How right you are!!
I hated turning 30 because I would always second-guess myself,and it took years to realize that I didn't have to!!
And since I've been 40,I'm much more confident in all the decisions that I make,right or wrong,because ,instead of second-guessing them,I learn from them!!
Maybe it's because of maturity...maybe added wisdom or knowledge..who knows?
All I can say ,is I'm more content with myself and my life than I ever was before! | |

Thank you very much for your comment. But I meant every word I said.
Too many individuals think that growing older is a curse. Something not to look forward too. Especially women!!
But I believe getting old is like a fine wine, it only gets BETTER with age.
I mean when I turned 30 i was a bit scared. I was beginning a new chapter in my life and everything that I have ever known in my life, from the time that I was 19 as I knew it, was gone. I let go of a lot of people and a lot past hurt!
But I can truly say that I am so happy with the woman that I have become. NOt to say that I am by any means perfect....soooooooooooo far from it!!!!!! lol
Everything takes time is all. With getting older you learn more about what makes u tick. What makes you smile easily...what makes you happy more often than not. It allows you an opportunity to really look within yourself for the answers. To take care of you!
The wisdom one gains with age is incredible. It's what my Meditation Teacher always says!
He said something to me the other day that made an abundance of sense. He said: "A wise old man never wishes he was young again." This is true. Because the wisdom and insight one can ONLY GAIN WITH GROWING OLDER....is more treasure than all the toys of the kingdom.
Besides....it's only one's body that grows older as the years go on, but your mind, soul and spirit never age!

They just don't build them like they used to. 
The new models are too plastic, and are all designed for looks alone. They might go really fast, but they will be in the shop before you know it.
I want that '66 Mustang type of woman. Something you can slip into, and feel it's real power. Something that was designed for driving, and top performance.
Nothing like a sound of those classic engines, as you red line them.

Posted: 8/7/2005 8:01:40 PM | Montreal, I like your style of prose. Nothing wrong with your analogy at all. However, there's a lot to be said for 'high speed, low drag'. Lowest drag coefficient auto ever made in this country until the '84' Vette, was the '53' Stude lowboy. God, what a car.
But the point of the jist: When I was a young pup, any woman over my age was 'older', and not to be trifled with. However, when I was about 22 or so, I met a woman that was 29.
She was ready to leave town and marry me on the spot. Even went so far as to ask my best friend what color of new Harley I'd like to have? Geeeeesh, should have done it, I guess.
Of course, the thought of a 20 something kid in my life, now, scares the hell out of me. Other than the obvious, what in the world would I have in common with her? Nothing. As I've grown older, I more appreciate the blessings of women near my own age. Oddly enough, a forty year old woman now appears to just about be too young for me. I'm 54, and look it.
As long as she likes riding in the Vette with the top down, and can get in and out of it without the aid of a block and tackle, we'll be ok :-) I like to wrap my ass in fibreglass. Chevy kind of a guy. | |
