| A Few Extra Pounds Posted: 10/29/2004 5:22:52 PM | Alura2 If you are all that you want to be and your boyfriend loves you, all the best to you. In starting this thread I didn't do it to knock anyone, I was just stating a fact that many women leave out of their profiles when they say a few extra pounds, usually those few extra pounds turn out to many, many extra pounds. If a man comes along who likes bigger women all the better for them and the guy, however overweight women aren't for my particular tastes. All the best in your biking. | |

| A Few Extra Pounds Posted: 10/29/2004 5:42:30 PM | Thank you for showing the women out there your REAL colors!! Now that we know where you stand,,,we can avoid you. What makes you think you are SO special? I dont see your pic on any magzine covers. Take people for WHO they are,,,not what they look like!! And just one last thing,,,I may be overweight,,,,,,I can diet......you are an ass,,,,that is forever!! | |

| A Few Extra Pounds Posted: 10/30/2004 8:24:29 AM | mysticalmusicman --- LOL - I PRAY for the poor lady that gets ahold of you . And I PRAY she dont gain no more than 10-15 pounds over the course of being with you.
Because if she does you are likely the type to treat her like second class and make her feel of less a person.
Your attracted to who your attracted to - but -- IF you are lucky enough to find someone, stay with them and they gain more weight than your requirement --THEN WHAT??
I would really like to know. Just how DEEP does your love go for someone?

| A Few Extra Pounds Posted: 10/30/2004 8:30:01 AM | at your age - of which i wouldnt go for - i HIGHLY doubt anything you have would satisfy me !!

| A Few Extra Pounds Posted: 10/30/2004 11:50:51 AM | | I look at it this way. A few extra pounds can be nice, but if it is 50 pounds then that is over what i like to see. Not that there is anything wrong with it. There are Men out there that like that. So tell the truth and look for the men that like big women. I can tell you right now if i got off the plane expecting to see a few extra pound and find 50. I will upgrade to first class to go home, right now. that was the first lie. oh no I am not going to see you for your inner beauty and get used to it. Shallow, Maybe. I don't think so. | |

| A Few Extra Pounds Posted: 10/30/2004 12:11:29 PM | Does the guy need to have broad shoulders, a hairy chest or look good in jeans? Does the woman need to have small breasts, long legs or pretty eyes? An individual's preference to what their partner looks like is their preference. I honestly don't see anything wrong with wanting to see your favorite attributes in your partner.
Having said that, I think that weight is just a little bit different. Depending on many factors, being overweight can cause some health concerns. I've noticed that most people discussing weight as a requirement in this thread seem to be doing so because of an aesthetic mind set and not based on any health concerns. Now some people can carry more weight than others and remain healthy, some people need to lose weight or they could suffer health risks. Speaking only for myself, I would want whatever partner I chose to be healthy and actively taking steps to stay healthy.

| A Few Extra Pounds Posted: 10/30/2004 12:20:02 PM | | you ever notice that overweight people always attack with the take people for what they are thing. I will.. i am not saying i don't like them as a person. But it not what i want for myself. this whole thing sarted out as a misrepresentaion of yourself and your weight. So why attack the guy. | |
|
| A Few Extra Pounds Posted: 10/30/2004 12:23:00 PM | | here is another thing. I have a hairy chest and I am short. do you know how many won't date a short person with hair. Lucky I don't have it on my back. Cause most women are way more cruel when it comes to that than any guys is about a few extra pounds. | |
|
| A Few Extra Pounds Posted: 10/30/2004 1:58:44 PM | What I have a problem with is ,,he came across as thinking he is perfect,,,,NO ONE is perfect,,,Hair on the back ,short, tall, thin, fat, green, purple....no one is perfect.
Lets do everyone in the world we live in a favor,,,,,except us all for the wonderful humans that we are,,plain and simple

except us all for the wonderful humans that we are,,plain and simple You're assuming we're wonderful human beings... Assumptions are always a bit wrong
|
| A Few Extra Pounds Posted: 10/30/2004 8:34:22 PM | | your are generalizing... we are not talking about We are the world or up with people. we are talking about people not telling the truth about what they weigh..Oh yeah yeah I know.. you should except them for what they are inside. You know it really isn't about heavy or thin. it is a personal thing.. I don't like the feel of a heavy body nor do i like the feel of bones. If i said i was 6 foot tall cause you said you want someone over 5'10 for your OWN personal reasons... and i showed up at your door a whopping 4 foot. I would expect you to be pissed | |

| A Few Extra Pounds Posted: 10/30/2004 9:50:16 PM | you know what i say to all of this?
BLAME IT ON THE MEDIA.
sure we all have different views on what we like in a mate, whether it be tall, short, fat, thin...or whatever else you'd like to add to the list.
But did you ever stop to think about why we have those thoughts in the first place? Blame it on all the crap we see every single day on tv, walking down the street, listening to music and reading books/magazines and even shopping. We've all been molded into thinking a certain way and creating an ideal person that we may like. (I say this because I've studied the way advertising works and frankly its a disgusting job and unfortunately I might be in that industry someday since I do graphic design, but hey its a harsh world what can ya do.)
I mean I speak for myself when I say I do have many types of guys that catch my attention visually. Right from the typical artsy guys and then the skater guys with the shaggy messy hair and the shy guys with glasses, all of which give off a certain aura when they walk down the street past me (and most of the time dont even notice me). Yes I may be a little superficial in classifying the type of guys I like into groups/labels like this.....but once again...
BLAME IT ON THE MEDIA.

| A Few Extra Pounds Posted: 10/30/2004 10:31:59 PM | | If you are hungry then eat. Make sure it is non-fattning foods if you are overweight. If you are overweight then excersize. Thats all you have to do to stay slim and healthy. The question is "how bad do you want it?" | |
|
| A Few Extra Pounds Posted: 10/31/2004 2:06:48 AM | I place the blame solely where it belongs....... Hilary Clinton.
Why?
Because I can
Also I blame those cute little anime teens... oh how I love thee, you sweet deliciousness.
Though I do see the media as a tool for evil stuff, you can't blame it all on them.
No the sad truth is, it's everyone’s fault. We really have no one to blame but us for most of what is wrong or perceived wrong in the world.
I love me and you should love yourself (mmmm self love).
That however does not mean being overweight is okay (I know, I know, but come on).
I have never worked out a day in my life and baby does it show.
So I am making one of those New Years things that you break in a month because you are almost always not serious and are WEEEEEEAAAAAK!
But this time, the one time someone makes one of those and keeps it, it will be me who keeps it.
Because I do love me, I just don't love the extra me.
Or the health issues that will ultimately arise because of it.
The End and stuff
PS. I know everyone’s situations are different so I am not really trying to make any kind of blanket statements this really only applies to otherwise healthy people who have no actual medical conditions or other complications that are causing the extra pounds.
PPS. I always have fun exploring the abyss and do so on numerous occasions

| A Few Extra Pounds Posted: 10/31/2004 7:22:24 AM | | LOL you are all missing his point. Eat, Be fat. if that is what you like and I am sure there is a guy looking for that just as there is a guy looking for skin and bones. And no TV or any media did not make me decide what I like. We are not sheep. TV didn't make me like chicken over steak or camping over hotels. GOD...it is all a matter of persona; taste | |

| A Few Extra Pounds Posted: 10/31/2004 8:39:53 AM | | all I can say is, that I think women in general just look more attractive slimmer, and dont be mad cuz I say that, its just a prefrence, if you want to gain weight then go for it, have fun, but be prepared to know that some people have preferances and weight is a big one these days. Look at the entertainment business, there are nothing but skinny beatiful women and chisled men on tv and music these days. We are conditioned to think heavy and ugly is evil as you can see in any movie the heavier people are either cast as doofy or someone whose made fun of and less attractive people tend to play villians..... Its society man, ugh , I think im gona go have some Ice cream ;) lol | |

Thanks man, I didn't know you even cared so much.
But I'm surprised it took you 2+ months here to figure that out.
I mean my first, second, third and so on posts to infinity seemed to show that in, me at least.
But I digress

And no TV or any media did not make me decide what I like.
I'm sure you think that, but you can think whatever you want. The fact is pop culture which is directly affected by the media and tv, entertainment and so on, does have some kid of effect on us all, on varying levels.
Another factor is environment, which is even more difficult to quantify
There are many factors involved in shaping us into who we are today, right this second.
Some of them are positive in nature and some not so positive (negative for people not following along).
I am not placing the blame on any one thing, nor am I trying to displace blame from myself, I am merely stating that we as people are much easier to manipulate then you may think (and that was only a small part of what I was saying anyway). Why do you think politicians still exist? Because we like them? Because we need them? Because they do us even an inkling of good? NO, it's because they are master manipulators(really referring to career politicians here you know the type and if you say you don't then either you have never read a newspaper or watched the news(media) or you just don't care(apathetic)).
Anyway I don't even remember when I became fat, it was before I was out of 4th or 5 grade, in a time in a person’s life when they are pretty much controlled by their parents. Do I blame them, hell no, I love them.
Spread the love, not the hate.
