| Women Who Smoke Posted: 8/15/2005 5:56:48 PM | | Please, for your own sake, get off of cigarettes. It is one of the most addictive things there is. I believe a glass of wine or beer is okay, for me--------but cigarettes are deadly, according to the doctor. Health insurance premiums are drastically higher if you smoke, so is life insurance premiums. | |

|
| Women Who Smoke Posted: 8/18/2005 11:05:50 AM | tikicane: i agree with you. i am not a smoker, but my my entire family either smokes or used to do so......bottom line - if you do not like smokers, do not contact them and/or respond to them...it is as simple as that! why complain!?!
i also agree with some other postings....some of you need to lighten up on the topic. some of you are way too judgmental....as if we all do not have habits that annoy others!!
|
| Women Who Smoke Posted: 8/18/2005 11:07:55 AM | Maybe i'll start a thread...
People who dont smoke and want something stupid to b!tch about.....
|
| Women Who Smoke Posted: 8/18/2005 12:01:42 PM | The moment you begin to smoke you alter the cells of your lungs. Eventually these cells will turn cancerous.
If that's something you want in a relationship, by all means pursue it. However I agree with the majority, if I see a cigarette in your hand, I don't care if you're Pan Anderson's lookalike... it isn't going to happen.
But thats only my thoughts... you're entitled to have your own lol

|
| Women Who Smoke Posted: 8/28/2005 6:28:33 PM | I SMOKE and I do NOT like the addiction. It's really destructive, not just physically but mentally aswell. Aside from it's depressing effects, it is a total waste of money, it makes me stink, it makes me unattractive, it makes me feel like a lesser person.
My GOVERNMENT however, simply thinks the solution is to just increase the taxes on such products. I personally feel that is a little sadistic. In my mind what the GOVERNMENT should do is to mandate a slow decline in the CHEMICALS that the TOBACCO INDUSTRY added to cigarettes to make them more ADDICTIVE.
On topic, well I accept a woman who smokes, but honestly I would much rather find myself with someone who didn't.

| Women Who Smoke Posted: 8/28/2005 7:36:37 PM | Not a smoker here. Have dated smokers though, and consider it lucky when a guy don't do it. | |

| Women Who Smoke Posted: 8/29/2005 12:14:13 AM | Hey.
I recognize the personal choice that smoking is.
I disagree with smoking. I don't want to be forced to breath in smoke, or be endangered by fires started by smoking, or see discarded butts and wrappers all over my environment.
But if it doesn't impinge upon my world, I say smoke 'em if ya got 'em.
What's been going on with tobacco litigation is a vast abuse of the legal system. There is something called 'assumption of risk,' that, ever since there were surgeon general warnings placed prominently on the front of each pack, people have known of the death-accelerating properties that accompany smoking. So a lawsuit at this point of the game is vexatious litigation committed by shysters.
Also, the witch-hunting of smokers and the affrontery of those who get in your face and have the gall to lecture you. I'm no smoker, but how they've been hunted and badgered bugs me.
Because once the last smoker has been hunted down and force-fed tofu and bean sprouts and made to wear Earth shoes, they'll pick on someone else, and someone else, and yet someone else.
The capacity for the Nanny-state types know no bounds.
OT: Fla_Brun is wise simply to make smokers vs. non-smokers part of her date-filter.
It makes sense. Why try to change someone at this late-date?
Just find one kindred soul and fire it up.
