We all get those. I get messaged by pudgy, balding men who don't have anything in common with me at all. Just last night, I got one from a 72 year old who wrote that if I was ever looking for a relationship with someone who doesn't like gaming, politics or science then hit him up...

Whoa, sounds like a winner.

Geez, I wish I could harness all the bitterness expressed in this thread. I'm sure it would be enough to power my car for the rest of its life, ha.

I'm not bitter about the man who messaged me. I sorta like a bit of pudge and I don't mind balding men. I do think messaging someone you have nothing in common with and are almost 40 years older than is a bit much though.

It's weird and creepy to message someone you have nothing in common with...the age difference just pushes into gross territory.

Yeah, like I totally want to hang out with someone almost 50 years older than me that I have nothing in common with. Yup.

Stop. Im putting and end to my negativity and...

Good. That is a positive statement and showing you are taking responsibility, dropping the "victim" mentality and are moving in the right direction.

But...

...you arent helping. I dont need help from someone who is just nasty to me telling me im gross and flabby.Women dont like men who put others down to make themselves feel better. It seems you and capn gain confidence off treating me like im worthless stop the goddamn shit already. Im not worthless and Im not flabby or ugly. Neither of you two are perfect so stop picking on me. I never once attacked either of you and its sad you guys are acting like bullies

Oh dear. It didn't last did it?

So, OP, what would YOU describe as an average man in your age range?
I've read that about 1/3 of US men are overweight and 1/3 are obese, geographically those numbers increase in the southern states and they increase with age.
Also, 25% of men begin balding at age 30, and 2/3 of men begin balding at age 60.
2/3 of US men are between 5'7" and 6'1".
Average net worth US 35-44 is $50K.

in those 27 pages, there are different arguments from both sex's, and it just goes to show, that some men and women are the same, whether its positive or negative,... i think this was a pretty good forum,.. its like the tree fell in the forest though! lol

Basically noone will settle thats what it comes down to and neither sex will lower their expectations or standards. People are going to have to deal with it myself included. But if you can fix yourself to target a better type of man or woman do it

This is just something I have noticed recently. Women over 30 seem to think they are less attractive than they are and men have absolutely no problem with self-esteem. I cannot get over how many guys are on forums whining about how they think they are really good looking and can't understand why the hot girls won't respond... when they realy are most of them quite average. What delusion sets in at about 30 that makes a pudgy balding rather unkempt looking guy think he is still 19 and the quarterback and able to get any woman that walks by him? I have been baffled. I know I am really just average looking, not overweight per se... but I have large teeth and sometimes wear glasses. Why is it that guys are not more realistic? Just curious.

Here's a random thought...perhaps dudes seem to have an over inflated sense of how attractive they are because dudes generally don't have cosmetics advertisements and fashion magazines constantly telling us that because our bodies don't match the dimensions of supermodels, we aren't perfect?

i agree. and people DO have to deal with this reality, but.....
of course, the reality is.... there are SOME people that HAVE to lower their expectations or standards because they have set their bar too high, to a point where it's unrealistic, to a point where they don't have much to bring to the table. and these people just don't "get it," until perhaps, ten years from now. hehe.
