Yes, women have a shelf life. Otherwise, men wouldn't limit there search for women to 35 years old.
I have no such limit.

Yes, women have a shelf life. And many placed themselves on a very high shelf. Can't reach them.

Yes, women have a shelf life.
Men have a self life also. They just dont want to accept the fact.

| Beauty over age 45 Posted: 2/23/2012 8:54:55 PM | I guess I have a curious case, I find an older woman more interesting sexually and can't find myself interested in younger women that way, even with perfect bodies, etc., but I do find a younger woman more fun and nicer to be with, more lively, etc.
Someone here made some comments about older men and younger women suggesting we are sugar daddies or something....... not on my watch. I've had much younger women hit on me, never thought much of it, but if I were inclined to take one up on the invitation and date them its because they and I were attracted to the person...........person, get it? Person? Hello????????????????? People, not "things"??????????????

Yes we all have a shelf life and ultimately it's called the date we literally expire.
Judging by the amount of time effort and money women spend on thier appearance compared to men it's hard to believe that we are the ones who are less likely to accept the fact that we no longer look youthful.
Women may be thier own worst enemies with statements and thoughts such as "men look distinguished with grey hair and women just look old " - I have heard that from more than a few women. As for myself I think I look a little more "extinguished" every day

And men seldom will put women over their own age on their dating list. Is it age, beauty standards, or what?
Yes, it's age. Yes, it's beauty standards.

Only a lazy person won't reach for the higher shelf

| Beauty over age 45 Posted: 2/24/2012 5:39:15 PM | | It's been my experience that "older" women only look older in the face up to a certain age, which is different for everyone. Men are the same way. I've seen better bodies on some older women than young, thin ladies. It's just cosmetic. I'm 49 and the average 20 something lady isn't as sexy as a 40 something lady. | |

| Beauty over age 45 Posted: 2/24/2012 5:45:57 PM | There's so much more important in life than who is still physically beautiful when they're older. Who gives a shit.
And that's what I think.

Guess it is just me but men with grey hair just LOOK old to me. And so do the guys with more wrinkles than a shar pei or who cant stand up straight or with a middle age gut. YES you have a sale by date YOU just lie and say women dont care about that.

| Beauty over age 45 Posted: 2/25/2012 11:41:00 PM | | Guess I missed the memo stating that everyone is required to be slim and trim in order to be marketable and guess I cannot be on POF as my profile says that I am overweight and at times it states what size I wear which is a plus size. | |
|
| Beauty over age 45 Posted: 2/26/2012 12:02:33 AM | | Fifi, we are the size/shape we are. But some try and hide what size they are and that's deceptive. Do you think a lady whose hips and waist are the same size is an 'average' body type? I like all types but prefer more of a curvy hour glass figure. I've read enough posts in the short time I've been here, putting down short, fat, and bald men. Well I've been fat in the past and may be again sometime in the future. But I don't think I'll ever be bald or short. Though I did shave my head when my wife lost her hair to chemo. | |

| Beauty over age 45 Posted: 2/26/2012 12:19:28 AM | | Your post came across as all women who are overweight are not appealing and that we all lie about our shape online . Women who do not have hourglass shapes are also sexy, some famous actresses have learned hoe to make the best of their non hourglass shapes. | |

| Beauty over age 45 Posted: 2/26/2012 12:40:00 AM | | A thin or average sized woman often does not have an hourglass shape. I know at least a few married women of various heights and weights who have straight body shapes who seem to be appealing to their husbands. I honestly have never been asked my waist/hip ratio until men on POF asked me. Just another qualifier to add to the ever growing list of women who are friend zone material to men online. | |

| Beauty over age 45 Posted: 2/26/2012 12:43:19 AM | Fifi, I'm sorry, that's not how I meant the post. I was replying to the one about big gut men. I think you know sarcasm don't translate so well to this medium.
You also see people who list their body type as 'thin' but with their bone structure they never will be 'thin'. My brother is 1" taller than I am and 30-50 lbs lighter. He is/was thin where I take after a different part of our family and will always be big boned/stocky no matter how much/little body fat I have. My late wife was the same way, she never would be 'thin'. Her rib cage, hips, and shoulders wouldn't allow it.
Again, my post didn't translate what I was trying to say and I didn't mean to offend someone like you. I looked at your profile and I don't see where you would be trying to deceive anyone about yourself. My post wasn't aimed at you.

| Beauty over age 45 Posted: 2/26/2012 2:22:12 PM | | I am having an extremely difficult time meeting any one. I am in excellent physical shape, am well groomed, well dressed and a nice, honest, genuine person. I really can't imagine what the problem is except my age. The funny thing is I am more athletic and in better shape now that when I was in my 30's. I can't figure this out. | |
|
| Beauty over age 45 Posted: 2/26/2012 2:28:29 PM | I don't think it's your age. Your profile is nice and well written. There are plenty of active men in their 50's or 60's. Maybe you should raise your age limit slightly.
If anything, it could be the location.

| Beauty over age 45 Posted: 2/29/2012 8:47:17 AM | Some of the most attractive women "out there" are in their mid 40's and up. I'd really feel foolish prancing around out and about with a lady that looks young enough to be mine or somebody's else daughter.
Look how ridiculous Hugh Hefner has looked over the past 20 years.......and ESPECIALLY now, lounging around in his bath robe...yucking it up with bevy of 20 somethings.
Actually....that looks a little (a lot) sick.
In my humble opinion, the lady who posted this thread was/is a very attractive woman!
|
| Beauty over age 45 Posted: 2/29/2012 8:53:33 AM | | ^^Hugh Heffner doesn't actually do anything with those women it's all for marketing purposes. I thought people knew that just by common sense but some of the women have spoken out about it anyway for those who believed it. They're with him, he gets good press, they become famous and get spinoff and everyone's happy. | |

He still looks ridiculous. Soon his girlies will be pushing him around in his wheelchair and drawing straws to see who has to change his Depends.
Lately he reminds me of Boris Karloff when Boris played Frankenstein’s monster without his dentures, to give his face that sunken look. So now when anyone mentions Hugh Hefner I think of Frankenstein.
|
| Beauty over age 45 Posted: 2/29/2012 3:03:01 PM | Well yeah...........of COURSE common sense tells me he they aren't actually DOING anything with him. But he WAS engaged to be married just recently to a lady that was 40/50 years younger than him, and she called it of.
You are right..it's all about the iconic image.............has been for years.....and of course the young ladies are there for the exposure.......... (pun intended)
