I was a highland dancer for 16 years and have owned 3 kilts, all made for under 800. My last one was the most expensive, coming in at 600 but that's because the tartan wasn't widely available. My full highland outfit cost about 1000.

And yea, obviously I would wear one lol and would love for a guy I dated to wear one too.

Actually Sir James ... I broke up with him so he could go away to train in Edmonton.I let him go so he can continue his dream of being in the army and I just couldn't stand having a long distance relationship for 4 years. He was later killed. Now just for that smart ass comment I want a picture of you regimental. LOL kidding

I did some checking because the 5000.00 thing really threw me for a loop. The Gaelic College here makes them for between 600.00 And 1000.00 Cdn.

i saw a peek under like 20 of them the other day, i was on the subway platform and a bunch of catholic high school girls were around me and the subway train blew in, like blew in big time and most of their kilts went flying upwards. some weren't wearing so much under there. kids these days, why couldn't they be that way when I was their age. lol

I seriously do think kilts are awesome. so much to them more than a lot of ppl know. and face it they are cool, a guy in a kilt (a guys kilt that is) looks like cool. a girl in one looks damned hot, no matter what her age is. Watch Bedazzled with Liz Hurley and Brendan Fraiser. Liz looks smoking in that school uniform and she was almost 40 then. woohoo!

I'd date her in a kilt. or out of one mind you, but definatley in one :P

A kilt is nay a skirt for it is worn different in the fold of the apron. Anyone can wear trousers, but only a MAN can wear a kilt.

Do I wear a kilt? I would'na be a man if I didn'a.

YES, I want Kilts to come back into mainstream use, only way to do that is get more guys wearing them. I also want to see more Capes and Cloaks.
And as a bag piper and Highland dancer when I was younger, I wore the kilt at every oppertunity.

My rugby team is looking into getting us kilts for functions! Can't Wait.

My SO has been after me for years to get a kilt. But I've resisted so far, because I'm AFRAID that I'd NEVER get any respite from her attentions!

Ive worn one many times. Always regimental (the only proper way). Theres really only two problems... If you have a wallet, keys, phone, etc a sporran isnt always big enough... And the other is guys who think its a laugh to try to flip up another mans kilt.... Oh and a cold winter wind can be a bit... Too much of a jolt :p

I will say one thing, the BEST dance floor experience ive ever had was when I was wearing a kilt and dancing with a girl who was about the same height as me. The grinding was incredible ;)

Yes i would, and i have worn mine many a times lol Im irish and i live in boone NC so i always go to the highland games on grandfather mountain. I have seen many beautiful ladys weaing them! I think a person who wears a kilt shows that have confidence and a sense of adventure which is very attractive.

What are the odds on that? I've been to the week-long Thistle School in Boone for Scottish Country Dancing a few times before the Grandfather Games. One of the best collections of musicians and dancers in the US! Been wearing Ancient MacGregor for years. I'm half Irish, not even Scottish. Just got good enough at the dancet that someone gave me a kilt they no longer fit. Some women go nuts over men in kilts. Its the same old wine in a different bottle. Go figure!

Women in plaid look sharp .

I don't like them so I would not wear them. I have met 2 guys at irish bars in them and I would not go out with them. Just seems kind of weird.

I think it got to be cool. I guess i should go ahead and get it but would have a problem riding my motorcycle lol. Im sure some women think its weird, but many would think its cool if a guy is wearing one. I wonder from you guys that do wear it. How does it work when you hike or go backpacking.

Odd, I recently went on a date w/ a guy that wore one for the date. First time both my date and I wore a skirt(a kilt is a skirt-like object). Didn't bother me, though I shoud have worn high gloss shoes so I could peek under his kilt just for fun.

Would definitely date someone who wears a kilt. Says a lot about a man who embraces and respects his heritage and looks good in a kilt!
