| does anyone feel the same as me. Posted: 11/2/2004 10:22:46 AM | i feel that way too Roaul! Being someone myself who is not exactly a gorgeous lady in face and figure, I feel that society (men especially) are very mean about this sort of thing. Not taking into consideration trials or tribulations that perhaps someone has gone through to become this way. For myself, I do not make any excuses toward that subject on my behalf. I've gone through a lot in my life (within the past two years) things I don't wish on anyone to experience - as a result I sit in a shaded area where my weight is concerned but love who I have become with it never the less.
If someone wants to love or be with me they will just take me for me (the good, the bad and the ugly) for however long it remains.
Im so glad though that there are men out there who believe what you do hun! :) But we are all prisoners to our ideals i suppose....

I am saying that smoking, to me, is unhealthy.

Remember. You're unique. Just like everyone else on this planet.

| does anyone feel the same as me. Posted: 11/2/2004 3:38:47 PM | | Again agreed Roaul. I"ve been in agreement throughout this thread. Except about smokers deliberately killing themselves and people eating themselves to death--my previous comment was live and let live--chose the one that is right for you, but don't make the rest of us feel less than worthy while doing it. I'm slightly overweight and I feel great! | |

| does anyone feel the same as me. Posted: 11/2/2004 3:49:45 PM | Smoking and killing yourself slowly - Yeah right.
Its how much you smoke, and how your immune system takes to it - breathing air can kill you, so does everything else you read in the National Enquirer.
Although the Media likes you to believe all sorts of horror stories, not one person in my family since the day I can remember, either had any form of complication nor any death related to tobacco. In fact, my 95 Year old Grandfather passed away peacefully @ age 95, having smoked since he was 17. He was never ill, bedridden, nor hospitalized - ever. Nor was anybody else.
I have yet to hear a similar tale about Boozers or Druggies.
Furthermore, there is Tobacco available that is completely free of any added chemicals.
Not condoning anything here, but there are zillions of things that can kill you. Why pick out a specific one? For every thing I do, I can pick out at least a dozen things non-smokers do that will kill them twice as fast!
Do you eat junk food? - I never do. Do consume Sugars? - I never do. Do you eat fatty foods? - I never do Do take Vitamins, etc. - I always do - daily. Do you drink lots of Water - up to 5 glasses a day for me. Do you get a lot of excercise? - My work gives me tons of it. Do you booze? - I don't Do you take Pills & Medication? - I never do.
Tell you what! You'll go long before I do!
You have my sympathies.

| does anyone feel the same as me. Posted: 11/2/2004 4:05:34 PM | Well I'm not a size 6 by any means... I'm attractive....and am happy with who I am. Yes I'm 38 with a laugh line or two.... I do have my "angel" markings on my tummy from my beauties, and thats me. I am a non smoker, I'm healthy ...I eat right..make good choice excersise every day... and I feel good about me. BUT it is a reality that a lot of men do prefer a smaller gal... and thats just not me.
But in all honest I also have preferences... I like TALL men.... brunettes and men who are athletic and most of all look healthy.... ( physical) BUY my husband was average hight , blond, and a musician!! so go figure.... In the long run once you get to know the person... your own "guidelines" to a perfect mate may change. But apperance does seem to be what you first notice.

| does anyone feel the same as me. Posted: 11/2/2004 4:11:39 PM | Raoul, Gotta leave some room for coffee too ..(g)
The 8 Glasses of Water is pretty well an agreed standard, and I am sure it's quite correct. However, 5 glasses is still far better than nothing but coffee, cokes & milk.
I don't pay one red dime of tax on mine. Don't ask why not! I won't tell you..(g)
Cancer of the Colon is just 1 thing. There are 100's, if not thousands of things that can go wrong with your body. Trying to prevent 1 particular thing from occuring is placing the wrong importance on overall Health.
By the way, Tobacco, because it contains Nicotinic Acid, is a natural agent for Weight Loss, and it keeps the Metabolism running nice & hot.
Overweight People, I believe are in danger, as their bodies are more prone to stop functioning. But that's just what I think, since I haven't done any research on it.

| does anyone feel the same as me. Posted: 11/2/2004 9:45:48 PM | Raoul,
Just stay true to yourself. There are lots of people who will be willing to judge you by the inside. I must admit that I obsess about my appearance all the time. I do that for me, no one else. However when choosing a partner, I didn't consider their appearance at all. He made me laugh all the time and that was sufficient. Before we met in person I had only seen one pic of him and found out after meeting him that he had lost 30 pounds since the photo. Apparently, image was nothing. Just hold out for someone special enough to deserve such a sweet person as yourself. You'll find her and she'll appreciate every inch of you.

Posted: 11/5/2004 6:18:53 PM | | It takes all types....Beauty is in the eye of the beholder....the connection between two people if it is true will not be encumbered by anything as trivial as weight or age or any other physical limitations/descriptions.....but in my humble opinion...physical compatability is howver important.
