| Navel piercings - does a navel piercing make a woman look slutty?

When I was a groovy chick, hipster pants were in. I would have had my navel pierced in a heart beat, if it was in stlye.
Navel piercings are not for the groovy hen I am today. ":( | |

I personally only have my ears pierced, yet its been years since I have had anything in them. I have two tattoos, and plan on getting some more ink work done. But nothing that cant be covered with a short sleeve business suit... just my preference and with what I do for a living. But it all comes down to personal experession. If your a ****ing moron, your demeanor as well as your choice in body art will soon express that. However if your a classy, high end person, the same will apply. Because a group (A) has a certain characteristic does not make that characteristic that groups defining trait. nor is said characteristic necessary or sufficient to belong to group (A)
Secondly, you, like all americans , need to lay off the extreme binary oppositions (Good/Evil). In this case Slutty/Wholesome. Seriously isn't 'a little slutty' an americans clunky (and inacurate) way to say sensual, erotic, exotic, sexy etc..
So to finnaly respond to your question, despite its retardation, No "a woman with her navel pierced {does not} make her look slutty" because its not thepircing that makes a slut look like a slut.
A navel piercing definatelly has sexual conotations, if not only because to see it she has to (A) be showing some skin or (B) have her shirt off (yeah!). But sexual conotations do not make for a slut, unless of course you are an American.
ps using you logic about the pornstars: all religious fanatics seem to go to church. does that make everyone that goes to church a religious crazy-bible-thumping-fanatic? NO GOD BLESS AMERICA | |

Posted: 11/9/2004 5:20:14 AM | I actually tried the tongue ring thing, too. It was the least painful piercing I have had. I did it because I wanted to try something a little risque and not permanent. I loved it. It did get in the way of kissing. I got instant cool points with my daughter's friends, not that the car doesn't give me enough; they all love it.
I am a computer programmer for a worldwide communications company. People were very surprised to see me with one but were curious and asked lots of questions. I didn't get fired, lose any friends, get ridiculed or called trashy. I dress fairly conservatively and am very competent at my job. I don't have it now but I did enjoy it. *shrug* I just wanted to try it. Just like I wanted to try skydiving...I didn't do THAT because I have low self esteem. I just wanted to try it  Sometimes I do that. | |

Personally, I've known a couple of guys who got their nips done and it depends on the guy. If he doesn't stay in reasonably good shape, it doesn't look good. Otherwise, I've thought it kind of sexy.

Back to uhhh...navel rings. Yeah!
Hmmm... I wonder if I need more ink and metal? Kinda hard to be part of the "In" croud around here these days....

I just like them. I got one tattoo in July, and then another on my left shoulder in August. I don't really care if anyone else likes them or not, I do. I don't think slutty is as much how you look, as how you act. You can wear a business suit with your hair in a church mama's bun, and still look slutty if you are all up on someone. | |

Posted: 12/4/2004 7:07:06 PM | I've had my navel pierced sinceI was 18. I love it. I have a tiny 14 gauge ring, nothing fancy. I used to show it off when I first got it (also the short, baby-tees were in vogue then) but since a few ago I haven't revealed it publicly at all. I don't feel that I portray myself as a slut in any form, but who knows how others saw me back then.
I don't think body mods should define one's sexual behavior, but I can understand that there exists a connotation that connects the two. | |

Posted: 12/10/2004 12:32:06 PM | I don't have my belly button pierced, but want to- I'm not comfortable with the way my stomach looks to have it done. And I've had 2 minor surgerys (sp?) that they've had to cut into my belly button and may end up needing more so I don't want to waste the money on the piercing to have to have it redone. My best friends' love thiers- they don't look slutty at all.
As far as the nipple piercing on a man- I've been with a guy who had his done but didn't wear it but his nipples were soo sensitive afterward, it made sex soo much fun.
And the tattoo thing (I know it was another thread but it's been mentioned), I personally have 2, can cover them up or show them, they're in the best places. I got them as part of who I am, something I loved. I've also seen many girls with some in not so easy to cover places and they still look good. It's all in how you carry yourself and feel about yourself. If someone else doesn't like it- they don't have to look! | |

I have major tattoo coverage.... like shoulder to ankle...one tattoo.... but it isn't on my arms... doesn't show when I teach school...and I would say 90 of the people that know me have no idea...they think i am extremely conservative because of the clothes I wear...they see the varied piercings that I have in my ears....but not my other piercings... they are for me... not for anyone else...unless I decide to allow them to see them.... . | |
