Whats the feeling on older men and younger women?
Posted: 9/23/2006 7:40:02 AM
I have dated women 20 years younger, and we got along fine. However, they don't last long. Finding common ground is harder when you date young ones. The sex is usually great, but there has to be more for it to go anywhere.

Agreed - Age is a number. Age is an attitude. You can be old at 25 or young at 55. More important is having interests which are similar. If one of you likes Raves and the other likes Classical Concerts or Folk Festivals - it won't work. It is similarity of attitude that works, not opposites.

I have a neighbor man that is a fat, disgusting gnome with bad teeth and squinty eyes. He is about mid 50's. He recently married a 26 year old single mom that is model pretty. None of us understand it.

I'm 62. I love younger women...as long as they're over 40.

Well, In my younger dating days I dated younger men and older men but at 28 I met a man of 47 that would become my husband. We were together for 20 happy years until his death about 3 years ago. We had many things in common and many things not. But I never saw him as an "old" man, even when people that didn't know us would confuse me with his daughter. When I met him, he told me " I'm not the richest man in the world, or the best looking, or the smartest.... but I have the best personality". He was right on that and I miss him dearly. The worse thing about it was losing him so soon.

To dvlmycr: so sorry to hear that you lost someone you loved.

To the rest of you young women, I can tell you what older men offer younger women:

1. They know what they're doing
2. They're not boastful about their bods
3. They don't care if you carry an extra couple pounds because normally they do, too
4. They like conversation
5. They think that you're the best thing since sliced bread

I say, if you love someone, doesn't matter how old they are. My daughter disagrees with me on this one but, hey, she's just 8
