Okay, Vick is out of the running for the MVP award. Since he didn't have a full season of work, I wouldn't have voted for him, if I had a vote. However, I do think that he should receive a Humanitarian or Heroism Award!


After all, if Vick hadn't stepped in and taken over as the starter for the Eagles, Kevin Kolb, with his lack of mobility, would certainly been seriously injured, maimed or killed playing behind that poor excuse of an offensive line that the Eagles put out on the field.

Jason Peters in the Pro Bowl? What a farce! Peters is over paid, over rated and slightly above average, at best! Saffold from the Rams, Brown from the Cards or Diehl from the Giants are just 3 left tackles that deserve the honor over Peters.

I have no problem with Brees getting in, I just think Aaron Rodgers just have somehow gotten in....

Peyton Hillis not in?....

I really dont know if Charles deserves it over Hillis...

anyway, who cares, nobody watches the probowl anyway.....

Rodgers will get in, as an alternate, as Brees will be busy that weekend preparing for the Super Bowl!!!!!!

Vick lost any chance of mvp last night.

He had a shot, I still dont think he would have got it over Brady, but with last nights game, losing to a rookie qb in philly...now there is NO chance...

Vick is the starter because Philly has some glaring weaknesses.
They're not strong up the middle; the center and both gaurds got owned by the Vikes last night, a team that's struggled to get pressure all season long. Vick is needed to try and avoid that surge of bodies flying in his face. If they protected better, Kolb would be starting this season.

As for losing to the rookie QB...
Same as offense, they're weak up the middle. The two Vikings gaurds are backups; one a rookie and the other a failed experiment at tackle. Yet, those two gaurds dominated in pass protection and run blocking, enabling Peterson to fly around and Webb to just sit back and THINK long enough to not make stupid throws. Put pressure on a rookie, and you're probably going to win. They were unable to do that. And, they miss Stewart Bradley, who helped made up for weaknesses up the middle on defense.

Another weakness: their recievers are not physical enough. Fast? For sure! But again, Viking backups limited DeSean Jackson to 2 catches, and Maclin wasn't a big factor, either. They bullied them at the LOS, and bailed out to defend the deep stuff.

Philly could be one and done in the playoffs. Giants and Vikes exposed them.

playoff lines first weekend...

saints -10.5 seahawks...45.5

Indy -3.5 jets...44.5

Ravens -2.5 KC....41

Philly -2.5 Packers ....46

holy cow...seahawks are getting 10.5 at home..big line for a home team...

I love me some packers getting 2.5 though...would like to see it move to 3...but I like the pack to win outright....

should be a good weekend of games

well I don't blame you ....with the Ravens,Saints, Jets and yes even the Packers ....

it looks like that Tueday night game threw the Eagles for a loop...I agree with the gov of Pennsylvania...whimps!

but the Bears and Packers are two most dangerous teams to play but I still like the Saints too( hope Breez is up to strength)

Brees is up to strength. The Saints O line is healthy. The Saints leading receiver (Colston), their tight ends (Shockey, D. Thomas and Graham) and running backs (P. Thomas and Ivory) are banged up. Reggie Bush could be the X-factor and earn his over inflated salary this Saturday.

Hasselback threw for more yards against the Saints D than any other QB the Saints faced this year. This game could be a shootout in Qwest Stadium.

I think that the Saints will win, but I'm not that confident that they will beat the spread.

Whatever you want to call it, both teams from Super Bowl XLIV were upset and out of the playoffs on the same day ending their chances of getting to Super Bowl XLV.

Look on the bright side, those pictures of Tom Terrific accepting the award will be distributed world wide, and like us children of the 70's, he's going to look back someday at them, in particular that god-awful hair, and say WTF was I thinking.

Could the league ask for any better match-ups this weekend? Pats v. Jets and Steelers v. Ravens. Both facing arch rival division foes for a third time this year with both having split their regular season contests!

Hoping the Ravens draw first and last blood on the Steelers and the Pats shut Rex's mouth up. Too bad we couldn't see another Saints vs Falcons rubber match game, but would like to see Packers vs Bears for the NFC Championship game.

Baldy's prediction: There is no way the Jets can beat the Patriots. Rex talks too much and his team isn't good enough to back it up. Brady will prove why he is the MVP.
Ravens/Steelers game can go either way. Both teams are very physical and should be a great game.
Seahawks are a fraud and should lose this game although they might hang in for awhile.
Packers/Falcons will be a great game as well and whoever wins will give the Bears all they can handle.

Bears/Patriots super bowl.
Patriots Super Bowl champs.

P.S Ravens are the one team that match up well with the Patriots in the AFC. They own the Steelers and the Jets will be eliminated after this week.

I'd like to see Ravens advance because Pittsburgh has been to the SB too many times, LOL would like to see the Pats shut up Rex! Packers will only face the Bears next week if they both win this week, for some reason I thought GB/Bears played this week but apparently I had that wrong... that would be a good game. I'm hoping both Packers and Bears advance so Bears can beat Packers butt....

Hoping for the Bears to go all the way!

LOL, absolutely, you got me there New, if it were the Giants in the shoes of the Steelers I would be rootin for those Giants!!!! Just as a non Steelers fan it gives me reason (at least in my mind) why not to go for them..... I f they win I'll be happy for you and Steel... but so far that's it.

Yup, gotta love it!!!!!!!!!!

This always seems to be the bitter/sweet time of the year, as fans we all get so excited to see who will make it, who won't, see who gets the SB ring.... then sadly it's all over until next season.... Of course we do have the drafts next.
