There is a category that looks like this:
Brainy yet attractive, possibly athletic. Very inquisitive.
Rascally sense of humor, social too.
Nerds on the other hand, are very knowledgeable but for some reason do not make the effort to adjust or assimilate societies mores or do that "makeover".
For some reason, Val Kilmer's movie characters come to mind:

Also seconded. My guy travels and he knows a lot about food and culture. He's artsy, he's politically aware and he brings the smarts.
Pretty much every geek guy I've dated has fit that bill. | |

I am far from stunning so I don't really know if I can answer that question. Don't underrate yourself so. I think you are extremely attractive.
So what was the question again? Why do intelligent, successful, men who tend to have hobbies they are passionate about, have their fiscal act together, and be generally unnarcissistic get to date beautiful women? (whoops, my bias is showing ;))

On the other hand, smart mind can entertain a lady and keep her amused a lot longer.
Lately there have been movies where the protagonist is a brain and he saves the day.
Also, todays technology requires men and women to be something of knowledgable geeks.
Todays kids are becoming more attracted to and more proficient with new technology. | |

sadly for women, the same confidence that draws them will lead them to the ***holes who spent their grade school years perfecting the smart remarks and quick comebacks to back up their smack-talk and inherently tend to lead a more dangerous lifestyle along with being emotionally withdrawn from having their masculinity tested over the years
they want belt notches, and i want to beat them with said belts
i am not confident, for various reasons, and i've never been competitive... to the point that i've never been in a fight, or even threatened physically, and i'm told i'm smart and nice and sweet, yadayada. could just be me, but the women that compliment me that way are all dating complete dipshits, and constantly telling me "oh one day someone will appreciate those very qualities"... funny how they never took that bait even tho they praise it like the be all-end all, not to mention those same women behind the scenes are being complete ditses and flocking to the useless turds who pick fights in a drunken stupor at the clubs and practice dancing all week to draw in the crowds. plus they're offended when called a slut after their 30th one-nighter with these pricks for some extra booze and to win the contest of who nails the "big man"
this being said i think the title of this thread is nonsense, and i've yet to see proof otherwise | |

I never underrate myself, believe it or not I'm just extremely modest. I tend to a woman who knows it totally depends on each person. Different people think different ways, and I'm smart enough to know that it's not for me to judge. For every person who thinks I'm hot, there's always someone who thinks I am not that big a deal - ya know?

I have never in my life met a man that is more of a prefect match than my Boyfriend is... He is so intelligent, witty, funny, sweet, very clever, AND has an amazing body!
Im so tired of settling for someone that is less that perfect. And I think that this time, I finally got it right. lol.
You have to be physically attracted to someone to be able to persue a relationship with that person, But who wants to be with a person the is a dumb as a sack of rocks?
If you cant hold down a conversation with someone then I really dont see the point in being with that person. | |

i guess i'm pessimistic cause i was smart and got a head injury, and now lack the depth and charisma of the average man, but i will be training with a ju-jitsu/muay thai/nin-jitsu expert whom i've been close friends with since near infancy, we'll see how good shape changes the game
due to said plight i've become very self-aware and observant, and i've never once seen brains outplay confidence and looks when pursuing a woman, nor a woman who would sooner have a long-term relationship with a smart man rather than a fling with a rich drug dealer... in fact everyone i've ever known openly admits they love to cheat for the rush and couldn't care less about finding something long-term, so i'd say most women are full of it | |

Yes there are shallow woman as well as men in this world. They are shallow for many reasons.
But as far as beautiful woman with ugly men, doesnt mean there is money involved, and I think your a idiot to unleash that thought with no research.!!!
I find that the gorgeous men or women think of themselves first and the "ugly" ones think of their partner first. And when you see a gorgeous woman with a less attractive man or vise versa its usually a product of just that. If you are stilted once or twice and you usually learn a lesson.
It may also mean that some women just know what they want. Just because a woman is beautiful doesnt mean that she is stupid!! | |

(or friends with benefits  ) I know a couple of women who think along the lines of, "If he can make me laugh, I don't care if he has 5 eyes, he's got a chance."
Of course there's also the chance that they're related, or room mates....or he could just be the annoying guy who never leaves her alone. Point is the possibilities are endless. | |
