| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 7/22/2005 9:14:21 PM | By your logic, maybe an ugly man would be more likely to cheat beacuse he hasen't gotten as much sex in his life. But, this is all BS anyways. It's not just looks and money that attract people to eachother, we seem to be forgetting this. "Ugly" people cheat, too.

I kinda like geeky guys.....I've had secret crushes on some of the geeks I've worked with. They weren't great looking in the conventional way, they are unassuming, they are sooo freakin' smart and don't realize it, they were polite and sincere, and never once did I catch them talking to my chest. I would have gladly dated any of them.
Take note of the final sentence: "I *would* have gladly dated any of them."
That means you DIDN'T date any of them, thus they remained geeky and single. As Yoda would say: "Do or do not, there is no TRY."

If these truly were geeks, then of course they won't ever ask you out. You have to ask them out. They probably felt like they had no chance with you so they didn't bother.

| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 7/24/2005 6:06:52 PM | Ohhh, Ohhh, Ohhh another Stunning & Ugly, Woman & Man selection thread. This time I want to be the good looking guy. I was the ugly guy last time.
OT - because.
Is there any other explanation that provides more clarity to this question?

| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 7/24/2005 11:32:01 PM | | If a hot woman wants to be with a geek (or "tool" as my friends & I say) that's OK with me I guess. I just like to have a woman on my arm that's an attention-getter, and I can't understand why anyone male or female wouldn't. | |
|
| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 7/25/2005 9:32:48 PM | Hmmm...for some of us, it's not all about having a "looker" on our arms at all.
For example, if a man doesn't stimulate me intellectually, there is not a chance in Hades that he is going to have an opportunity to stimulate me any other way.

| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 7/25/2005 11:56:34 PM | Hmm, for what it's worth, I spent 3 years attending one of the "neardiest" collages in the US, oddly enough we are also disqualified from the playboy's party school rankings list (1995 top ten party schools). On the whole up there a few observations come to mind, first off within an entire university of geeks we end up quite diverse: hippies, greek society, dorm rats, ravers, outdoors people, name it and there was a population up there. In this microcosmose of the social persons when you see some one on campus in the cold (9F and 15+ mph winds) you don't get a good look at anybody and this is all you see when someone first walks in to a party. Any one who lives in really cold weather should be able to vouch for the fact that in those conditions it's extremely difficult to look like anything else but an eskimo. At that the population split was about 3 guys to 1 girl. Oddly enough you find that the girls ended up in the same situations as the rest of the world, bad relationships (even with geeks), but several of my friends are now happily engaged. The male population ratio causes people to develop their own personallity fully. The many happy couples I did know up there found more than superficial aspects of a relationship. Oddly I, not being the type to try to steal my friend's girl from him, ended up single for most of the time there. Now that I have moved away most of my co-worker's don't like me at first, but warm up to me after they get to know me. Of corse I just recently moved... for the 5th time in 3 years (damn Navy), but I tend to have trouble finding girls because I am a bit shy, and difficult to get to know.
Any who, sorry for the long rant, my point is that stereotypes don't hold true and to say that all geeks don't endup with stunning women.
-oh, any girls looking for a geek in my area drop me a line.

| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 7/26/2005 12:40:21 AM | | Girls may say. "Looks don't matter" But, for the most part they are lieing to themselves. (At least most are.) The same people that use the word "Ugly" are same people that would rather wake up in the morning and, look at handsome face than the lesser. At the end of the day that is what it boils down to. Not your fault its the how society burns into our brains every waking moment. I've even seen it go so far as when people think that their offspring will, yeah... | |

| Why do stunning women go for geeks Posted: 7/26/2005 12:57:00 AM | | I am, by no means, a stunning woman...But I hafta say...There's just somethin' about "geekiness" that gets me...I'm not talkin' Revenge Of The Nerds style here, a little lower down the scale than that. Just somethin' about the awkwardness, and the way they're kinda insecure around a female...I just think it's cute...haha...But that's just me. | |
