If the guy(or girl) is worth it.. they are worth waiting til you've been on several dates first. The men on here who go on and on about sex and want it on the first date don't want to find a relationship. They just want a one nighter. I have yet to have a date from POF that called me again when I said no to sex after the first meeting. The one relationship I've had from someone I met on POF lasted 7 months and we had talked on the phone for a few weeks before even meeting.
I dont have any weird or strange stories about anyone from here.. but I had someone add me on yahoo once that I apparently used to work with several years ago. He told me he had always found me pretty and nice and looked me up somehow to find my yahoo. He asked if i had ever been interested in him and I said that he was really shy but seemed nice. I chuckled, thought he was kidding...and brushed it off. He was persistent, and I finally had to tell him that it wasnt a wise idea to invite a woman out at midnite to take a walk in a dark park. He couldnt understand it at all, and when I took the "if you had a daughter avenue" he got quite hostile, and belligerent.
Needless to say, as the anger level rose, I got more and more creeped out, and ended up blocking him. People sometimes surprise me to say the least.
None the worse for the wear though, and a one off by all appearances. | |

Beefed himself up, called and texted everyday, so finally I accepted an invitation for a "grand night on the town." Dude planned everything, insisted on pickin me up and without me mentioning it, declared he would pay for the night. Guy came and picked me we started with sushi. Everytime i tried to order, he trumped over me telling me he would order. He ordered our whole meal and even my drinks. Afterwards i really wanted to just go. I have never felt more like a child, well since i was a child. He didn;t want to end the night.. insisted on going out for drinks. We went to the bar, he order drinks for me. Turns out he doesn't drink.. I mean WTF? Finally I told him I was leaving. He puleld the car around and said that if i paid him half of the bill that he spent on the night he would give me a ride home! Winner, huh.
Another one insisted that I was his soulmate after one coffee date...he found out where i lived and semi stalked me for couple weeks. He would leave creepy notes that described what i wore to bed the night before or how he would bring me the moon and the stars, he'd leave flowers, and finally he figured out where i worked. He started stalking me there. Unltimately, he ended up damaging mt car when I confronted him after he startled me leaving for the day...While he was being arrested he was screaming about how obtuse I was and that we were meant be together...ya after a 20 minute coffe date.
Let's not start with all the guys who claim they are looking for a relationship and/or longterm, but then message really only wanting a FB or FWB... I mean there's craigslist for that...
I hear ya.. lots of weird ones out there, I'm sure both men and women. | |

Things ended on a strange note with several gals I met through here:
1) She taught special ed. A student pulled her hair; his retard strength gave her whiplash. She still wanted to go out on what would have been our third date, driving on meds with whiplash.
2) The morning of a planned date, she sends messages claiming her car was damaged when a train derailed as she drove under a bridge, with an open freight car spilling items on her car. She said she was on her way home from visiting nephews and nieces, but the derailment occurred after midnight, as if little kids would stay up that late. Said she would still go on the date. I told her I was going out the door. She stood me up.
3) She had two permanent dogs and said she had a foster dog at home. There was talk of extending a first meet into dinner (drinking a bucket of beer her idea). She claimed she had fed one dog before leaving but not another. I didn't want the dog to get hungry or the foster to get lonely so I said another day. Of course we never saw each other again. Who doesn't feed all dogs at the same time? | |

There was one though. I waited nearly 20 minutes for her at the agreed upon meeting spot. I called her to make sure I was at the right place and she apologized and said she was on her way. It took her another 15 minutes to show so over 30 minutes late. She then proceeded to order a carafe of wine and then followed that up with two Jaegerbombs as we talked and after about an hour of this she asked me if we could go buy a bottle of vodka and go back to my place. I respectfully declined! :-D | |

I initiated contact with a POF woman in my local area, sent about a 3 paragraph first time message (I know, kinda long for a opening message when you don't know if they will respond or not). 3 weeks go by and at this point I've figured, ok, she's not into my profile & or my pics weren't up to her standards (no big deal), and wrote it off to keep fishing. Out of the blue I finally get a message back from her, but it didn't really address any of the questions I had in the initial message. It was a short and to the point reply along the lines of, "Hey you, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, Wanna meet up for a late dinner at Jim's?" (Jim's is a 24/7 restaurant throughout south Texas for those of you wondering, kinda like an iHop meets Denny's kinda place).
No alarms went off in my head and I figured sure, I'll meet up with her in person. I respond with a time, date, and even offer to pay for her meal (like a gentlemen would).
Everything seems to go great, we talk a bit, we eat, we smile, we laugh, and we decide that the evening is over, but with an option to contact each other again. I know, nothing odd yet, but here's where it kicks into high gear. The waitress comes over and puts the check on the table, so naturally I slide the check over to me. As the waitress starts to walk away my date gets her attention with an "Excuse me, but can I order one more thing?". Now, I'm thinking she's thinking about dessert, maybe a slice of cake or pie, or ice cream. So when she glances over at me I give a slightly confused but green light nod. I'm sure anyone wouldn't deny their date dessert, right?...
So the waitress pulls out her paper & pen & my date proceeds to order 3 more full meals. I'm so stunned listening to what's happening that in the back of my head it's registering that she's just being funny and playing a joke. I'm speechless for about 2 minutes, which is just enough time for the order to be completed & the waitress walks away. My date looks me in the eyes, gives a smile & thanks me because her 3 children haven't eaten all day and they will be SOO happy when she brings them home some food.
At this point I'm stuck between a rock & a hard place. Deep down I'm livid , but at the same time understanding of potentially starving children. I'll never let that type of date happen again, however, I have to be curious if any other guys have gotten hit with the same type con. I call it a con Only because there was no disclosure, I think she should have at least been honest with me & disclosed her intentions without sneaking it in at the end like that. And you guessed it, she never contacted me again after that night. lol
Note: Since the con happened technically at the end of the date, I figured it qualified in this thread topic as something strange that happened after meeting. :)
