| | 2012 Stanley Cup PlayoffsPage 5 of 7 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) | | I'm just glad I now live in a western time zone. This way I can hope for overtime but still get my beauty sleep. I was at a double period overtime game in Montreal back in the 90's. During the first overtime intermission, half the fans were still in a frenzy while the other half were nodding off in their seats. When Montreal scored it sounded like an explosion but then almost instant silence as everyone was zapped out. | |

| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 4/27/2012 6:16:16 PM | ST Louis vs Philly
Philly wins it all in 7.
I WANT ST Louis to win though.
<div class='quote'>Braden Holtby played awesome
Both he and the Rangers goalie could go all PAtrick Roy on these playoffs. Hell ;realistically all goalies could steal a series this year...no?
What? No riots in Vancouver this year?
SAfe injection sites; everyones too stoned.

| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 4/28/2012 7:12:03 PM | I think StLouis now knows how Vancouver felt facing the Kings on home ice.
No such thing as " home ice advantage " against a hot goalie.
|
| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 4/28/2012 8:13:28 PM | One thing I've noticed: you get hot goalies a lot more frequently with great defence. Luongo is actually under rated. He had terrible defence in Florida and made a reputation as the best goalie in the game. He had average defence in Vancouver and won a Vezina as well as getting two shutouts in a Stanley Cup final series.
This isn't taking anything away from Quick. But LA's defence is the best of any team still alive in the playoffs. If I had to pick, I'd bet LA for that reason alone to win it all.

| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 4/28/2012 11:40:34 PM | | I like preds. Might be the name or some history with female fans. Rangers and Preds game should be very entertaining to watch. So far we're kicking Caps ass but it's only game one. Hope they keep it up. Caps beat Bruins and that was very surprising. | |

Stanley Cup Final :
Phoenix vs Philly
Winner :
Phoenix in 6
I think Quick vs. Smith in the potential WCF is going to be epic. But the Kings haven't given St. Louis the Blues and the Yotes haven't gotten a restraining order on the Predators...so it's not there JUST yet. (I do like Philly winning the East though).

| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 4/30/2012 9:44:36 PM | | Kings. 2-0...well on our way to the conference finals. Too "Quick" for St. Louis | |
|
| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 4/30/2012 9:59:14 PM | I posted this back in September:
It would be no fun for me to pick the Canucks, so I'll pick a couple of off beat teams. I say the Kings beat the Habs in seven. The Kings have two of the best defencemen in the league - pretty strong goaltending and their forwards are getting better. The Habs lost in overtime of game seven to the eventual Cup winners this year. Okay, the Habs let me down. But I did pick the Kings to win it all. So I'm calling myself prescient.

| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 5/4/2012 1:16:27 AM | | who would have thought they would do so well this season only to get swept in the 2nd round they are down 3-0 booo but how bout them devils keepin the fighting spirit alive over time goal in game 7 over time goal in game 3 of the 2nd round!!!!!! to make it 2-1 | |

| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 5/4/2012 6:49:27 AM | | The Kings vs The Flyers, wouldn't that be awesome. Carter and Richards would love to stick it to Philly I am sure. | |
|
| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 5/4/2012 6:55:55 AM | | Yes, the Devils are giving the Flyers all they can handle and then some! After all it is the sure fire Hall of Fame goalie against the space cadet. I still like the Flyers in 7. | |

I wonder what the NHL/NBC would like to see for a final. I'd imagine that matchup would be pretty damn high (LA market, Cinderella...), though LA/NY would probably trump that. Might be the only matchup that does.
Oh yeah, KINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGS! 3-0...one away from the Western Conference finals for the first time since Barry Melrose's mullet was all black!
|
| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 5/5/2012 2:08:01 PM | | Exactly! Jonathan Quick is a beast. Kings will do a repeat of the caNOTS series with the Blues. GO KINGS!! | |
|
| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 5/5/2012 6:44:24 PM | Those Kings sure have the stuff. Wow; do they look good.
I would have never guessed.
Watch out for the Howling dog; they're playing in their house. (League owned; Phoenix)
The devils and Flyers are both coming out winging too; for sure.
NICE bandwagon King; for suure!

| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 5/5/2012 8:22:49 PM | | Actually the Kings have had the potential to be a really strong team all year. Quick, Doughty, Mitchell in the back; Brown, Kopitar, Carter and Richards up front. I'm disappointed they beat the Canucks, but I'm not surprised. Now they're treating the team that finished second in the West the same way. There's a lot of players to like on that team. | |

It doesn't matter because the ratings will not be very good. Hockey is not a ratings giant here in the states. Life has been pretty sweet for LA sports fan. Dodgers, Clippers and Lakers playing pretty well. Just need to get you a football team now.
I've have been truly impressed with the Kings and how they've played. Since my Panthers are out, they're the team i'm rooting for. I'd like to see a Kings/Devils Final; Hoping Brodeur can get his name inscribed on the cup one more time.

| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 5/6/2012 3:07:47 PM | It's all relative my man. The Red Wings/Penguins SC Finals from a few years ago did big numbers for NBC. You're not expecting NBA Finals/World Series ratings, but they were high in relative terms. That is what I was referring to. And oh yeah...
KINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGS! We're on our way...I can feel it.

| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 5/6/2012 9:18:53 PM | | Looking like Devils/Kings finals atm. After this round the Devils will be the only strong fore-checking team left. Looking good in New Jersey =) | |
