Don't think I want some pot-head driving my kids school bus...or driving anything for that matter!
Nor do I want to be working with machinery with one where you need your head with you in order to work safe.

Pot smoking will be treated the same as drinking....and when it is...then legalize it, tax it and pay the consequences.

Did someone actually say that they should make tobacco illegal and then cast a blind eye towards it? lol!! Wow!! What other illegal things should we cast a blind eye towards? At least his hypocricy is transparent.

Hey guitarman, how's it going? Umm, I have to disagree with you on this one. I mean just to say it's a way of life for some is not enough to outlaw it. Religion is a way of life for many, and some would argue just as dangerous as weed, and it has been outlawed in the past, but would you condone outlawing a religion?! (I'm not religious, and I wish most people weren't, but that doesn't give me and those that think like me, any right to outlaw it). Weed should be completely legal, so should other drugs. And I find those that disagree to be a little suspicious (namely I suspect a fascist streak). And let's finally face it everyone, the single most dangerous drug available is ALCOHOL! And if you guys are going to be consistent, then you have to say it should be illegal and then what about the lessons of prohibition. And by the way, prohibition still continues....it's just weed and other drugs that are prohibited, not alcohol!! It destroys WAY more lives then pot ever could!

there obviously has to be a line...i feel that the less natural a drug is the less okay it is. when you look at drugs, the ones that are the most harmful tend to be the most "manufactured" i used to smoke weed, and it never ever got to be a problem...and i'll admit i miss it quite a lot. it was a nice relaxation, a nice way to visit some corners of my mind i dont get to alot, a nice way to appreciate alot of things in a different way (music, art, movies, ect) .....but not everyone uses it in such a way. but pot is a natural sort of drug, along with 'shrooms, opium, and a few other herbs (salvia, lettuce opium, ect) you can use them and get high and be pretty safe. overuse is a problem, but that's with anything at all, misuse something and it's bad ( ie, sniffing paint, alcoholism, chain smokers....anything!) ..it's when you get into drugs that are nothing but chemicals, or other drugs that are manufactured into more lethal drugs (ie the things you can do with opium...wow...lots of drug possibilities there) that you get problems. they're stronger, more addictive, more lethal, easier to tamper with, ect. pot however, i dont think is a problem. the people that ruin their lives with it, i feel, are just taking themselves out of the natural selection of the world. they kill themselves....thats how it works. you shouldn't worry about them to the point where you disallow the public from using something just so some don't get addicted to it. personally, i feel the US won't legalize pot because it's too hard to tax. too easy to grow for yourself, thus no tax. for pete's sake, i can drink myself to death, smoke myself to death, get prescription drugs that get me higher than a toke ever will, but i can't have a joint? argh!! there's a problem there....a big one.

Well, c'mon guitarman. You know first of all that it wouldn't be that easy to get for someone underage. Just as they can't go to the store and get alcohol. I'm not against an age restriction. Secondly, it IS that easy for them to get crystal meth now! Anyone who wants it bad enough can find it.

Lastly, this was originally a thread about just weed and you said you're against its legalization. I said that and other drugs should be legalized, but that doesn't necessarily mean ALL drugs should be. That said, I am closer to the opinion that they should all be legalized than I am to the notion that none of them should be. People find ways of ****ing up their lives no matter what, and again I reiterate that Alcohol is the worst of all them. Meth, heroin, cocaine included! Strictly by the percentage of users it destroys, it wins hands down. So, I ask, why should alcohol be legal and the others not?

DUDE GO FIND MY FORUM
UNDER :
OFF TOPIC
GUITAR ONLY
(YOU ARE WELCOME TO COME)

YOU CANNOT COMPARE ALCOHOL AND (HEROIN ,METH .....ETC)

-because you are not factoring in -"per capita"

sure there are more problems with alcohol than heroin
because 5000 times more people drink than shoot up.......not a fair comparision

5000 times more people drink cause it is legal...........

now what do you think the numbers would look like if heroin was also legal..................ummmmm

As far as the legalation of marijuana I must say this. I get the feeling that people that are putting up a post on here really dont know much about marijuana. Its legalization could be an understandable idea. But like that one guy said. Theres really no way to test you "high" level. And in case you are wondering, yes, I do know alot bout marijuana including its DNA structure. I smoked it for 8 years and got to the point where i was smoking half pound in 2 weeks. I no longer smoke. I eventually got tired of weed and started smoking meth and crack. I also did synthetic heroin. I no longer do those either. I can tell you this, your alot more irresponsible drunk then high on marijuana ;) Life experience.. It also does not make you dumber but does slow down your processing speed. Thats proven and tested. As far as the tar and such. Heres a great thing about weed. You can eat or take in pills to get high, thus eliminating lung cancer ;) And you ask people dont do this why? Have you checked out the price on a quarter of weed lately? (7.35 grams) Its costing more and more. And eating can take X2-X3 times more marijuana to get high. The high is also different and lasts a bit longer
2o-4o to take effect 2-4 hrs of high. Its kind of hard to describe the difference in the highs. And so ya know. You CANNOT overdose on marijuana. You would have to take in more then X4o times your body weight. For me thats over 5K pounds of marijuana in ONE sitting. Impossible. I was able to do only 1 OZ ( 28.75 grams) Why cant it kill you? Its non toxic. your body itself produces cannibinoids. D9THC is what gets you high. Delta 9 tetra hydro cannibinol. From the cannibinoid family. Cocaine is also in the cannibinoid family however its chemically altered and turned into cocaine from the coca bush. The coca bush naturally contains only 1% cocaine is nothing more then a mild pain reliever. BUt if you look at meth/crack/heroin and other drugs like this, your body removes them from your system 3-5 days. This also includes alcohol. But with marijuana it can take 1 week to 90 days depending on how much and how often it is used. The reason for this being that it is stored in your fat cells. Now, if it is toxic, why would you body choose to hold this substance? There is a theory that these THC molecules are also stored in the fat cells in your brain. Im not sure if there are even any fat cells in your brain but if there are I dont see why they wouldnt be stored in there as well. Anyway, bottomline is its still not good for you and it will influence you to get into other drugs in the long run just like alcohol can make you an alcoholic. Doesnt take a genius to see this. Anyway, thnx for listening to my bullsh*t. And good luck to you stoner out there. But make sure when you preach pot you preach truth. And if you need some good honest facts about marijuana let me know and perhaps I can provide some education and truth to the subject that has been clouded by many on both sides =)

I never smoked weed in my life, until i was 18.. I was going thru some hard times with the family, and friends.. I smoked a joint, and i felt relieved. After that, i did it for about 8 days straight. I will admit, it was the best thing, and yes i do miss it. But i had to stop. I had to get a job. I think weed should be legal.. For medical purposes and for self fulfilment. I liked it, and once i get my next test, i will probally go back to it. If you dont like weed, then um good? Im happy for you. Weed does things to people, that you cant really explain. It makes you relax, sleep.... Chill out. Thats why i did it. If the US decided to make it legal, then hell yea i'd do it. My best friend, was a regular weed smoker, for about eight years. He got pulled over, and he got taken to jail.. While in jail, he was asking all the inmates "Why are you in here?" And they would respond "Because of weed".. Hmm.. ok so we have people that kill others, we have people that do no good in our world, people that rape, really bad people.. and where are they? At home.. continuing their fun. Well, Then we have people that smoke weed and or sell it.. That are doing hard time for it. Kinda strange. Lets put the people that are tryin to have a good time in Jail, but eh lets not really worry about the other people. I know that isnt true all the time... but take a look at who is in the jail next time ya make a visit. And its hard to believe that a 44 year old has never done weed or drank. Espically Drank, But each to their own. This is my decision. Weed = Legal.

i disagree with the idea that it leads you to other drugs....not for everyone, no. some people have the understanding that there's a distinct difference between pot and most other drugs. the first drug i ever did was X...and let me tell you, i loved the hell out of it. but, i did it a few more times then decided the damage it does to your body wasnt worth it...so i tried pot. and loved it. it does no permanent damage to your body, other than the lung damage, but that can be avoided if you ingest it by other means, and for some, it does good for your body. i have ms....the best pain cure i've found is pot. that's why there's marinol, synthetic thc....because dr's know the effects on pain and appetite. for chronic pain sufferers and people with cancer, ect ....it's a godsend. ....so, all the time i was smoking weed, i never smoked more than one joint a day, three or four days a week. never before work and never before driving. you can be responsible with it. it's easy, if you're a person who's aware of the need for moderation and forethought. also, i was living with HUGE drug dealers....every drug on earth was available to me, any day of the week. heroine was more abundant in the house than food, for pete's sake. did i ever ever do anything else? nope. not once. i knew what those other drugs did to you, and though i was d*mn curious, i did not want to go there. i think it's a highly individual thing, so much like drinking and smoking. some people have a drink a couple of times a year (like me) some people drink themselves to death ( my ex and my brother)....some people have a cigarette once in a great while while at the bar, some smoke their lungs away in a matter of years. it all depends on what kind of a person you are, how well you control yourself with things. ...don't think for a minute that there was a nite that went by that i didnt look at that little box with my weed in it and want it bad...but when the urge was too strong, too often, i took a couple of weeks completely off. to regroup and get away from the edge of having a problem. i ruled it, not the other way around. it can be done. and it should be legal to do when it can be done in moderation.

Trust me, heroin would NEVER ecliplse alcohol. And I was talking about the percentage of users. And by the way, you are missing the point, because you acknowledge that alcohol KILLS, yet it's ok that it is legal, but no way can we legalize heroin cause it kills. That makes no sense. IF the fact that it kills and destroys lives is desicive then you have to say that alcohol should not be legal. Or is it your contention that the numbers of users that die from alcohol are reasonable and within tolerable limits, whereas the moment heroin is legalized, everyone will go out and do it and die? C'mon! The main reason heroin results in so many deaths is the fact that it's illegal and thus could contain other things. This is taken from www.drugwarfacts.org/heroin.htm

"The disadvantage of continuing to describe heroin-related fatalities as 'overdoses' is that it attributes the cause of death solely to heroin and detracts attention from the contribution of other drugs to the cause of death. Heroin users need to be educated about the potentially dangerous practice of concurrent polydrug and heroin use."

It also says ""A striking finding from the toxicological data was the relatively small number of subjects in whom morphine only was detected. Most died with more drugs than heroin alone 'on board', with alcohol detected in 45% of subjects and benzodiazepines in just over a quarter."

So I think education is the key.

Amen Kotagirl. Incidentally, to get back to the original topic, exactly ZERO people die from a pot overdose!!! So, obviously by that criteria it should be readily available and of course legal. And for those who are worried about driving on it, (which I acknowledge shouldn't be done by some people) what if you were high and you passed a driver's test? Why wouldn't you be able to drive high? And are we going to say that those who drink a lot of caffeine can't drive either?

Personally I'll have to say no to it I have never smoked it never will. but in high school I use to be like yeah they need to make it Legal that would be cool. Until 2 people died at my school because they were high and thought it would be cool to go to Jack in the box. One was thrown from the car about 40 feet. the other was bleeding inside and they did not save him in time. I dont have anything wrong with people smoking it but I think the outcomes are more evil then good.

Sometimes weed gets spiked with other stuff like angel dust, in that case I'm not for weed being legal it's gotta be nothing but weed and natural t.h.c. for my approval..Alot of people get aniexty from weed too, or they are allergic. What pisses me off about this issue is that I voted on medical weed back in 96' here in California we won and the feds said no. It's been a fight ever since. WHY VOTE?

Sometmes it is necessary to comtinue the fight even after a voted-in win. That;s why vote.

I've always tjpought of weed as a "gateway" drug...leading to harder ones. It has happened time and time again. But confirmed pot-heads will NOT ever even whisper that this is true. They become outraged at the idea. The whole idea behind a gateway drug is that it CAN lead to harder ones...but NOT in every case. I have read a of a couple ones even on here that "started with pot..." so where does it lead us?

Alcohol does kill so why allow something else that kills. This is not a issue of because thats legal this should be legal to. Come on people thats a grade school arguement. Alcohol does kill but its alot safer then other drugs, its not as easy to get addicted to.

So instead of trying to legalize for dumb reasons. Like saying because alcohol is legal then marijauna should well thats not a arguement what so ever. If it was up to me, Alcohol and every other drug would be illegal.

The day they make marijauna legal is the day i lose complete faith in society. I already have next to no faith.
