Where do you think Peyton Manning will land next?Page 2 of 3    (1, 2, 3)
If he wants another ring he should go to San Fran. If he wants to money then which ever offers more. You'd think he'd have enough money at this point though.

A SF team with that defense and Manning under Center would be scary.

Any reason to stop being a Skins fan is a good one

I think Peyton Manning will end up in San Francisco. They have a great defense, the league's most effective special teams and decent potential on offense. What they need to make it all the way to the Super Bowl is a QB that can actually lead the offense. Alex Smith still needs his coach to lead him every single step of the way, so Smith certainly isn't "it." And Manning will want to join a team that is a true SB contender. The Titans aren't SB contenders, nor are the Broncos (at least not in my book). I think he would be a great fit in SF, so that's where I see him headed.

Well it seems like Miami has given up the race. Anyone know why?
The Broncos, 49ers and the Titans are in the running. A local Tennessee restaurant has offered Manning free pancakes as long as he stays with the Titans. That sounds like a deal maker to me, LOL

Does anyone know if there is a time limitation? I heard some time this upcoming week but I was wondering if there was an official limit?

i don't get it. it's funny how Elway was like Tebow will be our QB going into next season and but as soon as Manning became a free agent Denver was jumping all over getting him. The funny part about it is no one knows how well Manning will perform after being a year removed due to injury. Not to mention how well his health will hold up, it's def a gamble. Still think that the 49ers would have been a better fit for him if he wanted a team that has the best chance of winning a superbowl.

As for Tebow he should ask for a trade and see if he can get a starting role on a team like the Titans or Dolphines that are really in need of a QB.

I know ppl are sick of hearing this but, loyalty? ABSENT

It will come back to bite them in the ass and although Tebow won't be laughing, I will be enough for the both of us!

Before this past season I kept hearing how the Colts were an 8 and 8 team without Manning - that he single handedly made them a 12 and 4 team and a perennial playoff contender. It turns out they were a lot worse than that, and that Manning covered a lot of holes through his stellar play.

Unless you're the Patriots, Packers or (maybe) the Saints, you'd be foolish not to throw money at Manning. I think he really is that good.

And watching the one Denver game I saw last year, I think he made a good choice. The one part of that team that really impressed me was the O line. Tebow got tons of time to find a receiver.

Well it seems like Miami has given up the race. Anyone know why?

Given that Miami has reached an agreement with David Garrard a few hours ago, I would think that they had already decided to go with the more affordable and highly reliable Garrard instead of Manning while they are rebuilding their team. I think it's a good move for Miami. I would have liked Garrard in San Francisco, though, after Manning picked Denver. Alex Smith doesn't have any leadership qualities, imho, and Garrard is a true class act and tough as nails. He would have been a wonderful fit out there. Oh well. Guess I will have to watch the Dolphins more closely next season. I really don't care for them, but I enjoy watching Garrard play. Let's hope they make Garrard their starter and move Moore to the bench.

Edit:
The Sun-Sentinel reports that it was Manning who rejected the Dolphins. So they didn't give up the race, they were kicked out of contention.

There won't be no more than 3 teams interested in Tebow. Jacksonville and Maybe 2 others. Tennessee is definately not interested in him they have 2 QB's already and neither is the Dolphins.

Yet they were frothing at the mouth to get Manning. Let's face it, they may have 2 QB's and they still wanted Manning but it's Tebow they don't want.

He deserves a team who will treat him as a commodity and a talented, young man and not simply just another number.

Ooops, sorry Tim, we were just kidding.
Even though Denver will be shopping Tebow around to other teams, I don't think that they will just dump him without getting what they consider due compensation.
Now that Manning will be at QB, the entire Bronco playbook is back open.

On the other hand, Manning created a few holes through his stellar pay.;-)
With the kind of salary that Manning gets, money is missing to pay for other stellar players.
Unless you're the Patriots, Packers or (maybe) the Saints, you'd be foolish not to throw money at Manning. I think he really is that good.

I don't know about that. Peyton has played more than half of his career games in a dome, and with the Titans, Jags and Texans making up the rest of his former division, he hasn't exactly faced the toughest away games (weather-wise). It's easier to rack up such numbers when you're unaffected by weather oddities. Rodgers and Brady are better QBs in my opinion, because they are playing most of their games in open stadiums in cold-weather areas. And after those neck surgeries he might no longer be the player he used to be.

I think it would be funny as hell if Tebow goes to a team in the same conf as Denver and both Tebow's team and Denver meet in the playoffs and Tebow's team beats Denver. You want to talk about irony lol. I would laugh my A$$ off if that happened.

I have to agree with justmytypewriter; although, in my case, it's justmykeyboard.
Anyway, I think the cult of Peyton may be expecting too much; the Broncos are now 7-1 to make the Superbowl. I'll be laughing right along with steelcity if a Tebow-led AFC team knocks the Broncos out of the playoffs. Of course, the Broncos would have to get there first, and San Diego has hitorically been tough on Peyton so we may be laughing even harder if they miss the playoffs entirely.

Glad he's not in the NFC west... kind of mad he didn't even give the Seahawks a look, but I've never been that big of fan of his anyway. A big expensive risk, but a worthy gamble.

Are the Broncos management INSANE?
Good, now we don't have to worry about Broncos next year. Manning will bring down the Broncos.

My prediction, next year, Manning will get injured in the middle of the season and will not be playing again in the season.

^^^^That's my take on it too which is why I'm glad the Redskins did not act on it. They would have given up on a talented, young QB in the off chance that Manning remain healthy. Too big a gamble IMO.

I rather hope he does get injured and Tebow gets his validation. Of course he won't acknowledge it but I will

How would a Manning injury validate Tebow? Tebow should try to break 50% qb rating to validate himself. Well, 50% sucks for the average qb, but that would be an improvement for Tebow. Tebow is still a below average qb at best. The Jets are after jersey sales more than they are after a backup qb in Tebow.

The Jets have a harder division than the Broncos. If Sanchez goes down, there's no way the Jets sneak into the playoffs like the Broncos did last year thanks to the Raiders kicking their own ass.

So you are saying the Broncos would have traded him if they hadn't aquired Manning? My point is, while he may not be as good as some others, he still took them to the playoffs then was replaced.

His validation would come in the form of having Manning go down and not having Tebow anymore...Is their second string better than Tebow? You tell me...

C'mon Grace, you just think Tebow is cute :P ---- just joshin'.

He shows the clutch factor and has a positive influence on a locker room, but not sure he's got enough charisma to keep New York on his side when he passes for 40 yards for an entire game. Unless the wing-T formation comes back, Tebow is going to have to switch positions.

Never been a Manning fan, but I'd never root for anyone to get injured. A lot riding on Peyton's shoulders not just the big contract, or for the success of their season, but to quiet down the bible belt that surrounds Denver. Big gamble, but he was kind of the only guy that would have been able to supplant the incumbant messiah.

Grace may think Tebow is cute.. but this 200% straight guy don't give a dam* if he is.
I feel bad for Tebow because he is getting Doug Flutie (of 90s) treatment.

Flutie took 2 teams (Pats, Bills) from a losing season to play-offs only to be dumped at play-off games. Tebow took Broncos to play-offs only to be traded for an aging, declining player. This is not the way to reward an achievement.

Is Elway jealous of Tebows popularity?

Well of course I think he's cute! What red blooded woman wouldn't?? But since he's easily half my age I will keep my mouth shut further, about that

I feel bad for him too but my dad says I need to "toughen up" if I'm going to be a sports fan because it's not about emotions it's about ticket sales. Well that's a woman for ya I guess...So I'll never run a football team, but I'm a helluva fan!

If anyone has a right to be pissed at Broncos management, it's Kyle Orton, not Tim Tebow!
