| Should weed be legal? Posted: 11/13/2004 12:49:57 PM | @guitarman, what the hell does that have to do with anything? I thought we were arguing on whether weed should be legal, You said 'no' for whatever reason which I'm sure I've already debunked. Now, somehow the issue has changed to other drugs and you seem to be implying that whether I smoke pot has an influence on my attitude towards whether other drugs should be legal. I fail to see the relevance. I don't do heroin, and never would, but that doesn't mean that it should be illegal. That is something most people on this thread don't seem to understand, that just cuz you don't like it or use it doesn't mean it should be illegal. Congratulations on thinking like Snoug here!!
@snoug the grade school type thinking is actually exhibited in your post!! You don't even seem to realize that marijauna doesn't kill. That NO ONE has ever overdosed on it!!! So now what backtracking are you going to do to justify why you won't change your mind on the question of whether it should be legalized? Cuz you obviously have no argument beyond the "I don't like it"! I guess your faith in society is here safe, cuz they're not going to legalize it, thanks to prejudiced people who do no research on it like yourself! My faith in society, on the other hand, is already shot thanks to people like you!

| Should weed be legal? Posted: 11/13/2004 1:16:19 PM | | The day that bush won a second term that's the day I lost faith in society...now faith in god is different. The first time I smoked pot I was 8. I have never done heroin or cocaine never, when I was a kid I smoked it alot but now not so much and once I went 14 years without it so as far as me being addicted to pot I am not. I don't care if it's legal or not if I feel like smoking it I will. As far as medical use marijuana gives you the munchies which is great for cancer patients it can save their lives. It's also good for arthritis, aniexty, and it takes away the reality that G.W.B.A. Is in the white house another 4 years, at least for awhile. For medical use weed is legal in California now it took many years after the vote even then you have to go to a special doctor once a year and join a club and buy their pot. You can grow your own it's all expensive compared to scoring a twenty dollar bag down on the corner which is what I'd rather do.. Alcohol will kick your a** and put you in an early grave if your not careful..I'll stick to pot.. | |

| Should weed be legal? Posted: 11/13/2004 9:03:46 PM | mmmm good let me say this, Im going to try keep it polite as possible because i seem to be the bad guy here and get banned for alot of things. So im going to state facts
-Your addicted to marijauna -your so addicted you don't realise that it has killed many people it has been a starting point for thousands of people that have overdozed. -Your so addicted that you are defending it and get offended when someones against it. -you can't see thats its a complete waste a really man takes care of his problems not avoids them with drugs.
So perhaps you should take a look at your life and take it from someone that was smart enough and succesful enough not to use drugs to get through my problems in my life. Has not spent hundreds or even thousands dollars on drugs that have gotten you NO WHERE. Id seriously recommend you get counselling because you have a PROBLEM. Believe me you'll have a better life and you'll have alot of extra money.
Marijauna has obviously become a big part of your life and you rely on it.

| Should weed be legal? Posted: 11/13/2004 9:13:37 PM | | well I consider the term going to a party and having a beer not getting drunk or intoxicated. Im using it in terms of going out to a party. Considering im 18 and have never been intoxicated in my life. OH and my records clean, more then alot of you can say. | |
|
| Should weed be legal? Posted: 11/13/2004 9:18:07 PM | There i changed it, Considering people make arguements like little children on this forum for a single word misinterpreted.
Still defending your addiction. Truly is sad.

Considering im 18 and have never been intoxicated in my life. OH and my records clean, more then alot of you can say. Get off your high horse. And for the record I have no record, have a house, a wife, we make good money, voted against Bush, love God, Hate Religon, and both are close to completing degree's, and yes smoke pot(while I do, she doesn't like it, but still thinks it should be legal).

| Should weed be legal? Posted: 11/13/2004 9:29:25 PM | Yea and you just admitted that she dosent like it, So you have no respect for your wifes want or safety when it comes to marijauna. You appreciate marijauna more then making your wife happy.
Take a break from the drugs and think of what you just said about the person you apparently love. Ive seen many cases where men have beaten and even killed there wife or girlfriend when on drugs. So i think that being said id rather no mess with something that controls my life to such a degree as it obviously does with you.

How do I appreciate marijauna more than my wife? I do not drink she likes to, I do not mean less to her than alcohol. We relax in different ways. I like music, she likes to read. I do not force her to smoke in fact when I smoke I do it on deck. And please tell me the story of the deadly abussive pothead husband. Take the bliders off your eyes move out of mommy's house and get a better view of the world you live in.

| Should weed be legal? Posted: 11/13/2004 10:07:18 PM | snoog. isn't it funny how you seem to magically know everything about our lives from a couple of comments. where do you get off? if you had read what my husband said you would have notised that though i do not myself like to smoke, i do still beleive that it SHOULD BE LEGAL! how then is my husband, as you said :
have no respect for your wifes want or safety when it comes to marijauna. You appreciate marijauna more then making your wife happy. my husband always puts my happiness first as any good husband should. if anything you should be taking lessons from him instead of attacking him because he doesnt share your views. what you read into his comments said a lot more about you than it did about him.
i am completely okay with my husband smoking i just dont want him doing it in the house becasue it smells. so he smokes outside. i couldnt care less. as i said and as he said, i think it should be legal. if anything should be illegal it should be the true gateway drug, nicoteen. i cant tell you how many people i know that have smoked pot and never done anything else not even drink. but i dont know a single smoker that hasnt tried harder stuff loooking for that first buzz they got from the first cigarette they enjoyed. now in reality i dont think any drug should be illegal, i dont think that the governemnt should be involved in what we choose to injest or not injest. they should embrace drugs and make money off of regulation and taxes instead of increasing out debt in the war on drugs that puts thousands of non violent drug users away at the tax payers expense.

| Should weed be legal? Posted: 11/13/2004 10:14:43 PM | How is that attacking him? honestly im the one being attacked here im just telling him what hes telling everyone else in his answer.
Also but what you said mainly at the end of that paragraph just shows your using personal experience instead of stastics.
Theres been some states that have stastistics of overdose and drug related deaths. 75% of those cases involved marijauna and atleast one other drug. If that is not enough of indicator that marijauna is involved in deaths. Then i believe nothing will ever proof this to you.. Also if you go into any health sites it will list the effects marijauna has. its not good for your health i can gaurantee you that, it effects your judgement. I can go on and on but i think the responsible adult would read up on that before taking it.

and keep in mind this is what he said. "She does not like it"
Yet he said he does anyway. badly worded i may say so. Or are you just backing him cause hes your husband.

| Should weed be legal? Posted: 11/13/2004 10:51:31 PM | Dude just move on. We can agree to dissagree on this topic. And yes I could have said -(while i do, she doesn't like to on a personal level, but does not see anything with it being legal or me smoking it)
There i changed it, Considering people make arguements like little children on this forum for a single word misinterpreted.
I can gaurantee (science, stastics, experience whatever) that there lives and health would be better without marijauna or drugs in them. Thank you for your opion but you can not gaurantee anything about my life since you do not know anything about me other than what I post. I have trouble understanding why you feel the need to "help" me there is nothing wrong with my life. I am not saying my life is perfect, I am just saying I could not be happier.(well Kerry could have won)

75% of those cases involved marijauna and atleast one other drug. What % had just marijiauna, what % also had alcohol, what % also had nicotine.

| Should weed be legal? Posted: 11/13/2004 11:15:44 PM | snoug, the health effects of marijuana have been hotly contested for years. for every source you show me on the ill effects of it, i can show you one on the desireable effects that also negates the figures about it being harmful. most research shows that the ill effects of pot are minor, having to do with the slight possibility of impared circulation in those with already poor circulation, the obvious lung effects if you smoke it (just like if you smoke anything at all) and occasion stomach aches in some people. judgement impairment has been contested hotly. reaction time, sure, but judgement? i think it has to do with the "good feeling" that pot creates making people feel less inhibited. the judgement is still there, you may not listen to it though. that's not the drugs fault really. i don't know of anyone who is willing to do anything on pot that they absolutely would be unwilling to do sober. it's just not like that. i don't care how high i've been, (and wow, i've gotten high) there was no way you were going to talk me into doing something i absolutely did not want to do. my ability to reason and know right from wrong and cause/effect was still there. for instance, i never ever drove high, just like i've never ever driven drunk. i know it's not safe to drive in any impaired state, even tired. (which by the way, has proven to be one of the most dangerously impared states of judgement there is) being high does not change that. i know full well what i'm doing when i'm high and i know what will happen because of my actions. any thing done while high on marijuana that is bad is only blamed on the pot by people who are looking for an excuse for their bad actions. it's just used as a scapegoat to get out of personal responsibility. if you look at the statistic that list pot as being involved with an accident, say, there's almost always another drug involved. the cases of it being only marijuana are much, much lower. this leads anyone with proper logic to see that it's the other drug which is causing the impairment. alcohol, ect. are very impairing, of course if you do them and pot at the same time, you're going to have problems.....hell, people have huge problems with things happening just from alcohol. but i can still go buy it anytime i want to, can't i? hmmmmmmmm. it's all just anti pot propaganda. if you look deep into it, it all falls apart.
though i suppose it's very easy for so many people to argue.....many of whom have never even tried the drug and have no idea what it's effects on the body really are. i'm just not sure i can have any respect for those opinions. i know what it felt like, i used to do it....they don't...who can tell you better what it's capable of or not?
