Posted: 6/9/2008 8:54:46 AM | | Although it's not directly related to the post, one of the biggest advantages to being over 40 is that we grew up before fast-food restaurants were on every corner, video gaming machines were in every home, and both parents didn't have to work to "keep up with the Jones's". If we were bored, we went out and found something to do (street hockey, baseball or riding our bikes). If we were hungry, we had an apple or made a sandwich, and Mom made a healthy dinner every night. I compare the average woman my age to teen-aged girls and the "over 40" crowd seems to more physically fit and attractive than women half their age for the first time in history. Add life-long experience, wisdom, self-confidence and self-awareness and for those that want it, modern cosmetic practices and you end up with an entire generation of M.I.L.F.'s! | |

Posted: 6/18/2008 2:26:37 AM | Sexy is as sexy does,,but like the poster above me said, its the age and the day and the time that has alot to do with it, also, although my daughters come home and tell me, MOM, i have customers your age ALL THE TIME, and they seem more like Gramma's age!!! People just cant believe you're the same age as some of the ladies i WORK with, its like comparing apples and prunes.
LMAO!! I also think that alot of our genes are inherited, and the way we were taught /learned to care for ourselves growing up. My Mom doesnt look her age at all.
They say that 40 is the new 20 and 60 is the new 40. I say GOD BLESS AMERICA!! :) Im gonna enjoy it! | |

There's a handful, that with good genes and a healthy diet, can trick father-time..up until about 55...then its all downhill.Smoking adds at least 5 years..so thats a no-no.Small window of opportunity..i'd say 40-48, to land a great guy, like myself. | |

Though I generally try to focus on the positive, truth be told, I've got good days and bad days ... and when the birds are singing, the coffee is good, I feel wonderful ... and no matter what I have on ... jeans, t-shirt, baseball cap .. I'll still generate a friendly smile and people I meet will compliment me on something ....
But take just the opposite: I wake up, and the cat has missed his litter box (again), my alarm did not go off in time, so it's late to work I go ... but my hair looks marvelous, and my outfit is smart ... yet, nobody compliments me that day ... I think people can feel the vibe ... It's only when I readjust my attitude and "breathe" ... all is right within my soul .... then I'm the sexiest creature on earth!

Posted: 7/10/2008 8:28:05 AM | Ha! I'm 49 - better velcro down that 'pizzaz' before it gets away! Maybe I'll get to that after I come back from cycling over the Cascades in a couple of weeks... My fella says he likes the honesty (takes more guts/experience to be honest than 'I don't want to hurt his feelings' stuff), most of us are financially independent and less needy. More communicative. Confident, and staying because we want to.
And to be honest, I'm much more appreciative about life in general! I'm not going to take him for granted; life is too easily snatched away. It's a blessing to have someone in my life at this point, and I'm very, very lucky to have found a man that I have a connection with, and I let him know it everytime I'm with him!  | |

Twenty somethings are depicted a immature, looking to sleep around rather than settle down, haven't seen the word etc.
However, age is just a number: these are stereotypes and, just like snowflakes, no two people are exactly like, irrespective of age. | |
