| KILTS...Would you wear one? Date someone who did? Posted: 4/10/2009 7:29:49 AM | I've been going with friends to see Irish bands (Saw Doctors, Gaelic Storm, Enter the Haggis...) at the House of Blues and the Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland's east side, and theyve conviced me to get myself a kilt.
The "Green Season" has swept me up!

Even more so when it is actually a part of their culture and history-- a man who wears something in respect for his lineage and is not ashamed of it is a great to see in this world.
So, to answer your question: it really depends, I might, if he seemed interesting. Extra points to him if he wore it on a formal date out!

| KILTS...Would you wear one? Date someone who did? Posted: 4/11/2009 9:35:23 AM | Now being a True Scot I couldn't resist posting this:
The Scotsman
Well, a Scotsman clad in kilt, left a bar one evening fair, and one could tell, by how he walked, that he'd drunk more than his share, he fumbled round until he could no longer keep his feet and he stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street
Chorus: Ring ding diddle diddle i dee oh, Ring di diddly i oh, and he stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street
About that time two young and lovely girls just happend by and one said to the other with a twinkle in her eye See yon sleeping Scotsman so strong and handsome built I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath the kilt
(Chorus)Ring ding diddle diddle i dee oh, Ring di diddly i oh, I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath the kilt
They crept up on the sleeping Scot as quiet as could be, And lifted up his kilt about an inch so they could see, And there behold for them to view beneath his Scotish skirt, Was nothin' more than God had graced him with upon his birth.
(Chorus)Ring ding diddle diddle i dee oh, Ring di diddly i oh, Was nothin' more than God had graced him with upon his birth.
They marvelled for a moment then one said we must be gone, Let's leave a present for our friend before we move along. As a gift they left a blue silk ribbon tied into a bow, Around the bonnie star the Scot's kilt did lift and show.
(Chorus)Ring ding diddle diddle i dee oh, Ring di diddly i oh, Around the bonnie star the Scot's kilt did lift and show.
Now the Scotsman woke to nature's call, and stumbled for a tree, Behind the bush he lifts his kilt, and gawks at what he sees, And in a startled voice he says, to what's before his eyes, Ah*, lad I don't know where ya been but I see ya won first prize!

| KILTS...Would you wear one? Date someone who did? Posted: 4/11/2009 1:54:41 PM | | Aye! Without question 'tis sexy... If he plays bagpipes and sings, even better. If he goes commando under the kilt, better still. That is, unlees we are talking about F. Ba**ard of Austin Powers fame--then thats a wee bit diff'rent. | |

| KILTS...Would you wear one? Date someone who did? Posted: 4/12/2009 7:56:44 PM | I have been known to throw mine on for a night out... Generally when I do the women flock to me wanting to know the age old question. Of course you do have to be ready for lots of questions especially the same ones over and over, some jeers from the guys, and an occaisional wild child trying to take a peek.
And my favorite reply to the question of whats on underneith it... "Bad girls allways ask me that.... The good ones find out for themselves." ;-)

There is just something about having my unit all snukked up and protected in my boxers/shorts/pants that I just can't go w/o. Love plaid skirts on a woman though.

| KILTS...Would you wear one? Date someone who did? Posted: 4/16/2009 11:53:23 AM | I've always wanted to wear kilts... I think it's time MEN take back the skirts they invented! I think they are sexy, and manly, and fun.
Those here who have said, "but I'm not Scottish"... you don't have to have a kilt with a Tartan (the pattern) on it.
However. . .
I have an issue with wearing one... specifically, MOST (not all) men who currently wear them seem to be of the Dungeons & Dragons, Star Trek, Warcraft-for-12-hours-a-day, type of men. In other words, men that I don't personally identify with, nor would I EVER want to be thought of as.
Nothing wrong with RPG playing, nerdy types, but I'm NOT one and don't think I want to be seen as one.
