| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 10/2/2007 4:09:34 PM | Geeks can be sexy. Usually quiet and intelligent (*a big plus) and they're also usually down with experimenting and having fun. ***SCREAMS**** GEEKS RULE!!! | |

| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 10/2/2007 6:35:51 PM | | Op: Do you see these gorgeous women with geeks in your dreams, the movies or as some fantasy? IF this is happening, then maybe the geek has a "big wallet" or he is really intelligent and can actually appeal to her mind..somehow. I didn't check what area you are in but that just isn't seen in my area. Also, women of any background can be only seeking sex just as men do also, they don't have to be shallow. There are people of different backgrounds that will just use anyone if someone lets them. | |

| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 10/2/2007 7:26:42 PM | Does this mean I can finally admit I'm kinda geeky? :P Hey, seriously, I think it's awesome. Gives me a spark of hope anytime I see a "geek" with a seriously attractive woman. Let's me know that the jocks don't always win | |
|
| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 10/2/2007 7:59:41 PM | Are you kidding??? Let's see....guy who has brain who might actually be INTERESTING to be around? Anyone who think being a geek is a bad thing is just flat out dull in my book. I particularly like weird geeks. Weird geeks have been the best in the bedroom as well. The best and most amazing times in my life have been with geeks. . Take a weird geek, add a little bit of non-obvious masculinity, draw out a little bit of his neanderthal side, add in a welder, a large board and lots of paper for drawing plans and doing calculations on (so that you get it right the first time without harming someone), some kind of explosives.......... the rest I'll leave to your imagination......... oh, and geeks have awesome imaginations. :-)
I'm sure what I'm saying will be a bit discounted because of my age and looks, but nearly 20 years ago, I was told I looked as hot as the cheerleaders in a few of my pics, but I still was always hot for the weird geeks.
|
| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 10/2/2007 8:02:26 PM | ^^^ I don't discount what you say (and not just cause I've been described as a geek/dork at times (hopefully in a good way). But you prove where personaliy really counts. 20 years later, right? | |
|
| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 10/2/2007 8:34:00 PM | 20 years later, right? I don't know if you mean me or the guys I dated. I'm still a bit of a geek (and always was even with an arts degree...yes, calculus is useful to music), I just don't remember all the equations well and take a lot of shortcuts or go for simplier things to futz with. The guys I dated when young and the ones I date now are geeks.
For me, I was the hermit wall-flower (still can be a lot of times in public), but if you came over and talked to me, I'd tell you all my grandiose plans to take over the world with nothing more than a tongue depressor. :-p
The geeks I went for never had a lot of women chasing them, and most certainly none of the popular crowd. The geeks that like to blow things up seem to be the most entertaining. They're usually engineer types. I'm not talking about a redneck that managed to somehow get a piece of dynamite and tries to dare his buddy to let it go off in his @ss while they're drunk. I mean, the ones that will decide to hook a miniature version of a little rocket engine to the hamsters ball, because they claim it takes too long for the critter to get it's excercise in its little ball and they want to speed the process up. Or, if actually blowing up something, one has to have a set of different materials, so you can make it a little test case and compare... Which does gun powder launch farther....1) a juicy Wisconsin brat, 2) your child's telletubby doll that you always hated, or 3) a box of your wife's tampons. Then you can tell everyone you plan on using that for your graduate thesis.

| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 10/2/2007 8:40:09 PM | ^^^ 20 years later I mean anybody... I've said before, I'm no Brad Pitt , but damn if I'm not one helluva a guy to be with. Right now and twenty years from
And since looks always fade (less you're George Cloonie it seems, damn him) what's really gonna count is the personality.
Heh, Rednecks with dynamite... When I hear people nowadays regarding looks, I'm always wondering what exactly they find attractive? The commercial ad guy (or girl?) That famous athlete?
I'm more down to earth than that I feel, so what attractive for me is not a bar that was set by the media.

| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 10/2/2007 9:06:34 PM | zerombie: Awesome!!! Basically, the guys with personality are going to get the women with personality, and the male bimbos will get the female bimbos. Someone once handed me a playgirl and asked which guy I'd do, and there wasn't a single thing I liked in there. Sorry, but they looked boring and full of themselves.......blahhhhh!!!
Anyway, nothing beats the sincere smile from a geek. :-)
P.S....... nice bike. A Ducati???

| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 10/2/2007 9:20:11 PM | Haha, I wish. Suzuki sv 650. THough I'm gonna mod it some. Duals head lights, rear cowl, and straighten the bars. A street fighter...
But so I don't lose topic :P Yeah, I was working earlier, and saw this guy who was a bit hefty with this rather gorgeous girl. And it might be alow self esteem thing for me, but I've had a fe w that I thought were out of my league. But an air headed bimbo, ugly or attractive, I don't really want to give the time of day. Cause it just gets so boring...

| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 10/2/2007 9:33:37 PM | I happen to love my geeks. My exboyfriend in the states, was a bodybuilder/super geek, and same with my best male friend (after we decided dating was not something he was good at), is a sergeant in the US army and he's beyond super geek. Geeks come in all shapes and sizes.
Take note.. Geeks are different than nerds and dorks!! (I've had this explained to me by all three kinds now).

Geeks are different than nerds and dorks!! Ok, I'd like to hear someone else's take on thost 3 . Please define. I've always defined myself as a geek and a dork. I said Geek because I like science and academic things and love turning academic things into twisted evil things. I say Dork because even though I'm fairly decent with my motorcycle skills, the only case of roadrash I ever got was when I tripped over my own two feet and wiped out on the pavement with shorts on and hard enough to make it look like I went spat on my bike at a low speed. I've done that twice this summer now and my boyfriend is getting concerned about the lack of skin on my knees, and the fact that I have no cool motorcycle story to go with it.
I'm not so sure about nerd.
I tend not to subscribe to the types that are actually tier 1 tech support for AOL where they read a script on the phone, tell you to turn off your caps lock key, and think they're brilliant, and live on Doritos and Mountain Dew, and their place smells like B.O. all the time, and then they play computer games. I don't even know what you call that. Anyone???
|
| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 10/3/2007 4:07:49 AM | Simple answer:
Nerd: negative connotation - a person who has ecclectic interests, but to a degree where they have no social life/ability to relate or appeal to others (ex: the stereotypical "guy who lives in his mom's basement and does nothing but play D&D")
Geek: person who's interested in technology/computers/whatever (you can just tack on a modifier to make it more specific), but they're more normal - they'll be sociable, meet people, and in general will occasionally come up for air from whatever "unpopular" interests they have, but don't try to hide the fact that's what they enjoy
Dork: not really defined, can kind of imply something along the lines of "nerd" but less intelligent - usually I just use it as a mild jab when someone does something dumb (well, or when I do).
As for hot women going for geeks... this hasn't necessarily been my experience (well I mean, hot non-geek women anyway), but hey, I sure hope some of the women around here get the same idea!

| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 10/3/2007 4:45:35 AM | | Sometimes it is not what it appears to be. Looks are not everything. A stunning women can be as mauch trouble as a homely women and vice versa. That goes as well to men. Being nice is nice..simple no matter what you look like. You don't have to be stunning to me. It helps but not on top of the scale. Also, people change and become salamanders and change colors....actions speak more then words. | |

| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 10/3/2007 7:59:45 AM | | zerombie...you a cutie pie. Too bad you weren't 20 yrs older or I wasn't 20 yrs younger. You seem like a great catch. And you're funny too. Love the George Clooney reference. Good luck! | |

I constantly see tons of the most gorgeous women all with guys that must have been beaten with the ugly stick constantly from birth. Does this mean there are shallow women out there who are just interested in money. Why arent there any shallow women only interested in sex
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
With all the topics about why women go for jerks and playas, you're going to complain that hot women are not living up to the stereotype that they are shallow? That maybe they wanted a guy who would be good to them and not go looking for a bigger better deal?
If they found something, then it's not for us to judge. Just because someone is hot doesn't mean they are supposed to only mate with hot looking people.

| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 10/4/2007 8:18:23 AM | I concur with Crayola. After the mistreatment some of these gorgeous women receive from the popular guys, they come to their senses and go for the "geek" guys that treat them like they should be treated (human beings). | |
|
| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 10/4/2007 8:29:28 AM | | "geeky" guys are the best... especially the ones that AREN'T rich... they tend to be sweet natured... lots of fun to be around... but here's the kicker... they are smart and down to earth... I doubt these beautiful women that you see are shallow... "why aren't there any shallow girls only interested in sex" does that not sound shallow??? whatever dude... pffft!!! stop hating... | |

| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 10/4/2007 8:40:31 AM | Geeks are more appealing because they have something else going on in their life besides :
a) chasing the opposite every night at bars b) talking about sex 24/7 c) getting 'jock-style' drunk all the time (being loud, obnoxious and puke everywhere) d) money + business + no time for anything else
They are passionate & loyal to their hobbies and are usually really good at them. That shows they are good with details.. which can be applied to the opposite sex when they do meet someone. Geeks are usually good at doing a lot of different things. Some are jack-of-all-trades (or jaqueline-of-all-trades)
who wouldn't find that appealing? (especially when they looks cute on top of all that)

"geeky" guys are the best... especially the ones that AREN'T rich... they tend to be sweet natured... lots of fun to be around... Of course, she has to live in Indiana...
I better copy that down for posterity, who knows when I might hear such a phrase again!
