| | Forum specific phenomenon/mysteryPage 3 of 3 (1, 2, 3) | | thanks for filling us in about happypants Cynthia, glad she got her prince charming in the end despite :) At least there's one mystery solved! I guess poster-boy, I'll just accept that he is ubiquitous and scarce :) | |

| Forum specific phenomenon/mystery Posted: 6/11/2012 8:42:52 PM | You know.... someone can type the most deep and heartfelt stuff, yet still be a goofy guy if you were meet him. Even a Barny Fife can string a few well chosen words together.
This medium makes us all seem much cooler than we really are. Tis 90% hype generated from our own imagination. only 10% real and mundane.

You know.... someone can type the most deep and heartfelt stuff, yet still be a goofy guy if you were meet him. Who says deep and goofy are mutually exclusive? Some of the deepest guys I've known are also pretty darned goofy, and I kinda like that about them. Just sayin'

| Forum specific phenomenon/mystery Posted: 6/16/2012 9:07:38 PM | Are we supposed to guess who he is? Just opening the door for him, OP?
My experience has been that most forum guys consistently post ideas that conflict with mine. I’ve not given this much thought…hmm…my one true love could be right here on the forums posting my thoughts. I gotta keep my eyes open now. I’d be very very surprised, that’s for sure.

| Forum specific phenomenon/mystery Posted: 6/16/2012 10:06:03 PM | ^That wasn't my intent for posting (either of your ideas), but I wouldn't be offended if y'all guess. I mean, I could certainly see myself being curious if I had read something similar and I know we all love those 'happy endings' in threads too!
Anyways, taking my own inventory, I realize even 'going there' mentally was a bit idealistic, though certainly delightful at same time. I think if he wanted to open floodgates or jump fences, he'd find a way to express that to me. I don't expect that though at all!...and I respect the soundness of the 'gal/guy next door' mentality. I figure if things were meant to be they would line up in support of bridging the geography.
My apologies to any 'followers' if this plot has turned out to be rather anticlimactic for ya. I confess I get invested in other poster's success, so I know the feeling! I do have a relative in his location, but I know I couldn't do my usual work there either as there's no infrastructure for it-again, musing in impractical realms. Fun, but Reeeeeeally Only, sheesh, right??? Silly notions of mine.
He really does appear to be almost a clone of me though-that I was NOT imagining, and he's the only one I've noticed that about. Thanks all for your support! My defense, if taken to task on 'why would you go there', would rightfully get shot down by geographers :) Soo, might be time to giggle at myself for thinkin, and y'all are welcome to glean humor too if you'd like :) (I think he's probably smiling reading all of the above, and I also think he may know who he is, so if that's the end result, at least he knows he got noticed in a good way :)

| Forum specific phenomenon/mystery Posted: 6/16/2012 11:06:15 PM | ^^^^^^^^^^ Hey, anything can happen, you never know.
I think the idea is very romantic. There is no harm in dreaming. : )
|
| Forum specific phenomenon/mystery Posted: 6/16/2012 11:12:26 PM | | Aaw thanks Fleuron :). I try to balance being open to what awe-inspires me with the reality of it ever progressing...I pray for God to bring the right one to be my next teacher :) At this point I felt the need to be accountable to all those dreaming with me too though... | |

| Forum specific phenomenon/mystery Posted: 6/17/2012 5:31:53 PM | Well to me, it is pretty pointless to get wrapped up on someone who lives a million miles away. Two reasons:
1) It is an unhealthy substitute for meeting someone local. Instead of dealing with whatever it is that keeps us single, we distract ourselves with this imaginary distant mirage we can't date.
2) One or the other will inevitably find someone. so the other person in the pretend relationship will be hurt and feel left out.
Why even go there? | |
|
| Forum specific phenomenon/mystery Posted: 6/17/2012 5:47:08 PM | ^^^^^^^^^^ Party pooper.
Two reasons:
1) A 'million miles away' is probably in outer space, in which case he wouldn't even be on PoF.
2) They may fall madly in love and one or the other can move so they can be together.
What's so impossible, really?
I can’t believe I’m the romantic one on here.

| Forum specific phenomenon/mystery Posted: 6/17/2012 5:47:43 PM | ^^thank you. I agree completely. Was just curious is all really, no fanciful unicorn-hoping. I am also accountable to myself for my inner work in manifesting...and tbh w/ y'all fellafishies I've put more energy into work than dating lately, so my 'results' are commensurate w/ where my focus has been...Guess I've become 'content' with life :)
^ he may be a party pooper, but no more than I am. Practical is also sane.Sane is healthy! Anyways, it's nice your still dreaming (I'm fine with your way of being too!). Hope springs eternal. I actually DID fall for someone a million miles away once, which is why I don't ACTUALLY actively seek it out again . So much work to 'reunite' and he preferred his own turf in the end...(long story, and miraculous I was able to even pull it off back then!)

| Forum specific phenomenon/mystery Posted: 6/17/2012 6:39:05 PM | | ^btw, that one, we met on a mountaintop, in a blizzard, so, just to validate your dreamy self, Fleuron, yes, sometimes love does take ya by surprise in the way it arrives! | |

| Forum specific phenomenon/mystery Posted: 6/19/2012 2:50:24 PM | | BREAKING NEWS: poster-boy has not only left the building, he left the village. As I said before, I strongly suspected he knew I was taking note. Don't know what to think, (except that its no longer worth 'wondering' over), but he is now gone for any of you curious onlookers to this situ. | |
