29 other teams would kill to get him on D.

Seriously I dont think the oilers will make the play offs but they have one hell of a future when those kids get into their prime they are a goaltender away from hoisting the cup

| NHL Hockey 2011-2012 Season coming up... Posted: 8/21/2011 12:41:37 AM | | Well, I don't think Toronto will pull off making the playoffs. In the East, I'd say that they will beat NYI, WIN & FLOR and that's it unless some of these teams suffer massive injuries. | |

Edmonton Oilers will win the Stanley Cup this year!! Go Oilers!! Gee, I hope not. I'm pretty sure that's one of the signs of the Apocalypse. Of course, once Hell freezes over they could have one of the Winter Classic games there.

| NHL Hockey 2011-2012 Season coming up... Posted: 8/30/2011 11:40:05 PM | well, if you think Edmonton will win, why not bet on them? You could make a killing on the VEGAS odds. They almost won as a #8 seed in 2006.
Last year,at this time, I would put all my money on Vancouver. I'd do it again. Heck, a different team has been winning each year.

| NHL Hockey 2011-2012 Season coming up... Posted: 8/31/2011 3:17:09 PM | GO HABS GO!
Everyone has their favorite teams, so of course there are some biased opinions, that's to be expected, I dont think the Oilers are a bad team, but it's pretty far fetched to think their going to win the Cup, How about making the playoffs for starters, or making it past the first round.
I'm not going to say I think the Canadiens will win the cup this year, but I hope they do!
The Flyers are going to be a tough team even more so with Jagr....
All I know is I cannot wait for the season to start!

| NHL Hockey 2011-2012 Season coming up... Posted: 9/1/2011 12:13:03 PM | My final four are Sharks and Wings in the west, Flyers and Sabres in the east.
Ice you really want to go down this road? You living in Toronto and being a Bruins fan should no the actual reason he was traded were business reasons plain and simple. The Bruins could not afford to keep him with their roster they had at the time and they felt trading him ( instead of others ) would net them the best gain. Deciding who came ahead on this trade is pointless as of this point and would just be speculative ( although I personally hated the trade as a leaf fan) . Thanks to the Bruins on the Kaberle trade , it was agreat deal for the leafs and could be argued either way for the Bruins. I disagree and could argue with Ice on his opinion on every leaf player that he gave although for the main part I agree with his appraisal of Komisarek to this point.
As Ice says Kabby was a nice guy , having chatted with him a few times myself as well as a few leafs and ex leafs ( living by their practise rink and spending many an hour inside had its perks) . Hockey players for the most part are very down to earth people and are usually more then happy to share a story.
The bruins will probably have a hard time this year and might be on the bubble themselves making the playoffs. Losing players , having to be measured against every game ( from winning the cup), shorter offseason, injuries and probably having sub par performances from a few players will take its toll . I am a true Leaf fan and my heart is saying they will finish in 8th and my head 10th in the conference. Like a lot of teams they have a shot at the playoffs and there are a lot of factors that will come into play to determine that . I for one can not wait for the season to start . The puck to drop, hear the roar of the crowd, the sound of the hits, hear about the hockey rumours, speculate on line combo's and to lace up my skates and play some shinny and hear those words " GO LEAFS GO"
P.S. as long as the Sens do not win the cup it is all good lol
RIP Wade Belak--- heck of a nice guy

Kabby is a great guy , just saw him a few days ago and shot the breeze with him, like I said hes the only leaf player I actually like
As in for my Bruins , the only thing they need to do is fire Julien, I think if the Bruins get off to a bad start hes gone, and if he keeps the leash on our young Segin, well it will bite him in the ass, If Thomas falters Rask will be more than ready to take the reigns, I think Thomas will come back hungrier because now he has to prove he isnt a one fluke year play off goalie.
As you know I have two favorite teams 1) the Boston Bruins and 2) any team but the Leafs......Bye bye leafsssssssssssssss and I do agree with you on one thing, I cant wait for the season to start and Wade RIP.

| NHL Hockey 2011-2012 Season coming up... Posted: 9/7/2011 8:59:18 AM | Prepare for the Apocalypse folks....because The Oilers will make the play-offs for sure this year!! Sooooooooooooo happy to see Smith back in the orange and blue, can't wait to see him cuttin' up the ice!
making my Vegas bets now...brewskies for all after I collect the loot!

First of all Iceman --in that statement there are two thing that you are in agreement with. You are in he financial field correct? lol
I don't agree with you about Thomas, to me he has nothing to prove he just had one bad year due to injuries and had awesome years before and after and although I do agree Rask is good ( thanks again to the leafs giving him to you) I hope he has learned to deal with his little attitude issue in relation to his teammates.
Kabby is the only Leaf player you liked because you had a chance to know him , most of them are good guys. The Bruins need to replace the intangibles of Mark recchi , get as much luck as they did last year, avoid long term injuries, avoid slumps by key players, make some key trades and hope the new additions and Segin and other prospects do well . If a few of those things don't happen they mind find themselves in 8th or lower in the conference.
As for the Oilers making the playoffs...good luck they will need a lot of it to get close to the playoffs let alone actually make it. They are too young, too inexperienced but should be a force in a couple of years.
|
| NHL Hockey 2011-2012 Season coming up... Posted: 9/7/2011 12:19:32 PM | Thomas will do well, I think ( if Julien will take the leash off of Segin) Young Segin is going to have a break out season.
I think the Bruins will do fine this year... as long as they make the playoffs and go deep things its all good.
As in for the Oilers making the play off , not a chance but that Oilers team assuming they can keep and develop all that young talent is going to be a frightening team in the future.

| NHL Hockey 2011-2012 Season coming up... Posted: 9/8/2011 12:36:37 PM | | I have a Leaf jersey if you need it but to be honest it isn't really fair the odds are the Oilers won't make the playoffs and will more then likely get another top 10 or even top 5 pick in next years draft . I think if the Oil (by some miracle) do make it Iceman should also get a bumper sticker for his car saying Go leafs Go and leave it on all year . lol | |
