Go to the store and buy a heart rate monitor and work out at a low intensity ( 64-78% of you max heart rate which can be figured out by doing 220-age) when you workout there it will burn up fat more than anything else for fuel. You dont have to replace those fat stores in full like you do with glucose and glycogen. One key thing about that, is you have to be in a calorie plus state, because if you are restringing calories, your body will continue to store and not use up those fat stores.
Which is why you should monitor how many calories you use up working out so you can make sure to replace them.

Fun, if I end up moving to your end of the Mortuary we live in ( * wink * ) I am taking you to Gold's. Then you do not need to get these videos. :)
GIRL!!! You gotta quit changing your damned screen name!! The only reason I don't go to the gym now is money/time restraints. Being a single Mom changed a lot but I find ways to adapt and overcome!!

| DVD workout question Posted: 3/31/2012 7:49:36 PM | | @wi1005...you make a lot of sense. I'm no pro, but long time exercise addict and can't agree more. I don't do/have P90x, but know others who do and from what I hear of it, it sounds exactly how you describe it. Don't get me wrong. I love a hugely high intensity workout when alternated with something less intense. IMO, the more variety, the better, for the sake of using different muscles as well as fending off the boredom! | |

| DVD workout question Posted: 4/3/2012 7:04:20 AM | I have completed P90x, InSanity, and am now working on the RevAbs collection.
P90X is a great workout that covers everything. Strength training, cardio, and flexibility.
InSanity is definitely Insane and lives up to it's name. You have to LOVE, LOVE cardio. It is not my favorite workout, however will definitely increase your endurance and work the heart muscle.
RevAbs is a program that also covers everthing: strength training and cardio with a focus on your abs throughout the entire program. I consider myself in good shape and saw results within the first couple of weeks.
Bottomline, if you are consistent with any program, even if it is one you make up yourself you will see results.

| DVD workout question Posted: 4/9/2012 10:04:26 AM | Another cool DVD to try at home is the JACKIE WARNER workouts! She incorporates weights into her routine and if you are consistent you will be toned in at least 3 weeks!!! :) you can find her videos at Best Buy; worth the $.... Working out at home doesn't have to be boring; you can make it fun/motivating by interchanging your workouts .... Have Fun Getting Fit..
P.S I recommend you do Pilates on the days you feel a little lazy for cardio; since you will still get an awesome work out! Pilates are also a great way to stretch your muscles on the days you are feeling too sore from your cardio workouts! :)

| DVD workout question Posted: 4/9/2012 2:04:14 PM | | Collage Video is a really good resource for exercise video's and information. It even has clips from the workouts so you can preview them first. | |
|
| DVD workout question Posted: 7/2/2012 8:14:35 PM | | I agree. Collage Video provides access to some of the best out there. Unfortunately, I think they also sell some of the lesser quality workouts so you have to be selective. | |
