Lol. Do you think Markus will listen to your demands? This new format is still under construction for some applications, as Markus stated at Msg # 40.
Many of us have said its too bright (including myself), so lets just see what happens.
I did notice the alignment issues were corrected, and I have to give Markus credit where it's due. THANKS Markus!! My eyes are grateful!
I didn't have any issue with the color, I think it's just fine (mainly because my favorite color is blue to begin with). But I CAN see where others would have that problem.
What would be nice is if people could choose what color(s) they wanted their profile to be. I don't think it'd be a bad idea. | |

Not sure that yellow was blinding. It's not like you're going to sit there and have a staring contest with it and burn your retina out
LOL, thats true, but I guess it depends on our individual screen brightness. Many of us have said the new page layouts are too bright in general, so many of us have burning retinas.
And, yes, the profile page is very stark. Maybe the white background could be changed to a soft beige instead. Blue for the sea, beige for the sand............ | |

I'm generally pleased with the upgrade but it mustn't loose its built-in-a-shed character. | |

i'm not complaining as this site is free and i'm very grateful for it, just pointing that out. | |

Posted: 4/27/2011 11:30:29 AM | i thought i would like this new format as i gave it a few days...i don't so many things aren't working and now my edit isn't working it just goes blank...wording is so small...nothing looks right...too bad things can't be as they were a couple years ago that made pof fun to be on...i wish pof would stay as pof and not try to be like cupid or match.com...let's keep pof as it were as when nothing was wrong with it...i don't care if this is a free site...its us who are on pof that makes it a dating site...if it wasn't for us putting our profile on pof there wouldn't be a pof...we need to go back as it were when it wasn't needing to be fix cuz it wasn't broken...ciao'  | |

Posted: 4/27/2011 8:33:45 PM | The site looks slightly more modern then before but it's still obvious that the code being used is ancient. If you want to update it you should head to the source not just cosmetics.
Regardless, I'll play along (I'm using Firefox):
-text is too small in profiles and is difficult to read now
-in written portion of profiles (about me, first date) there isn't spacing between the headers and actual body of text, but with other headers the spacing is correct.
-floating picture thumbs (mouse-overs) are not constrained by screen edges. meaning that if I mouse-over a picture on the right portion of a profile it will clip off the right side of my monitor.
-My City and New Users searches do not have a 'next page' button. This was a problem before as well though.
-In 'hottest girls' the notification for "Chat" is left justified. The notification for "Online now" is right justified... it looks silly, should all be centered.
-In 'Viewed me" the boxes for users without pictures do not have a consistent size. In cases where two of them are beside each other there is no spacing between them.
-On many pages there is no left margin for some text or pictures. Ex: "The following single row of users..." in the viewed me section.
-Users are able to break the formatting in the search field by having a very long word in the beginning portion of their profile. I'd link an example but we aren't allowed to link profiles... so just try making the first word in your profile something like "HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII" and then search for yourself... Your picture and writeup will be forced to the left of the screen.
-Also, if you have to re-log in after typing a message to send it the message is no longer there once you log in again. You'd have to write it again from scratch. (pro-tip: always ctrl-c before hitting "post")
-When sending someone a message the 'profile recap' type section has no left margin, neither does the gift section.
That's all I've noticed so far. Fix up those and do something about making text on profiles easier to read and I'd say it was a good cosmetic improvement

There are delays between each character I type often causing me to make mistakes. Also there are delays everytime I zoom in and out, while it reloads the surrounding mages. Sometimes I have to repeatedly hit the same pic numerous times for it to load as tthe bigger size. None of this used to happen before the change to the new format and it has made the site cometely frustrating to use! POF used to be the most easy to navigate Dating site. Now even checking email has become a chore. HELP! | |

one thing that does bug me is this IM thing.. when you are writing a message, what you are typing seems to stick while the page refreshes .. is there anywhere you can turn this refresh thing off ?
I run on windows 7 and use Firefox 4.1

Is when someone does not have photos posted, I do not see the area that indicates if they have private ones or not.
It mentions 'user has private photos' under the pretend picture of me, on my profile.
This was subsequently rectified after the posting of April 27th that you are quoting.

I do not know why this has happened, but ever since the new site went in, you can not search under the advanced search feature - European in the Ethnicity settings.
I use this feature 101% of the time.... why was it disabled? Can we put it back..... please?
I will also add that when adding a topic on the forums...if the topic has been discussed before, it does not tell you... the screen just goes blank... that's very confusing. Perhaps a one line of explanation would be good?
