Life's close relations wait for no one The simple wave or hello spoken Others spark a casual beginning When a friend is the greatest gift
I have passed on adventure percieved The voyage sailed or cross town venture These are trips I gave up easily No remorse for miles not followed
People are a different story The way not explored Or the friendship not accepted These I do regret
Everyone of us listens to a voice within The moral compass or heartfelt word When I have ignored these I am remorseful
A child who was left behind The years show mistakes uncommon When women were more often chosen Or followed like a fool so blind
It wasn't vanity or fortune valued Just a quest for love that never arrived The journey private and simple
Driving towards a vision that proved to be illusion While true love and friendship vanished behind the gate of poor choice All that remains is verse written and doubtful pleasures I have retained The value of which lingers sadly on my life
The tears that are amassed are of little solace to what I have missed The gentle smile of youth and the casual distraction of life back then As we age towards an ending our vision fades Though our perception of what we should value in life becomes razor sharp
When the wind whips wildly pay attention to what is whispered The slender voice or sudden urge No dam salvation will be waiting If you ignore the voice within that knows the truth and awaits an answer

| A Day In September Posted: 4/22/2010 7:05:16 AM | The Bitter End
The South has mercifully fallen What has God and man brought forth Grieving piles of charcoal Stately dwellings burned with chimneys stark and staring A chilling quiet when men and boys are no more Dear memory fading of happier times and fields of plenty With little to eat and hearts hung low The is the bitter root of gallantry lost No Dixie tune joyous Only wishful remorse mixed with hunger What was a land of chosen gentry Is now lined with the stain of sorrow My fathers's labor lost and withered down Like stalks following the harvest only stubble bare And the hard earth with tears upon the shadow of our existence If we could return to avoid this fate To reshape destiny from the ruin we have wrought The tale revised The Southern stratum re-sung Could we rise above our eventual downfall To once again be the land of chivalry anointed Of plantations gleaming with cattle and crops An air of Southern satisfaction Where the question of states rights are boulders formed And not water as the illusion of federal law held Or would our chivalrous egos Cast us down the same path unfortunate The sacred cause forever lost An era of plenty gravely ended Time is no friend to a people to proud or arrogance waiting This pain is ours of the making A landscape forever changed and a people marked and scared No Southern retreat through time Yet the mornful battles are finally over

| A Day In September Posted: 4/22/2010 7:23:14 AM | The Selfish Beast
Five Billion years this rock will spin For in a heartbeat our mortal sin The ice caps melt the glaciers gone Trapped and challenged the end forewarned Still we cut we burn and drive The doom of cars we have no time For ages past we build and kill The death of all we do instill Poor earth dear heart she trembles so We claim the prize for ego's cold No death for her she will remain Still dust for us the virus tamed Poor sight dear one the mother birth No heaven here on our green earth The chemistry of life's design The proof will come with sad demise So goes our past dear selfish beast Our lazy feast on sands beneath The dry and claimed through acid rain For all our promise Only death remains

Amelia
Dance skyward on silver To east and towards home The Pacific host massive The Electra alone Around the world glory by destiny found Her fanfare and fame no Howland no sound With her fuel near on empty please pray if she dare The devotion that comes from a life at God's stair The sputter of engines The fall without flame A search past forever Her legend remains Soar on the wind rising with lark and eagle trace Sad Pegasus mourning heaven's given grace A falcon heart leaps...---...on clouds and belief Lost Amelia

| A Day In September Posted: 4/23/2010 6:26:27 AM | A Girl So Patient
The tender tones give her away My girl ablaze in her passion Just an angel set free Tossed by storms my whole life This girl who brings me tea and holds my hand when the lightening flies She settles my being When laughter performs the impossible and tragedy falls silent Her willingness to be open and vulnerable As I become what I truly am A girl who waits so patiently for me The lady knowing my secrets Tells not a soul As her lips gently brush mine I witness happiness

| A Day In September Posted: 4/24/2010 7:54:32 AM | The Savage Within
The friendly, gentle and wise Man's kindness bestowed Sweet kisses given in love A touch out of friendship Charity to the less fortunate The comfort of a hug gifted This is the best of what we are Food shared, help provided, support for the weak All of this makes me proud So my heart does cringe at the savage within Too many times we see the suffering The tidal flow of evil present As pain is provided and death is the real world Of all of earth's creatures we have something so very special The ability to chose benevolence over evil Kindness over calamity What holds our souls to the hot flame of corruption Wicked misfortune through out our history Depravity and sinfulness over time What drug or demon present holds the mystical key The choice is ours so easily When love begins the day and stays This is man's zenith The pinnacle of our being To bad we chose too often to sleep with foul disaster To rut like pigs in the waste of illicit choice When we could be flying like eagles born While tasting the Olympus gift of beautiful existence The mistake of our linage So sad I say So very sad

| A Day In September Posted: 4/24/2010 8:12:59 AM | The Scarlet Rose
Passion is mine through heavy doors Once I cling to her sultry form Took years to find what I was searching The go between and truthful charm A voice of amulet quiets the alarm I heard of a legend from a sorcer's tale Of a charm long hidden to bring love without fail A single deep burgundy-red rose Beneath a mountain so small Where snow never fell or at least men could't recall When magic was sprinkled and dust did remain The destiny envied brought some host great pain So I traveled the journey in search of petals so true To speak of a feeling felt and what I want to mean to you Of love like the young and impassioned though years have surely been gained The cost of indecision and lessons from that pain The rivers were quite swollen and I swam as never before I tread the ice and cold of night to love forever more Of couple's betrothed and details I can never explain I ventured by your side just to say your sweet name So I bring to you a dear scarlet rose What maidens only hope The feel and will and the long engaged Mine is the spirit aloft in her blithesome way When her heartbeat and the lessons learned are shared with total joy By my bed and by my wisdom to all who quest for love Who search for the joning of devotions only two Find a scarlet rose and she will be yours The wind of love beside you.

| A Day In September Posted: 4/24/2010 8:29:02 AM | Dire Terror
We hear the screams Coming closer to our street Will danger's daughter pass The poor and lame The victims claimed A cruelty of death devine The somber lie soon realized With troops on trucks who dare dispose The weak and frail to insanity When soldiers crush as front doors falter Machine guns rage The shouts our cries Within me the excessive hate it lies My family dragged from our home If I behave will I be safe No rules or judgments follow The chase and catch The tortured match How freedoms illusion roams The dictator's wish of evil bliss All host to sanctity torn I long for the day When good people can say What liberty allows Why terrorize with feeble conscious born The hunted found The deadly sound as dear red blood it flows Sick ruthlessness of wicked sown Our ancient curse the primal home Mankind's bitter history The truth exposed I long to shout and burn them dare To blast and cast and kill To be the victor so endowed A mirror of the beast foretold Alas I fear a troubled tear Revenge so desperate I My soul to save from being A reflection of the men Not I

| A Day In September Posted: 4/24/2010 9:36:43 AM | The King Is Dead
With a blue sky full of promise A kingly column moves slowly past Our present day Arthur gliding among his loving subjects The gleeful horde shouts their approval While innocent children are held on high So they may see this gentle king with his dark lady fair Ghosting along the stone spires of a hostile southern Camelot
Few changes are peaceful or forgiving Most involve a tempest or strong upheaval Dirty back room dealings with paid for loyalties Done by men of power or wealth Though little else that's worthy of praise
No abication this or election voted freely A slaying complete as weapons found their mark He fell slammed hard and bloodied Slumped beside his lady fair His body and his ideals covering her and the carriage that carried them
While soft voices wept Chaos rained As the grief that followed clouded our judgment And shadowed the guilty among us
For mock investigations create the illusion That justice is being served But alas no justice is present When facts are disobeyed and lies pass as golden truths We are the bearers of this slaying The loyal children who were held on high But have never been able To see

| A Day In September Posted: 4/25/2010 9:29:46 AM | The Great Beauties Of Entertainment
With Lauren Bacall I'm lost in her eyes When Elizabeth Taylor In Cat shows her thigh As Kathleen Turner In a Body Heat trance The girl Rachel Welch Gave her beauty a chance I loved Barbara Stanwick The vixen for real And Brigit Bardo With her hot exotic appeal As Ester William is swimming through time Farrah our angel From earth she did fly As Natialie Wood To heaven she's drawn And hot Rita Hayworth Could dance till the dawn Blonde Doris Day A sweet girl next door And sexy Joan Collins Yes, Dallas and more From Clara to Jean And Mansfield so fine Lee Remick my word The Long Hot Summer time Stephanie Powers No heart left in me Or Loni Anderson on WKRP Jane Russell In The Outlaw Hughes had a plan And hot Ava Gardner Frank was her man A young Vanna White In a picture I viewed Or Erica Elainiac In a Spanish hat and sexy see thru The dozens of others Whose names I can't recall And though you may laugh A young Lucille Ball

| A Day In September Posted: 4/25/2010 9:38:21 AM | Will Bogart Be Waiting
I love the romance The granduer of old Hollywood Screen legends and devoted dames Gable and Lombard Bogart and Becall Though I have often wondered Will Humphrey be waiting when Lauren passes over We spend our lives searching for love A faint few actually find it while most search in vain Though a simple thought occured to me Maybe that love has already been brought to light She just waits for me on the other side This would explain why we have never discovered it It was uncovered years earlier in another life or in another time So I hope when she goes Bogart is waiting They had so little time together in this world The fourteen years of love and laughter The films and stellar premiers surrounded by the quiet moments This passion they shared was hopefully timeless I pray dearly he is waiting for her That would be a Hollywood ending For all of eternity

| A Day In September Posted: 4/26/2010 7:23:03 AM | After
I weep As I have for many years Missing what is your smile The tender touch and all that you gave My girl you would press your lips and realize my love Hours alone have changed that very little I still love you and always will My sad fate upon this earth In love while alone I tremble

| A Day In September Posted: 4/28/2010 7:16:06 AM | Never Enough
Words come so easily All else is sad and lost beyond I have learned to accept The path that I'm upon That love is absent and the loneliness A man of no means When I said I cared for her It wasn't enough It was never enough So many times women heave spoken those words To gain what they desired Till life became too mundane and they flew away A bird so sweet with little remorse Tragic in form with my heart livid from the loss This is the sight given in exile The constant reminder of the beauty stolen For she alone stalks her prey The lioness and the chase While I am the quest fatally conquered and forgotten So easily I regretfully discovered

| A Day In September Posted: 4/29/2010 7:52:43 AM | Sailing Lovers
Deep the emotion between us As you walk by my side What I feel is the ocean breeze Sand in our toes and moments of laughter Blankets and bon fires with quiet waves washing The stars amazing and your beauty surreal Our sailboat at the anchor Freedom joined with affection I cook for you in the evening with joy and pleasure The foreplay between us as devotion is given to lovemaking Till the morning birds sing as we drift to amorous dreams The life we imagine with power and gifts A woman who wakes in my arms Sails with me on waves unimagined For I am the believer in love for the ages With you in my life and the ocean spread before us As my heart goes forth forever We share the blue horizon

| A Day In September Posted: 4/29/2010 8:05:06 AM | The Killing View
The beast A lioness Stalking silent so still A breath till death The flash and cry No lullaby as jackal babe is caught The mother lion to feed her brood When hunger is the mood The savannah holds all Weak and small and deadly Nature's still evening so near The quiet after the kill The destiny of life's cold fact Un-denied I cry as jackal babe quivers Short shaking legs as the end approaches She is caught the little babe lives only moments longer Why oh why I wonder Though I know the answer Still it hurts to view The killing soon

| A Day In September Posted: 4/29/2010 8:28:09 AM | No Limits To Loneliness
I have words left unspoken Amid thoughts held silent concerning our love That will not be told Epic wants pressed between pages As a flower is kept for the day when she is no more
I am growing older As heartache knows no limits Loneliness comes not only to the child but to the aged as well We pass through sand and fire only once Simple and cruel Love wasted is the greatest loss A life held quiet or a man or woman left alone
I am not handsome as youth once enjoyed My hands are hardened by task unseen Though my mind is full of promise While my body still yearns for your soft embrace As my loins still last till the morning I lust for the distant call Her pleasure spilled freely in days together With lights burned low and authors read with reverence
Without her I am afraid of the dark or the unforeseen I will wait For love with any other would be sadness proclaimed You are my one desire's name Even if we are no more

| A Day In September Posted: 4/30/2010 7:46:10 AM | Prejuice Veiled
Hatred open and unmistakable So easy to keep track While bias that is hidden The silent loathing Is much harder to unwrap The callous beneath A manner so sweet The sinister hatred of men with deceit So easy to mistake The quiet manner shown His clothes of silk over deadly bones The deep pool of Diablo with loving tones No master or priest A bigot lies beneath Prejudice complete

| A Day In September Posted: 4/30/2010 8:05:18 AM | The Dark Illusion
To paint him as insane A psycho unprecedented would be too simplistic Darkness devoid of conscience This is danger's tapestry Though how do you explain a nation and a continent Held captive by his undisputed influence All at once that is the profane realization Madness was there along with a reckless nature A sublte capability to conjoin and captivate Mass hysteria almost hypnotic in it's presence Fear all mighty corrupts the conscious of both men and women Though other issues are brought to mind A human factor of wanting to please the father Unquestioned loyalty while being submissive to the regal All of this was present a fatal fawning The smiling serpent with Cheshire cat grin Charming when it suited deadly when provoked Using the realms of patriotism and honor twisted This was his dark illusion until the final ending With roots traced through Wagner and mythological Germanic lore This cancer source of what became a nightmare Till the fog lifted and they finally understood What had occured in their absence The absence of their sanity and reason Still that holds true of today's leaders Beware the false prophet who implores through hatred and vicious act Who's ranting and raving against certain religions or ethnic groups Spells doom and disaster He is the wicked incarnate Though he appears as the savior He is the beast alluring A deadly combination for all who follow and worship Unaware.

| A Day In September Posted: 4/30/2010 8:45:35 AM | The Traveler
I long to see Paris Copenhagen or Rome The rare sight of London So far from my home
To voyage the ocean To see distant lands Down south Argnetina I think would be grand
The Pyramids regal Or Moscow some day The Alaska grand vista Or Great Hudson Bay
The green hills of Scotland Ireland or Wales The whole British Isles Before memory fails
These treasures I've longed for Though above all the rest One place I do covet I've learned is the best
You can't journey by sailboat Or fly in a plane A car would be useless Or on a fast train
I 've wished and I've wanted To live in this place The journey well ended With Mercury's grace
A voice well within me Will get there in part The oasis I long for Deep inside her dear heart
I've know many fine women Their pleasures I've found Though deep in their souls I've never been bound
Not just for a visit To fondle and play This place that I search for I want forever to stay
So show me the highway The course and the track The path or the marker The way that I lack
The galaxy stellar The Milky Way shown The ghost of forever Great love not alone
And when I arrive there I no longer will roam I will kiss her so gently For I will finally be home

| A Day In September Posted: 5/1/2010 9:06:26 AM | What You Say Quietly
Your photo speaks of a girl who longs for two I sense you are lonely The distant life or a lover close For nothing matters except your choice A true beginning or a peaceful wind if I lose you For even if my feelings fail I sing your chorus and wish you fortune I have held the secret what others seek A honey taste or glory tried And though your picture holds my heart It pales to the vision I carry of you Not from a photo sent or words spoken too quickly A quiet happiness from your loving attention The depth of your letters as we are on the eve of emotion The moan of years is never heard As we dance the romantic exhibition Cradled in each other

| A Day In September Posted: 5/2/2010 10:27:22 AM | Loneliness
I know the past speaks a dire view
The withered pine with broken rain
No simple picture on muddled canvas
The lost with scant praise
Torn hills misty cold with the inner post of despair
Obscure hope falling quiet and solitude rendered true
The jackal cry with somber signs
Her voice fades through hateful seasons as I am left alone

| A Day In September Posted: 5/2/2010 10:37:23 AM | Love's Shadow
Post from my gilded heart With timely rhythm The love I joyously shared Mere shadows fall so quietly With tragedy so callous Against the glare of love's misfortune So near and yet lost amidst the coming night All that I engaged in was true Yet will somber shadow pass The calm after the tempest For even storms have reason With temper fair and her hair across my shoulder Close and yet a mystery still You may never know her heart Or know her mind as desire remains The lock that keeps the secret Alas for I have lost the key She remains cloistered and secluded In love's shadow So hidden from me I sadly grieve So hidden is she

| A Day In September Posted: 5/3/2010 6:45:15 AM | An Angel Pictured
Sultry lines
You bare in my mind
Passion folds the soul within
All care to the girl
So fine in forties form
The angel passion that holds
While envy is present for the man
Who claims and loves you
