Hairy guys gross me out, but I also prefer the males with mutilated genitals, so.. We all have our preferences. The guys going psycho and calling us shallow should own up to having their own as well. Guys who love their beards will find girls who do too eventually. Just be yourselves, whoever that is.

everybody has hair sure in places an some are more hairy then others
but the exstreem hair i would call what your talking about in that area is what i call the dingle berry catchers..
an if somebody is catching dingle berries or still walking around with underware that looks like a 5 year old took dumps in it as a grown adult you have a problem you need to address in many ways..

| Beards??? What is going on? Posted: 12/30/2011 9:15:27 PM | | Ya...I don't like women that use eye liner...and if a woman has eye liner in her photographs it's a total turn off. I wouldn't even think of talking to that person....I'm not shallow though...I just have preferences...and if you don't have equally picky preferences than you're just selling yourself short. | |

| Beards??? What is going on? Posted: 12/30/2011 9:55:27 PM | | Stray you defend your point of view ok but I think you over looked one thing. You say "for the ultra picky women who don't realize...it can be removed..it's not a big deal." So to say this is to generalize and say guys are willing to shave it off? My experience and observation and discussions with men all say women try and change men and it is a waste of time. Men won't change. So you are assuming all men with beards will shave them off. Usually if a man grows a beard it could be a temp thing but like you have been saying...."maybe they're not looking to try and attract EVERY girl on POF so they do what they want." And most guys when THEY grow a beard they aren't shaving it off for a women. Please don't say they will for the right women, that is a slim few. They plain don't want to change if it is what they want to do. | |

It's in Off topic: "Is Shallowness really subjective?"

| Beards??? What is going on? Posted: 12/30/2011 10:06:34 PM | Ok, I read it....I have a question in regards to the beard thing.....curious..do you think it is a nature vs nurture that some people are attracted to beards/face hair on men??? Per the idea of being shallow in this aspect...could it have something to do, possible, by how they saw there dad or a mixture of things? | |

Men...wanna take 5+ years off your appearance? Shave! There are a select few who look good with it. Make sure you are one of them. Trendy does not mean it works for you or that it's still in fashion by the time you decide to do it & finally grow it out.
That said...if you still like it & want to wear a beard, please feel free. If you're that attached to it what difference does our opinion make? I wouldn't cut my hair for a man, but I also wouldn't be offended if a man has a strong preference for women with short hair. He's just not for me.
I had a full beard and lip lint my entire adult life, save for a spell in The Corp: I generally found it more acceptable than the bag that some suggested I wear.
Naw, seriously, I suppose it was the thing back in the 70's to 90's. Then one day I looked in the mirror and saw my Pa. Off came the beard, and all that gray, and sometime later the mustache followed.
5 years? HA, when I shaved I lost a good 15 - 20 years.

| Beards??? What is going on? Posted: 12/30/2011 10:55:35 PM | | Personally I believe most relationship type things are based on a nurtured ideology. I believe genetics are a general frame work that create our limits...and our starting points...but they don't really dictate everything. Many people are attracted to a similar parental figure. so I think it's obvious that it's nurtured. Bigger women were more "sexy" in the late 1800's then now...so that's obvious a culture change...mostly because being slim goes along with money and status as much as anything else. | |

100% agree

| Beards??? What is going on? Posted: 12/31/2011 1:39:06 AM | I agree, OP. It just looks gross & slobby ~ & like others have pointed out already, men don't appreciate it when we try to 'change' them. He's not going to be shaving it off for you, & bringing up the topic is only going to start a fight/make him get defensive.
So irritating. | |

Advice, to men to make them look younger. We all know that women just fantasize constantly about dating teenage boys..... ha...the OP's mileage may vary, but since I'm 44 & date men close to my age I think they'll need to take a lot more than 5 years off their appearance to look like teenagers. Now...some of 'em might ACT like teenagers...different story!

Gwendolyn, MikeWM IS from Europe after all, so give him a break. I hear women are much hairier over there, so maybe that influences his preferences/distain for the Brazilian wax
Bliss--this could be!
But I think some people just get their jollies by being "risque" in public.

Actually, in England, where Mike is from, we aren't. Just saying.

| Beards??? What is going on? Posted: 12/31/2011 4:52:05 PM | I definately agree with you. So many of these men look homeless & definately do not own a razor. I live in Austin and their beards are so out of control because they are lazy. They love to wear their hair long and in a pony tail. Woodstock is over!! Grow up!
It is especially horrible when they have the beards, wrinkled clothes, TEVA sandles, wear no anti-persperant, and nasty long toenails & dry feet. Go have a pedicure and go to the doctor to get rid of the nail fungus.
If they look that bad online can you imagine what their home looks like. I cannot believe that anyone would sleep with them.

Personally, I do not like any kind of facial hair on men at all. When I was young, I liked mustashes, but I don't even like those now. I like a clean shaven man. Personal preference of course. Also, on older men, a beard makes him look older.

true true beards on older men do make them look much much older..

Any guys with facial hair go directly to my friend zone.

| Beards??? What is going on? Posted: 3/16/2012 3:02:10 PM | Beards are AWESOME. Seriously. Kissing a man with a beard is a double bonus for a woman:
1. She gets to lock lips with someone as cool as Clint Eastwood. 2. She gets to exfoliate her skin at the same time.
Win win! (^_^) | |

| Beards??? What is going on? Posted: 3/17/2012 8:53:47 AM | | I have never been asked out by a man with a beard, but I love them! Really handsome, in my opinion. Especially if the guy has a great smile. | |
