It sounds like: "I want men to want to do me." If a woman any age has no self-esteem, she will never be liked by men for long. Even if she had all kinds of plastic surgeries done. I think it is the confidence she exudes. At that age most women have become "comfortable in thier own skin". She is not looking for reassurance from others, therefore more appealing because it seems she does not need anyone.
I am 40, and a younger man I work with not-entirely-kiddingly calls me "Sexy Mama" quite a bit. We're friendly where I work, so I don't consider it harassment. I asked him - quite seriously why he, at almost 20 years younger than me, considers me "sexy." He replied similar to the above quote. I also have platonic male friends my age who prefer to date women in our age group (not younger ones), because as they tell me, women at our age have a) been there and done that, b) are sick of game-playing and drama and c) are confident enough to know what they want and go for it.
You could not pay me to be 20 again! When I was in my 20s, I was insecure, clingy and had no idea how to live life alone. I love being 40 with all that behind me! | |

Anyway, to answer the question... what makes women over 40 sexy is the same that makes men over 40 sexy.... attitude. It's the way a person carries themselves and their being comfortable in their own skin. Sexy has everything to do with attitude and very little to do with physical beauty. (In my opinion anyway)
