| Why do women keep insisting that it's harder for them to get a date? Posted: 10/9/2009 4:52:46 AM | We see it on here. Women who don't look like a Barbie doll or supermodel have a hard time. Also dig the whiny gent on one post who didn't like single moms cause he only wanted kids of his genetics.
I wouldn't want kids of his genetics cause a boy might be a whiny little man like this guy. Alot of us, maybe most are single moms through death of a spouse divorce, alot of reasons. Mine are a bit of both, but single parents aren't bad people.

| Why do women keep insisting that it's harder for them to get a date? Posted: 10/9/2009 7:19:01 AM | I haven't found that true at all - that it's impossible to get a date. I've been very fortunate and have had many nice dinner and drinks offers since I've been a member here. I've also met several gentlemen in person and have been lucky enough to connect with two of them for committed relationships (the first unfortunately didn't last and I'm currently in the 2nd one). So I don't get the OP's statement that women are complaining it's harder for them to get a date here than it is for the men.
If anything, all I ever see are posts from guys complaining that women won't even reply back to their messages, much less meet them or date them - so I'm surprised to hear that "lots of women" are saying this here on POF.

this is a dating website, not a random hookup website. Our profiles tell you what we are lookin and NOT looking for.
pay attention..or get a hooker..we are not here to be used.
Speak for yourself, but in my experience on this site, there are definitely women on here who are more than willing to directly contradict what they claim they are looking for by jumping into the sack on the first date. Yet they still claim on their profile that they aren't looking for an intimate encounter. I'm not saying they're willing to have sex with just any guy on the first date, but in certain circumstances they are willing to bend the rules. So, while I believe most women who claim they aren't here to hook up are being truthful, don't be so quick to assume they all think this way. Women don't want to be given the dreaded "slut" label, so only a very few will actually admit they are open to a casual hookup. And if they are, most will still post in their profile that they are NOT.

| Why do women keep insisting that it's harder for them to get a date? Posted: 10/9/2009 7:48:29 AM | It is easier for women...this is why...
I find it funny when women put "friends" in the "what am I looking for field"...then in there profile put "Im only here to date and have fun, but if I find someone to be with long term then I wont turn it down"....
this basically means that she will date a lot of guys, and pick and choose who she likes to go out on a saturday night with. She has covered all her bases cause she has made it clear she only wants friends, but MAY like someone enough to have a LTR. Nothing wrong with this by the way....
Now, if a guy were to put..."Im only here for friends just want to have fun and date"...he gets labeled as a player automatically...cause he "doesnt know what he wants"...

Which is why it's not in the best interests for a guy to put that. Even if he's not looking for something long term, it's best to claim he is. And then he can date in the way that suits him best without coming across as someone who doesn't know what he wants and who may be a player.

If a woman considers consentual physical intimacy (i.e., SEX) as being used, why is she even on a dating site? Does anyone with a sense of reality not realize that sex is but one of many, but is one, of the essentials that help people decide on their mutual chemistry?

| Why do women keep insisting that it's harder for them to get a date? Posted: 10/10/2009 5:50:23 PM | Message 156 - Of course women understand that sex is an essential part of a relationship - no-one is saying otherwise.
What we are talking about is the way alot of men on these dating sites behave towards women in their first email. There is often alot of sexual talk so then we don't wish to continue talking with that person because it seems like that's all they're interested in.
In the real world a man wouldn't start talking about sex within the first 5 mins of meeting someone so why do it here? That is the real issue.

| Why do women keep insisting that it's harder for them to get a date? Posted: 10/14/2009 6:23:38 PM | It hard to get a decent date with a normal man! I unfortunetely am a freak magnet, and I seem to attract men who feel the need to share strange things on our first dates. Like the guy who, when I asked him what he liked to do for fun, he told me he likes to dress in women's clothes! Or the guy who proposed to me on our date - at first I thought he was kidding, but he was dead serious. One guy spent our date telling me how much I looked/sounded/acted just like his ex wife! (he, btw, called me for months, singing me love songs on my answering machine til I finally had to change my number) I recently had a guy who seemed to be really interested in meeting, only to spend our date on his cell phone texting someone else!
I agree, I think women are just as picky as men, and chemistry is important, but it's not the only thing. And women like sex as much as men, but I know for me, there's gotta be more than that - if we can hang out and have fun, and then have great sex too, I'm all for it.
I've been lucky in that I've had some good relationships, but lately it seems like it's been hard to meet anyone.

Posted: 10/28/2009 1:24:30 PM | | I think what Women mean is that it is hard to get the right kind of Man, but in reality, even when Women do meet and get the right kind of Man, it still was easier for them in the first place because Traditionally, us Men have to initiate a date.

Posted: 10/28/2009 6:51:49 PM | I have no problem about dating , perhaps I am a cheap date, that is why I am in demand, guys gave a piece of gum and I bring my own bottle of water and we can chat 3 hours or more ,to get to know each other, inside the mall sitting on those benches there, until the mall close

| Why do women keep insisting that it's harder for them to get a date? Posted: 10/28/2009 7:59:22 PM | I don't think women will ever have it harder for them to get a date unless they are absolutely hideous and have absolutely no social skills. For those I think that say it's harder, is probably because they are not pro-active enough about it, as in they don't put in another effort to help themselves get a date. They could still be cute/gorgeous, whatever.. However, if the girls don't get themselves out there, they are not going to get noticed and they are not going to get dates.
So that's probably why. They fear rejection, or they're traditional, or they're chicken.. whatever it is.. more often than not, they're not getting dates because they don't take the initiative to give a good vibe, throw hints, or flat out ask a guy out. So they hang around hoping the guy would ask them out, and the guy either is not interested or doesn't have the balls to do it.

Posted: 10/28/2009 8:11:18 PM | | its true, men are picky thats why i used to stay single! the men i met didnt like me for so many high school ass reasons same with women! men and women said i was "2 strong" for them aka a **** lmao! they said i was "2 highly opinionated" for them, again so laughable. i used to complain about gettin dates, i got tired of meeting ppl who didnt have a clue about themselves yet they were older than me until i met my bf and i am thrilled for meeting someone like him.
