Have you noticed too that you can only send a "quick reply" once you've scrolled all the way to the bottom? This means that if someone requests to see a "private" photo You have to go back to the top, flit to their profile and scroll down through *that* to send a new message with the attachment.

Additionally, there is no Blackberry app and the version of flash used here is incompatible with their browser so that however much you faff about you *still* can't attach a photo at all by that route.

New email format is terrible!!!

New email format is terrible!!! Why won't the site quit fixing what wasn't broke!!! The subject line not only help draw attention to MY message but it also helped the ladies in whether they wanted to read it or not!!! I don't know about others but some of the ladies I have been in contact with that don't even come to these forums say the site is getting so horrible that they are moving to other dating sites, which in turn cuts down the chances of my meeting someone so guess I will be moving with the ladies... Horrible that they keep changing only to be worse!!!!!

For what it's worth...and really is of no consequence to me. But I've gotten more offsite email/chat addresses since the change than I've collect since I signed on here. The issue seems to be primarily the scrolling.

Clicking offsite cannot be a desired effect of the change. I would like to see the threaded messages stay but moved to the top with either a reply button or box above it.

Question for android users. Have you deleted a single message from your devices...and if you have...does the entire thread delete from your inbox? Or just that single message?

Ok. This Thread is nearly up to 10 pages now and 100% are against the new format.

That would be 100% incorrect.

My question is when is Bigfish going to put in an appearance here and address us??

He already has.

Having multiple problems...
Posted: 1/20/2012 4:49:53 PM
I am the person who patiently adjusts to change while everyone else whines...at least I was that person until now. My internet time is unfortunately limited and I am spending far too much of it trying to learn how to cope with the new format; it has, so far, been a losing battle. Although I don't feel confident that expressing our concerns will result in resolution, here are my top (former) features that are important to me:

- Being able to delete a message from within that message.
- Being able to delete one message without affecting all current messages.
- Seeing how many pages of messages are in my inbox and having navigation links to each page, instead of just Next Page.

I like nearly everything about the previous format better than this one (including subject lines), but the above are impacting me the most. I have used POF in different cities and have had fantastic luck where I currently live. I want to stay on and will continue to try workarounds to keep my messages and contacts organized, but it is already proving to be quite a headache. I'm sorry that I didn't take the time to provide positive feedback back when it was working so well for me!

Thanks for reading,
Kimberly

I find it quite strange that the owners never consult their users or ask us for opinions before making unwanted changes.

The fact that the vast majority are against these changes and yet still the owners of this site see fit to continue to ignore everyone beggers belief. They need to remember that while this may be a free site they wouldn't have any revenue without us!

If I see message sent and nothing appears in my sent message folder. Does that mean I am blocked?

I sent a first contact message the other day. All 7 of my pictures attached to the email due to his settings. Now... we have to scroll through that original email, plus all the pics, every time to get to the current email. So idiotic. Boo Hiss.

Also, my "Inbox" is no longer working unless I'm receiving emails. I haven't received one since last night so maybe that's not even working.

Can't click on my inbox (no link to it) unless I'm in forums. Can't get to my inbox unless newly signed on (or have a message). Can't delete either inbox or sent messages.

I'm sure this will go down as the biggest fish boner yet...

BigFish casually addressed up early on in this forum during the first few pages, but it wasn't to much of an extent. Now that more complaints are rolling out, he seems to have to disappeared. Hopefully the issues are being worked on and he's not just turning his back to his users.

While not 100% of the comments have been negative, the overwhelming majority of the comments have been negative.

I'm sure that this site is now a pretty low priority for Big Fish. After all, it has been almost a week and the system seems to be getting worse, not better and he hasn't commented in this thread since Jan 14th. Seems to have lost interest in our concerns.

Last I heard he was making $10 million a year. You would think he could put these kinds of changes before a focus group before dumping them on the users. Yea, I know, it's a free service. Don't complain. But that 10 mil only keeps coming in if the users keep clicking pages.

Have to say I don't like the new inbox, when I click on a new message it gives me all the old messages and have to scroll down to get to the new one... what was wrong with just showing the new one and if I wanted to see the old ones could click on view all messages...

Next time you reply, try open his profile and send a new mail instead of replying to his reply. I think that will start a whole new thread.

It may be a free service to the users but it's certainly generating income from advertisers. Clearly the community are not a priority on Big Fish's list. Cardinal mistake, the community IS your business.

Definitely agree Miss Allison they need to at least leave the subject for POF Events. They just blend in with the other messages.

yes, the subject line need to be there. As a party host, many of the people receiving the mass emails do not "read" them. They send you an email telling you they are straight. I have replied telling them to change their email settings as mass emails are sent to all ages over 21 and all GENDERS. Even if you reply and explain this politely, the reply again, they never read the message!!!
SO WHERE DID THE BLOCK button dissapear to? This is also a much needed feature as a party host.

I hope everyone find their own special fish, the one they cannot live without.

I just noticed something that I like.

It keeps old email threads and applies them to new messages.

So if you get an email and you think you may have spoken with that person before, now you know as soon as you get the mail as the old messages are still there (I assume 20 day rule still applies) where before you either had to go through sent messages or dig through contact history.

Though they still need to increase the size of the dialogue box and put it at the top with messages descending from new to oldest.
