^^^ using personal experience to argue stastics. Hrm...

the stastics are there and if you think just by smoking the stuff you know what its doing then your very wrong.

i highly doubt you know the thousands of ingredients found in marijauna and the effects of each http://www.nida.nih.gov/Infofax/marijuana.html this is one site. Explains a little about the effects.

a government site....yup, gonna trust those stats. propaganda...nothing but. and i can give you more than enough stats to back up my opinion, i believe i stated that. i've spent more time researching the effects of marijuana than you'd believe. i can negate any stat you show me with one of my own from another source.

did you know that you can potentially turn the possible effects of any drug into negative ones? asprin could potentially cause you to bleed to death. tylenol could shut your kidneys down. cough medicine can kill you in so many ways. it's all in how you look at the statistics. there's an endless array of interpretations of any set of numbers. you can twist anything how you like it. just like you seem to want to do with the replies here...taking what you want out of them, leaving it out of context.

i'm sorry, what was your problem with that site? it's a well documented, well notarized site. it gives you all it's sources for it's info. i fail to see your problem. i can find you more, highly reliable, well documented sites if you'd like me to. there are so very many.

if you cannot debate resonably and as an adult, then perhaps you should stop. "flipping out" will do nothing to help your case here, just make you look bad. i myself can argue without getting quite so upset and making personal attacks because i'm angry at having my position challenge. some people can't. they should not try to have long, involved, heated arguements.

I THINK THAT ALL DRUGS SHOULD BE LEGAL IT WOULD BE CHEAPER TO SPEND OUR MONEY ON REHAB THAN THE WAR ON DRUGS

"Yes!"

At least in the case of marijauna...
All other drugs "No" except in cases of medical purposes supervised by a doctor.

There is no reason what so ever why Marijauna should be banned. The only reason it is here in the states is a personal vendetta of psycho path cross dresser who lead his personal agenda to corupt the american system to his will: "J. E. Hoover"

I still can't believe that guy is immortized with statues, bridges, bulidings, streets, you name it? Having his image or name attached to anything would be like putting up a statue of "Adolf Hitler in Jerusalem... It just don't make any sense? J. E. Hoover was a bigot and anti-freedom he should have moved across the pond he would have loved hanging out with "Stalin" and running the KGB...

Absolutely.I will never, never ,never understand the mentality that weed is bad but booze is OK.Alcohol is medically 10 times more damaging and addictive.Cigarrettes are more addictive than Heroin. As one who has run my own business and had to hire subcontracted labor I've hired drinkers and potheads in crews. If I had a choice I would take a pothead anyday.A pothead will always show up to work straight and sober regardless of what he did the night before.A drunk coming in with a hangover is usually an unproductive a**hole at best,a dangerous incompetent at worst.Nothing is more annoying than someone who has to stop evrything they're doing for a d*mn cigarrette break.
I agree that drugs should be legal and placed with certain restrictions in certain ares, much like is done in Amsterdam. The war on drugs is a joke.

Snoug, how about I smoke the best weed ever grown, then you and I take an I.Q. test, and after I beat you hands down, I'll smoke some more then we'll go play tennis, and when I beat you 6-0 6-0, we'll go jam and I'll give you a guitar lesson. Maybe we'll play chess (after I get really baked) and I'll show you how the pieces move, then finally I'll get really baked and we'll have boxing match!! YOu are an I*****!

if u do not wish to smoke pot ..... do not.

all drugs of every type should be legal, however, if you commit a crime under the influence, or steal to support a habit the sentence is multiplied times 5. 1 yr becomes 5. 5 yrs becomes 25.

People keep talking about the side effects of pot as a reason for it to be illegal. Okay, lets talk side effects. We’ll start with the subject of this thread.

Marijuana: Trouble remembering things. Sleepiness, Anxiety ,Paranoia, Altered time perception, Tremors, Nausea, Headache, Coordination becoming worse, Breathing problems, Increased appetite, dry mouth.
"Surprisingly, we saw very little evidence of deleterious effects. The only exception was a very small effect in learning new information," said Igor Grant, M.D., the study's senior author, a UCSD professor of psychiatry, and director of the Center for Medicinal Cannabis Research (CMCR), a collaborative, state-supported program between UCSD and UC San Francisco, that oversees 11 studies of the safety and efficacy of medicinal cannabis to treat certain diseases. Source: University of California - San Diego News Release

lets compare those side effects to some over the counter, and therefore legal medications.
Benadryl
sedation, tiredness, sleepiness, dizziness, disturbed coordination, dryness of the mouth and nose, stomach distress. may also cause low blood pressure, palpitations, increased heart rate, confusion, nervousness, irritability, blurred vision, double vision, tremor, loss or appetite, or nausea. drug rash, anaphylactic shock, photosensitivity, excessive perspiration, chills, Hypotension, headache, Hemolytic anemia, fatigue, restlessness, excitation, tremor, insomnia, euphoria, vertigo, tinnitus, convulsions, anorexia, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation. Urinary frequency, difficult urination, urinary retention, early menses

Now how ‘bout something you need a prescription for?
Prozac
SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include nervousness, trouble sleeping, headache, drowsiness, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, dry mouth, sweating, dizziness, lightheadedness, muscle spasms, or changes in sexual function.
Amazing how similar the side effects for prozac are to pot isn’t it, yet one is legal and the other isn’t, why is that I wonder?
And how about valium which is one of the most prescribed drugs?
Valium Side Effects:
Abdominal cramps, blurred vision, dry mouth, racing heartbeat / palpitations, shaking / slurred speech, urination problems, convulsions, hallucinations, memory loss, trouble breathing, staggering / trembling, headache, clumsiness, sleepiness or confusion.
Valium is habit forming. You can become physically and psychologically dependent on the medication. Do not take more than the prescribed amount of medication or take it for longer than is directed by your doctor. Withdrawal effects may occur if Valium is stopped suddenly after several weeks of continuous use.

trust me i could go on, you should see the side effects for alcohol, asprin, ibuprophen, oxycontin, xanex. the list goes on. if you dont trust my side effects list just google any medication +side effects.

I can see that it can't be the side effects that has led our government to demonize pot.
even in the sacramento bee today it stated:
"... scientists have published two studies suggesting canabis could be good medicine. one study by UC San Francisco involving rats found the drug to be useful for alleviating head and face pain. in the second... they concluded that although the drug dampens learning and memory the effects are mininal. which suggests that if used therapeutically, canabis could be safe."

food for thought.

Hmm...if I drink, I am paying tax. If I smoke pot, I am not, thereby robbing the gov't of my tax dollars that go to support our social programs. If I drink, I am supporting legal jobs in various sectors (glass makers, distillery, brewry, trucking industry, etc), smoking pot, I am supporting bikers, outlaws, and criminals.
Guess it all depends on if you have a social conciense or not I guess.

supporting bikers, outlaws and criminals?? hmmmmm...i dunno who you think i've bought my pot from, but the people i've bought from are none of those, except in the sense they're breaking the law by selling. not everyone who does drugs or sells drugs is a criminal or a bad person. a great many are simply people who enjoy the drug and supply it to their friends. d*mn, violent, unpredictable, homicidal, rage tending hippies....heheh.........i'm dying just typing such drivel. i wonder is some of you even KNOW anyone who smokes pot. i mean pot and only pot, not pot and does some heroine too....just someone who smokes and nothing else. i guarantee you they are no threat to anyone while smoking. i can't even fathom someone being even upset while being high....except maybe upset that the cheetos are gone, or that southpark is over. i know those always bummed me out.

you can in fact live a highly productive life while smoking. it does not have to take over your life and ruin it. i did it for years. i spent years at a very good job as management, made very good money for someone my age, was never late, in trouble or otherwise a bad employee due to pot. in fact, no one ever knew i did it. yet according to you all, pot is evil, bad and leads to all sorts of misbehavior and misconduct. perhaps those people who seems to go that way due to pot were already headed that way long before....it's really impossible to judge. it's very certainly no more of a problem for most people, and i'd say a heck of a lot less of one really, than alcohol. give me a pothead over a drunk anyday.

btw...just because you smoke does not make you a pothead. i guarantee you, you'd never know i smoked.
