Well, I've witnessed cars cause deaths. This convinced me that cars are all dangerous and people should be careful when operating them.

Die in your own single car wreck, your problem. Wreck with another car, your fault, and other people suffer from your car accident...

I don't see your point what so ever there. Your just being another Pro-social engineer...

Best part is I'm a non-smoker and I defend the right of people to do as they please even if it is smoking. I also don't do any drugs or even Alcohol. So I think this gives me plenty of room to talk and remarkable I'm for the opposing side... The side of the smokers and those who wish to legalize Cannibis...

The problem with freedom is if you give up just a little bit of it. Then they want to take it all away. I say everyone should own a gun, be able to smoke as they please where ever they please. I also believe that cannibis should be sold just the same as alcohol...

I have no desire to control the lives of others and I firmly believe others have no right to control my life (or the populace).... With in reason of course.

I don't want any laws about smoking other than fire safety. I want politeness and concideration of others. In a small space, it is not really polite to smoke, or spray perfume, or fart. Thats all.

Well, down here in the Lightining captial of the world more fires are started by T-storms than cigarettees. Far more people are injured or die due to the fires started by lightning than cigarettees.

As for politeness and consideration I think your wishful thinking there. Idealism isn't very practical or realistic but I admire your devotion to it. Nevertheless, just like freedom isn't really free it's payed for by blood, sweat, and tears. I suggest you start watching some John Wayne movies. He's a hard a$$ but he has a heart too and he defends both as a MAN should. Don't be a wuss and never ever back down. It's better to die with honor than live in shame.

Yea, the perfume thing is a bit much for me too but I respectfully tolerate it. It's the right thing to do. If we permit some to take that persons right to over wear their perfume then sooner or later those same people will come after something we will hold dear. This is why we must defend both the things we don't like and those we do like. If we allow the one to be outlawed then the other will soon follow...

NO, anyone that I know of in my town is reported. There is no greatness in the feeling you get. Why I feel so strongly about this. Two children ages six and eight where killed by people under the influence. I seen the eight year old get killed my self by a car full of high school kids. Every year there are a dozen deaths or more from this drug in my town.

I've never smoked pot in my life, but everyone says it's not addictive and it's totally safe like alcohal.

The people who say weed is not addicting are in fact not aware they are addicted themselves. First it’s the first time. Ok well it’s not going to hurt if I try it again. Then a third to get the party started. After that it will be several times daily. Even still you will deny it is controlling you.

Marihuana, I have not heard of anyone getting cancer from it then resulting in deaths. But accidents happen and that's when deaths take place.

Cannibis is not addictive in the physical sense. Mentally? Possibly but no more so than TV, internet surfing, shopping, video games, gambling, etc,.

However, I believe in the power of the ballot. If it's what the people want then they should have the right to legalise it. Governments are not formed to control the people it serves but rather to act as an insturment of the people to protect the things they choose.

Therefor I say put it to a National vote? What are you and all the rest afraid of that the people might choose to leagalize it? That's the same as saying we few will not permit the people whom the government is established to server, allow such a vote to take place. Why? because the people might rediscover that the power really resides in them and thus returning the government to its proper place as a servant to the people.

You as well as I and anyone else on here knows that should it ever be put to a vote it would pass. Why then make criminals out of honest decent people. That's in effect what it is. Take the Prohibition act for example back in the early 1900's. One day it was legal to posses alcohol then the very next day the same decent person the day before is now all of a sudden a criminal. It's no different with Cannibis? It's no more than making criminals out of decent law abidding citizens.

As for driving a car on it? any responsible person would realize that the same limitations should apply like alcohol today. As for the high school kids and the death of the chilren being contributed to cannibis. All I can say is that was very tragic however I've seen the same kind of things happen because someone was talking on a cell phone while driving, tuning their radio, driving with sleep depravation, etc,. I think you laying far to much blame on the cannibis and not the lack of responsibilty to the driver in that incident.

I for one say legalize it.

Perhaps it’s reasonable for a RESPONSIBLE ADULT to use, not irresponsible adolescences. Your right I do blame it too much. But it is for my reasons only and everyone has a right to freedom of speech. I agree with you about it all being in the head of the user. I should have cleared that up before when I had the chance. It should only be legalized if it was to be used properly. I will always be on the negative side unless legalized. Until then it is illegal, nothing more than an illegal drug corrupting are minds when abused.

Trainhitter, far more people die from alcohol related accidents than all other reasons combined. Alcohol is so destructive, if held to the same enforcement and moral critera as cannabis, alcohol would be banned, and cannabis legalized.

It's the other way around sky, remember that. Alcohol is already legal and it has really nothing to do with this forum.

Anyway we could all argue back & forth forever. How about this, simple and easy. Why don't we just say yes or no. I can't make up my mind so it's all up to you guys. Too many mixed feelings about this.

Trainhitter, I am a medical cannabis patient and advocate. When you say it is the other way around, what do you mean? If you want to know my view, I have a webpage about it.

Sorry, I meant to say that this forum was created to discuss the topic if weed “as they call it here” should be legal. I was not implying that you were wrong about referring to alcohol. It kind of came out that way but not as I intended to say. Just getting frustrated that’s all LOL.

I know a Canadian website that advertises and sells various strains of weed that they have tried in BC, and some of them seem pretty interesting...if you like growing plants that is. They sell the seeds as in any other seed catalogue. and they wil ship anywhere in Canada...
Neat, huh?

i think weed should be legal because over 100 milllion people do it any ways and ciggaretts are worse. people r going to do it so i say tax it and legalize it now im only 13 and i smoke but it just helps me get through. i have friends that smoke and if my parents found out theyed disown me but i think it should make us money instead of paying billions of dollars just to prosicute the ppl who carry it. And feed them and give them all this stuff in prison thats just costing this country more and more

in a word yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...............in over fifty years of testing by the fda.......they have found no, none, zero, zip, zilch, nada.........evidence that pot is harmful to the body.........the reason why it was made illegal, was because the cotton farmers would go out of business in the south,as well as the tobacco farmers.......weed was legal to smoke, inhale, eat, whatever you wanted to do with it until the 1940's......thats when all the crummy school movies came out about reefers and whatever the hell they called it back then.......another interesting fact is that, there wasn't a huge drug problem in the u.s. until weed was made illegal.........it was after, and all the national hoopla around it when people got curious about it........
