It was kind of small, but I booked it on the internet. Thus the pictures were all I had to go by. She was upset that apparently I didn't trust her enough to send her a lot of money for my lodging and transportation, so she could schedule it for me. Yeah right. I don't send money to anyone I haven't met in person. She finally left, and told me to go home. Thus in the week I was there, I spent about 30 minutes with her.<

Posted: 4/1/2012 8:41:01 PM | dude took me to a karoke bar.....couldnt stop chatting online with his phone...ignored me but noticed every blonde that walked in..disappeared for long stretches of time...and after one such disappearance i overheard him shouting over the music to his friend..'if i'm dancing with my ex you have to dance with.." and pointed out some woman we all watched arrive with a date and was seated at the bar"...
i immediately found the exit...tosser. | |

Just past separation from my ex and met a rather attractive emergency department nurse who I dated 4 or 5 times. She had had 2 terrible marriages to violent nasty men. No physical contact at all during the dates apart from peck on cheek at goodbye and hello. 4th date we were going out to the nightclub district of Perth called Northbridge. I picked her up from her place and she asked me what drugs I was on when she answered the door because of the supposedly dilated pupils. Ummmmm I don't do drugs. I had had some Ventolin for asthma however, and mentioned that.
She took me daggy dad dancing (i.e. freeform) until about 1am - great night - love a good dance. Said I wouldn't mind a coffee, as I had to drive an hour to get back home. Walking to the coffee emporium together and I stumbled and touched her arm (N.B. I said ARM) as I corrected my balance. She immediately stopped me and said she didn't like it when I touched her. Hmmmmmmm. Decided that any progression beyond friendship may happen round about 2020 and I may not live that long, so decided to leave that one to fade away.
2 months later I get a phone call asking me to come and visit her at a psychiatric clinic. Not as part of her employment. I took her out for lunch on day leave and she drew breath and talked about herself uninterrupted for 4 hours. Straight. Circular breathing! I then made the mistake of saying one sentence about how my life wasn't on the best keel at that time either. She stopped the monologue, looked at me in surprise, and said she didn't want to hear about my life, as it would bring her right down!! Strike 2.
She turned up on a dating site again 3 years later and sent me a contact request. Hmmmmm - do I say yes. Ah well, should be interesting to see what has happened her life, so I agreed to contact.
First message starts.....
X: Hi, my name is X and I like blah blah blah, me me me......
John (typing at the same time) Hi X, how are you going?
X: How do you know my name?
John: Because we dated, you wally! (Editor's note - I still had the same profile pictures then) It's John.
X: ooooohhhhhh John! Here's my phone number. Blah blah blah me me me I I I..........

It's in the 1980's. I met this seemingly fantastic gal. We were both military officers from different countries, science backgrounds ...had a great conversation. She was an angel and a sweetheart. Why was this goddess available?
We went to a play on our first real date. It was an informal theatre and the chairs were loose...one guy was wiggling his chair a bit before the play started. Not even all that annoying. My date jumped up, kicked his chair and screamed at him to 'keep the ....still' . It was as if Snow White had turned into the Evil Witch.
Didn't dare try and hold her hand. Just wanted the evening to end so I could get away from her....far away. | |

Chatted with a woman and she agreed to meeting at a trendy beer garden at a time of day when it was quiet. I was to be her first ever internet date.
She turned up and took a seat opposite me. Eyes averted, body averted, legs and arms crossed. Uh oh!
I'm usually pretty good at engaging people in conversation, but this one completely defeated me. Monosyllabic answers, no reciprocating enquiries. Very obvious disinterest. Anyone who has ever been in this situation will recognise that a coffee then becomes an interview. The only time the poor thing showed any life was when I gently asked about her marriage and she started to cry. Mayday, mayday!!!!!!
Shortly after that, I said something I've never had to say before or since, "I'm going to do us both a favour and sadly finish this meeting now. Let's go." | |

Sadly, I'm so new back into the dating game that I wouldn't want to post about my worst date from POF so far -- he might read about it and recognize himself, and that would be maybe a little cruel on my part. But, I had to post, just so I can find this dang thread again, when I have time to read beyond the first few pages. | |

i had to wait to confirm my own suspicions of his absences ...i had to have visual confirmation ...the first few times he left without taking the phone out of his pocket and didnt pull it out at the table...so it was hard to really see what he was doing...being open minded i didnt want to jump to conclusions.......it wasnt til a lil later into the night that he just slipped and pulled the phone out to start chatting...he couldnt stop...thats when he started noticing all the blondes...and verbalizing it to his friend across the table from me...who by the way i had no idea was going to be there til my so called date told me as we were walking in.....sighs... | |

Posted: 4/19/2012 2:26:21 PM | Invited somebody i thought i knew quite well to my home for a meal . He was told before he came down that under no circumstances was he staying the night either on my couch or in my bed . Thats no problem he says i,ll get a taxi home. Well the whole date was a nightmare from beginning to end . As soon as he was in the door he proceeded to criticise everything about my home and me. The food i cooked was only fit for rabbits.(veg stirfry) The books i read were rubbish, the music i listened to was awful , this all said in a jokey fashion .He even grabbed my stomach at one point and said mm you could lose a few pounds there. He was so horrible and to top all that of, this is the bit i really can,t get my head around he tried to pick my nose. What the hell was that about yuck.
Thats when i very politely told him it was time for him to go (why politely is beyond me when he was so horrible) he said sorry i,ll have to kip on your couch don,t have the taxi fare. I reminded him of our earlier conversation regarding this he responded by going into my sitting room and lying on my sofa. He said sorry you have no choice im staying and thats it. In the end up after about two hours of trying to get this horrible man out of my home and it,s about two in the morn i had to call a friend and her husband to come and put him out for me . The next day he rang about fifty times and he only stopped when i got my childs father to answer one of his calls and basically scare him off. Seem him a few times since and he,s tried talking to me but i,ve just got up and walked away . | |

I tell him I used to hang-out downtown, as teen. He says, "Oh yeah, what corner?" I'm like, OMG, you didn't just say that! Anyway, I let it go as a very rude and bad joke....we pull into the parking lot and an asian couple were parking their car...my date begins yelling obsceneties at them. I apologize to them on my way by. We get into the theater and the movie starts to roll....he throws popcorn and yells at the screen. I get out of my seat, making the excuse I need to use the ladies room. HE FOLLOWS ME! Damn! I can't make a break for it! Movie is over, he drives me home and expects a good night kiss.....NOT! I slammed the car door, went in the house and locked the door. Never spoke to him again! | |

I went to a meet and greet with buffet, I was fairly excited. Well as soon as I walked up to the entrance, they were playing barry manilow, ruh roh, I went straight to the bar and adjusted myself. Most of the people were older than me, not good.....anyway this lady sits down next to me and starts grilling me, whats my name, whats my job, rapid fire interrogation. She gets up and loads up on the buffet, I wasn't hungry for some reason. So while she's eating and grilling me, she starts to choke, and choke and turn blue......before anyone could pull a heimlich manuever, she projectile vomited everything back on to her plate, yikes.....some lady helped her to the girls room, I got the hell out of there.......other than that, all my dates have been fabulous! | |

I used to go home to my parents on the weekends and work at a shop downtown. It was a very dirty job cleaning up a steel fabrication plant. I was so rushed leaving work, driving to pick her up etc, I didn't eat dinner. Well, we both wanted to drink Southern Comfort. So I bought two pints. Put one in her purse and one down the back of my boot. Walking in, they caught her with the bottle in her purse....a bit embarrassing.....then, after we finished the bottle I snuck in... I passed out on the floor,,,,embarrassing again....she pulled me up.....then going home......damm car ran outta gas.....I figured she would never want to talk with me again and she would probably tell the whole school what a loser I am....I was very suprised that she actually wanted to go out again. We are still friends to this day. I will never forget how nervious I was taking her out or how badly I blew it....I do laugh now, but back then it was terrifying.....at least I have the guts to admit a blown date as being totally my fault. | |

I dated someone who thought that the Normans had lost the battle at Hastings in 1066! then when I sed he started shouting at me and mocking a laugh and I got scared as he was driving at the time she he had a tantrum. He also moaned every time I drank water or needed to stop for the ladies and he drank no water all day - he ended up in hospital with kidney problems. and he kept groping my behind in churches or even at tescos when I told him to stop. | |

Thank God i've never experienced bad dating experiences, however. I met a guy off here, we were texting at first and he was very complimentary, he was very good-looking thought he did some modelling, he didnt. 6'3 tall so all a woman can wish for and yes he was athletic. When I first spoke to him, he had a deep voice I didn't like that. Then he began calling me at random times, that made me really upset. Told him I was not interested and to quit calling me, but he continued to call, I had a go at him. Anyway his persistence got me curious and eventually gave in and met him. He was very nice looking, tall such a gentlemen...but wait, he decided to bring his best friend on the date too. His friend was more my type and I fancied his friend, could not stop flirting with his friend, couldn't help it he was exactly my type and he liked me too but asked if i had any sisters who were all married. I didnt want to meet my date again but wanted his friend, I still want his friend but its just awkward, my date messages me but I ignore him, now how do I get his friend??? Hmmmm, | |

I went out with a guy on a 5th or 6th date. He wanted me to meet his sister as she was home for the holidays. No biggie. Anyway, we stay and have a couple of drinks at his apartment. She sits on his lap and they start tickling each other. Then, him and his sister start wrestling. These are people in their late 30s, early 40s. I said, okay a little awkward, but whatever. Then she goes to take a shower and he goes in the bathroom 5 minutes later. I left. I don't have a brother, but I'm assuming this is not normal sibling behavior past the age of 7. I told a friend this story and they said it sounded like a "Friends" episode. I never watch the show but yeah, I thought I was on Candid Camera or something. | |
