| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 5/7/2012 1:24:01 PM | | Yes, but having not had a Canadien(sic) team bring it home since '93, I think unfortunately- they have the last laugh. | |

Then again, the Monteral Canadiens might have used up the Canadian quota for Stanley cup winners.

But we do! All of the US teams are made up of mostly Canadian players, eh?

| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 5/8/2012 4:53:38 AM | | It's win or go home time for the Flyers! They have to play a full 60 minutes and solve the 40 year old future Hall of Fame goalie or shave off the playoff beards and break out the golf clubs. A tall mountain to climb, eh? | |
|
| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 5/8/2012 7:29:12 PM | Gooooo hooooome Flyyyyyeeerrrrrsssss...
(happy happy joy joy) Buh-bye!
(Sorry, Pete, that was for certain other Cryers fans, not you. You're OK.)

| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 5/9/2012 7:00:22 AM | And so, for one more year, Lord Stanley's Cup will not reside in the City of Brotherly Love (where murders are commonplace these days) as Marty (certain Hall of Famer) Brodeur and a swarming Devils defense kick the Flyers and space cadet Bryz to the curb and onto the local golf courses! Sorry Bryz, you do not get credit for an assist on the goal by Clarkson even if you deserve one! Flyers fans will have to settle for winning the William Penn Cup that they can fill with Yuengling Black and Tan and slurp down until they're heart's content. | |

| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 5/11/2012 1:48:35 PM | Cant wait for the Kings/Yotes game this weekend. Going to a tight 7 game series. I give the edge to Phx due home ice. Both teams have hot goalies and Phx has a tadbit better defense and LA has a better Offensive.
Then Monday the Devils get to lay the smackdown on the Rags/Caps. Caps/Rags both lack the killer instinct to a finish a series off. Should be easy pickings for NJ is the best offensive team left and Kovy gets rest for this back.

| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 5/13/2012 6:46:09 AM | So, we are going to have the battle across the Southwest desert versus the battle across the Hudson River playing for Lord Stanley's Cup. With at least one team from the metro New York area, it should please that used car saleman, weasel of a Commissioner, but I'd bet that he'd like to see LA be the opposing team over Phoenix, just for ratings sake. After all, it's all about the Benjamins! | |
|
| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 5/13/2012 6:07:14 PM | | Well so far both teams in a west look weak but appearances can be deceiving. I'm kinda glad Caps are out. I really wanted to see Bruins in the finals. It would have been nice to see more than one original six team. If Rangers kill Jersey it doesn't look like much of a challenge in the finals for them. WTF happened to Wings? | |

| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 5/26/2012 6:50:55 AM | My, my, my! Someone has changed her profile! Well, tie me up and tie me down! You go girl! Anyway, it's the seemingly unstoppable juggernaut from the west coast that will be coming to that world renouned hockey mecca of Newark, New Jersey to face the can't miss Hall of Fame Goalie and his band of demon spirits. Or as they say in the Philadelphia area, it's gonna be the Flyers west (didn't I tell you they should have never traded Carter and Richards, and picked up that wacko goalie) versus those stinkin' rat ba$tard Devils from North Jersey. | |
|
| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 5/26/2012 6:50:15 PM | Pete, I'm the one who gets tied, yanno Although I do know my way around a rope.
Go, stinkin' rat ba$tard Devils from North Jersey!!! Beat the Kings!
|
| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 5/27/2012 9:55:00 AM | | I've personally never liked rope, but I have done some work with silk ties and my job issued Peerless cuffs with some homemade leather linings. | |
|
| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 5/29/2012 6:40:44 AM | | I gotta say and I hate to say it, but I want the Kings to take the cup...New Jersey Devils will ONLY bring out the bandwagons out of their neighbors in New York! Just watch and see! | |
|
| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 5/29/2012 6:40:44 PM | | Althoug Sutter didn't do much to win any popularity contests while here as GM of the Flames,I would like to see the Kings win as I feel the owners of the Flames meddled far too much. | |

the Flyers west
Being only a casual hockey fan these days, I had no idea how much the Kings are actually Flyers West! After looking a little closer at the Kings roster and organization, I'd say that the Flyers roots are pretty deep.
Assistant GM Ron Hextall- deep Flyers roots Head Coach Daryl Sutter- brother of 2 former Flyers, Ron and Rich Assistant Head Coach John Stevens- former Flyers and Phantoms head coach
and former Flyer players, Richards, Carter, Williams and Gagne

| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 6/3/2012 9:30:43 AM | What's with the King's players? They all have beards. Ice is too cold for them?
Anyway, Devils don't have a prayer. Doesn't Bon Jovi own Devils? Where was he last night? They came alive in the 3rd period only after an 'easy' goal that tied the game. But they blundered all the chances they had in front of King's goalie. His name is Quick. Man, I can make a dozen jokes with that name.
I give the series to the Kings 4-1 (a consolation 1 for the devils). Will Jersey burn this year like Vancu burnt last year?

You must be a new fan of Hockey...
Growing a playoff beard is a tradition the New York Islanders started 30 years ago.
I guess you didn't notice that Jersey players also have beards ?
|
| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 6/3/2012 1:05:53 PM | | Earthling, all teams, when they get into the playoffs, start growing "playoff beards". Those last until the team either gets knocked out of the playoffs, or wins the Cup. As it takes 16 wins to achieve the Cup (and usually about two months), some of those beards can get kinda scary. | |

Not new, but I plead guilty of ignorance. Who wants to follow NY Islander's tradition, I'm glad all NY teams are out of Stanley cup.
But take a better look, those beards are not play-off beards. As if they were growing them since the year 2000. Some Devils players have no beards, are they too young to grow beards?
Whatever. I hope Devils make a come back like Bruins did last year when everyone gave up on them.

| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 6/5/2012 10:40:20 AM | | I wanted to congratulate the Kings for winning the 2012 Stanley cup. The great Jonathan quick is from Hamden, Connecticut. That is close to me. Bring the cup over here. | |

| 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Posted: 6/5/2012 6:32:55 PM | | Congrats to the Kings - and see y'all in the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs thread! LOL | |
