|
| Pet peeve Posted: 5/12/2012 1:03:35 PM | Unfortunately, I had to get rid of my peeve after he refused to use the litter box.
Luckily, I was able to pick up a couple of pet rocks, instead.

| Pet peeve Posted: 7/19/2012 10:24:01 AM | | I had forgotten this one, but was reminded last night. I CANNOT STAND SOMEBODY THAT TALKS DOWN TO ME!!! This irks me to no end, especially when I know more about the subject they are speaking about than THEY do. (Now let's talk really slow and use simple words and explain everything to the feeble-minded female, because if I actually talk to her like a normal human being her head will implode...) Yeah, I just cancelled on the date for tomorrow night, it would just be a waste of time. | |

| Pet peeve Posted: 7/19/2012 10:46:32 AM | | Women my age with tattoo's, man hands, those so overly worked out their neck line & cheeks are sunk in. Ohhh did u mean online too???..... hahaha How bout la di da di da "I love to walk on the beach".... Perhaps women with such lengthy requirements for guys in the profiles that the only thing missing is penis size..... AND that's just to send them an email. Ewwwwwwwwww........ | |
|
| Pet peeve Posted: 7/19/2012 12:55:07 PM | To try and explain the sideways photo in a light and non confrontational way, I am will to bet these are IPHONE users.
Ask them I dare you! | |
|
| Pet peeve Posted: 7/19/2012 1:15:16 PM | I have people that have photos with no smiles. What is up with that?
Oh, and sun glasses. | |
|
| Pet peeve Posted: 7/19/2012 6:44:49 PM | I don't see this on PoF much (thankfully), but I see it on Facebook all the time. Drives me nuts.
That's what I hate about personal computing these days. The operating systems and software, with their prodigious heaps of idiot-proofing, have managed to fool the absurdly techno-illiterate into thinking they actually know how to use a computer. But their true colors start to shine through the moment they have to do anything beyond clicking on a shortcut to get to their e-mail or social networking site. This is where the sideways pictures come in. Apparently locating and clicking the "rotate" button in explorer requires too much thinking and learning.
I wish people had to earn a basic "license" before being permitted to use the internet. Just think how much less of a yard sale YouTube would be, for example.

| Pet peeve Posted: 7/19/2012 7:37:08 PM | Pictures shot in a mirror with a flash where you see more of the flash than you do her. Turn off the flash!
And I agree about pictures with no smile. When she has a whole series of pictures without one smile, and I mean showing teeth and not a grin, it makes you wonder if she's hiding something.

A couple for me are when people make "assumptions" and "presume things"... happens a lot here on POF...lol

Been saying the same thing for years. Now if you can boot a computer and install a program you can call yourself a "geek"!!!! everyone gets a medal!! Yay! Look at me I can click on icons, yet I can't find where I saved my .pdf files! I have no idea what .gif .jpg .bmp or any of those othe dot somethings are called, but I'm a comptuer whiz!!!!!!Virus/malware infection? Format and re install the OS!!! Yay! I'm so technically savvy I can work at geek squad, yet I cannot tell you the difference beteween RAM and a Hard Drive... Hard Drive... thats that big box all the wires hook to isn't it?

| Pet peeve Posted: 7/19/2012 11:34:24 PM | Is a pet required? Is Peeve the name or the breed? If I don't like the name, can I change it?
I don't like the profiles that are super agressively negative... but it's not a pet peeve, I move on, it's not a big deal. The sideways pics aren't an issue for me, I read as well upside down as right side up, my brain doesn't process angles and I don't turn my head to see sideways pics
I guess really lousy grammar- if they have "to children" instead of two.... Yeah, that is a quick pass for me. Only if it is a lot of errors though- everyone makes mistakes from time to time

| Pet peeve Posted: 7/20/2012 8:04:46 AM | Not much shocks, irritates or otherwise offends me on here anymore.
What I initially (6+ years ago) found annoying, I actually now see as humorous -- maybe entertaining even.

I wonder how many guys pass on a photo that is poorly lit with no contrast? I might. 1. Because if I can't see what someone really looks like, pass. Same goes for sunglasses pics, pics sitting in your car (really, what's that about?), and bathroom mirror self-photos (seriously, don't people have one friend who can take a decent photo of you?) and 2. I'm a photography snob.

| Pet peeve Posted: 7/20/2012 10:30:18 AM | My pet peeve is people who equate intelligence with specific knowledge sets. There are smart people who can explain macro economics but can't change a tire. Colleges have required computer lab courses, yet, smart people are in those courses because they need them and can't test out.
If you are nitpicking at someone's self promotion skills, you are missing their values and that compatibility is what makes a relationship. I actually just found out one of the smartest and coolest guys I know can barely operate a computer. His life has been spent on other things, mostly outdoors.
I do have trouble when someone's grammar and reading comprehension is horrible, because I tend to communicate through writing more than any other way. Actually, I consider that as the top thing I look for, over appearance and job and all else, because if there is any common thread in my past relationships, it was men who had poor English skills and would only admit, years later, after a lot of conflict, that they never understood me in a basic English comprehension form, and would just pretend. Now, my best friends are strong verbal and written communicators and I find the lack of conflict over avoidable misunderstandings, has become something that I NEED.
If you can't read and comprehend my profile, or don't want to, you ain't the guy for me.

| Pet peeve Posted: 7/20/2012 12:28:53 PM | My pet peeves are when people cannot pronounce my F**king name seriously its spelled the way it sounds not difficult. When people stare Chewing loudly smacking lips B.O. oblivious people hmm I thnk thats all of them :) | |
|
| Pet peeve Posted: 7/20/2012 7:46:35 PM | now you all have me thinking about getting another pet and naming it "peeve". maybe it should have a "comb over". | |
|
| Pet peeve Posted: 7/21/2012 7:43:04 AM | | I am with you about the kids in the picture... also WHY is there anyone in the picture except the person that is looking for someone on this site? YOU are the one looking so YOU should be in the picture... ALONE!!!! | |

Gwendolyn2010 I have actually contacted several men with sideways pics and told them how to use Paint or Irfan view to rotate them. They all confessed computer illiteracy--I doubt that they understood my directions.
If you have Vista or Win7, the capability to rotate pictures comes with the OS.

| Pet peeve Posted: 7/21/2012 6:01:35 PM | My pet peeve is headlines that say something along the lines of No cheaters, No liars, or a headline that complains this site is a joke, or they threaten to delete their profile
First of all, no headline is going to deter a chronic cheater. Its not like they are going to read a headline saying no liars no cheaters and think that someone is on to them. Actually, it may end up being a challenge for them. If a person gripes about this site, delete your profile already! A piss poor attitude is a turn off for anyone.
