM | On The Wind
Give me depth So I may sail onward For sailing is my release Roaring quickly past the deadly forties Rare ghost unchallenged on emerald sea Tossed on man's ancient oceans Whales sing thee love songs We are the lucky Storm ravaged and seasoned Rum sodden but tested Mere guest on nature's voyage Travelers under heavens vaulted ceiling The lights of northern skies show beauty beyond imagine Calm the true Pacific enough to drive men to madness Ponder while Atlantic swells Tell of greater men's courage in reverent whispered tones We are the believers Neptune's fancy Poseidon's palace The classic journey Let sails unfurl Our course always to windward it seems Hard alee to lands unknown

| A Day In September Posted: 4/13/2010 7:05:57 AM | The Lady Fair
A princess royal whose pain we all shared Hidden by a publicly silent black veil She stood straight and tall and amazed us all The regal figure who lost her bow Shot down in anger and remembered in grief The world mourned her fallen A leader charmed though not to all The sanctity of marriage and freedom of choice Destroyed and belittled with bullets and blood Her pink top stained red on that wicked flight The Texan who raised his hand and took up the sword As she stood dazed and frozen in time In black and white
|
| A Day In September Posted: 4/15/2010 9:20:41 AM | The Burning Pit
Icy stares From master with snarling beast Brutal beatings lay to spirits failing No haven for the hungry masses An ugly truth behind the madness When the agressor views neighbor as subhuman What kindness is given to the slaughtered beast of burden The frail and hopeless the captive victim Swill and lice offer suffering's tale With eternity waitng the ghosted souls The ultimate shame as shadows cross humanity's voice Outside the gate so very near The burning pit Kicking and alive they are pitifully tossed Mothers pleading Babies screaming the horror As the specter of damnation lingers The crimes continued A commandant with machine guns primed The targets near as the kill begins The ash and waste with chimneys burning and chambers of ghastly ending As death becomes the escape The only escape And solace is left to the guilty living Undeserved
|
| A Day In September Posted: 4/20/2010 8:38:38 AM | Sunday Bloody Sunday
Selma's shame the racist fools The police who charged and broke the rule Busted heads with protester's bled The harm and ugly up ahead Horses charge as clubs do fly The voice of forever against the lie Freedom chased for three hundred years To many hanged we cry the tears Why do men hate and fear The liberty of others near A simple reason I understand Not man enough to lend a hand Prejudice is fear and sin The scared and running held within Martin led and understood The times a changing for the good Too bad the gangs of cities today Don't understand the fight that day They misunderstood the sacrifice The disgrace of today's city life No one marched so crack is sold The downcast streets so long cold Respect the fight and live your life Leave the streets to the night and do what's right Their brave memory deserves that At least
|
| A Day In September Posted: 4/20/2010 8:55:17 AM | This Uncivil War
With war I am cold No mother's love near me for comfort Or fires rhythm allows me escape Two years short of twenty-five I am surrounded by fifty dead soon haunted Fearing my days will end as musket ball turns my final page Will my spirit travel home through a Carolina mist As a gentle breeze carries the scent of Georgia pine over Sherman's lost boys Cherry blossoms spelled Washington's gloom as Lincoln holds true our nations sorrow March thy army blue while gray tells thy rebel glory Cavalry hidden at the woodland edge await the charge they pray will never come As flags are held clean blood and ash wash the faces of phantoms yet flown A nation barely of age steadied itself against wars great hardships While farm fields went unplanted Husbands and sons were blown across the river Styx Their women left behind To weep the silent cry

| A Day In September Posted: 4/20/2010 9:11:44 AM | Endless War
I grew up in a time When young men would die We sacrificed them so easily and would speak of the pride Of fighting for your country with God's saving grace Not in our own backyard but in a far distant place Now many years later nothing has changed Our boys fight and die thought the reasons are not the same We started in Afghanistan to avenge the Towers that fell To kill all the terrorist and send them straight to hell We ship our boys to Iraq with martyrs still to blame For weapons of mass destruction hidden by Saddam Hussein The anguish and the terror as the roadside bombs explode The mothers who are left alone without any dear hope We press the vicious attack as they do the same We send in more troops like gas to the flame The fire of war will only burn if we throw on more fuel We must admit our own mistakes and live by one simple rule To stop killing all our children that is very plain to see As their mothers also cry for they too believe That we do not belong on their sacred land What really is so sad is both sides took a stand To kill all the enemies and drive hatred from this place To come home victorious Again with God's saving grace We are sometimes very stubborn and we don't want to lose To admit our wrong mistakes and the paths that we chose So many have fallen from the Towers and the war When its all finally over will we remember what it was for For revenge is a dish that is better served cold And terrorist man men will kill us we are told Is it terrorist fighters that we really should fear Or the lying polititians on this it's pretty clear Not to believe all the lies and to question those who lead To love all the world's people And elect leaders we can believe

| A Day In September Posted: 4/21/2010 7:52:15 AM | Every September
For long lonely years We have mourned and cried The pain and grief from that evil time As pictures are held up every year We can't forget the fear Too close so near The height and flames It's deadly name From all above no one remains When angels taunted all around As this became such holy ground The twisted logic The total blame From life's mad choices Most are the same A gift from God We do proclaim Then shoot their children Blood wet as rain This must end We all do pray To find our peace From this September day
