Unfortunately, you're right in much of what you say. Our 'Chief Executive' [sic] seems to love nothing more than ignoring our Constitutional system of government, preferring as he does to 'get things done' by Executive Order (I prefer 'fiat') rather than having legislation passed authorizing his whims into law. Too messy. Too boring. Too ... plebian. Remember that, in his own mind, he is already a legend, even tho' he's nothing more than a rumor in his own time. With passage of NDAA, I have no faith he will not use it to further circumvent our Constitution and Congress to enforce his vision of a Zimbabwe-ized America. Should Romney be the victor come 07 November 2012, he should announce his first task upon assuming office will be nullification of every one of Obama's decisions and EOs because, as an ineligible holder of the office of president, none of his signed orders carry weight of law or have backing granted by legitimate Constitutional authority.
If you want to read something as bad as (or worse than) NDAA, research PDD51 or HPD51, signed by Bush before leaving office. NDAA is an expansion and continuation of it, and the premise upon which it's based is CoG (Continuity of Government). At the beginning of the Great Depression, there were several " runs " on banks which were about to fold.
Everyone would show up all at the same time and demand their money back. Naturally, the bank wouldn't have it to give back. That's why the FDIC was instituted.
The FDIC insurance, paid for by the banks themselves, guarantees everyone's deposits up to $100,000. Even if a bank goes under, FDIC guarantees everyone will get paid .
It's very unlikely that a such a thing would even be necessary today. The FDIC enforcement division will step in and take over a bank long before it has a chance to fold. In fact, there has been several FDIC takeovers of banks around the country since the start of our Great Recession in 2007 and no depositor has lost a penny. | |

Posted: 6/19/2012 5:25:15 AM | there will be no guarantees when everything falls apart. our banks get their money from the overseas banks. if the over seas banks are broke, our banks are broke. with JP Morgan having $120+ trillion in derivative debt, if they go down their debt becomes the USA debt. in other words - you're screwed.
the reason we're all in this mess is because none of us acted soon enough thinking the problem would fix itself. it was the wrong choice & soon we're going to pay for it. time to fix the problem by any means necessary.

with Goldman Sachs announcing QE3 possibly coming next week, it might just be them manipulating the markets again to make a buck. the announcement is going to come from Bernake only.
it's strange timing as i was reading earlier that when they do QE3 it's going to be some exorbitant amount like $15 trillion with $2 trill going to protect the Elite, wealthy & government who ushered in this madness. it will probably come in disguise as Obamacare, but instead of healthcare for the people, it will be a military force taking care of Obama & friends. the rest of the money will go to military toys & underground supplies. it won't matter if a nuke gets dropped here, there or everywhere. the drones can fly through radiation clouds & survive without a pilot on board.
this move could be in response to the threat made by the military against Obama. in April or May there was a report that they were planning a coup d'etat against Obama & the elite, to flush them out & capture them in order to cleanse the country of their tyranny. all that money is probably going to go to Russian forces stationed underground in Denver atm & China's troops whenever they decide to show up. remember the executive order allowing foreign help during martial law. when the people go nuts after being pushed to far, those responsible will need a paid militia to protect their azz.
after the militia moves in, the states are going to be broken up into either the 10 FEMA regions or once the USA is broke, they will announce the North American Union to help solve everything. Canada has the resources, USA the connections, Mexico the man power. i just see a big train wreck waiting to happen. new currency the Amero starts Jan 2013

This is actually good news in the market. 5 of the banks are considered favorably in the downgrade and actually saw an increase in share price. Not to mention there is somewhere around a gillion other banks in the world that were not downgraded.
Daiwa Capital Markets analyst Michael Symonds said the cuts could have been worse and the conclusion of the review removed an uncertainty from the market

yes, you should save some money so you can buy the immediate things you will need. money will probably still be used until it's replaced, but expect to see more bartering. that's spending money, i'm talking about protecting your wealth. many top world financial advisers are saying invest it into physical precious metals. whether you have $500,000 or $5,000 in your savings account, you will feel it when everything goes down. sad part is most people have no savings at all and/or way too far into debt for their own good. i don't feel sorry for them, but i do empathize with how they got into a position like that. so explain to me how these people are going to make it once inflation skyrockets & a severely devaluing dollar sends everybody hurling into the ground?

so if those in charge are lying about the actual amount of gold & silver out there, is it that hard to believe that the prices we're seeing right now are a lie too? so if gold is at say $1500 but 4/5th of the above ground supply doesn't exist, wouldn't that push an ounce of gold well over $100,000 since it's so rare? Nixon was a fraud & played his part in all of this. the lifespan of a leading fiat currency is usually 30-40 yrs - the US is on year 41. ever think that your greedy government didn't want to lose control of the #1 spot before so they did what they could to keep it no matter what the cost. now look at the state of the world economy that followed the USA's example. it's a mess & only going to get worse with no real end in site. even in the depression, the world leaders refused to admit they were in trouble until they were almost buried by it.

It is that complicated though. Here's one piece of bad news for you...when gold was the money base of the land the government intervened with policies that devalued it, banned it, even confiscated it in order to protect its monetary policy in much the same way it does today with currency. When gold goes to 100k an ounce do you really think you will be allowed to trade freely in something that the government has no control over? Naive at best.
More bad news. Ten years ago when it actually was a good time to buy gold my 100k in gold would be worth 250k right now. Fantastic. However, my 100k that was invested in dividend producing stock and gained 7% compounded annually is now worth 200k. Plus the companies have increased their share prices on average 49% so my initial investment is worth 150k. Sadly, you buy gold in Canadian dollars which were worth about 30% less ten years ago. So you lost that spread in your return. And I've shown income on my tax returns which has increased my borrowing potential and decrease my rates. I've shown a dividend structure on these investments that has lowered my taxable rates to below what the best capital gain rate I could get when I sell gold. And I've had the unlimited potential to spend at will without losing my initial principle.
More bad news. The Eurozone crisis is not the best news for gold bugs. The US dollar does better when the Euro is low which means you can buy more gold now than you could a few months ago. SO I'm not sure why you're equating Europe with higher gold prices.
One more thing I don't get...when financial institutions collapse and people have no money just debt, how are they going to be able to buy enough gold to make the prices sky rocket? The premise is not how much money something will be worth but the amount of assets/commodities others will be willing to hand over in exchange for a certain amount of gold/silver......or any other acceptable unit of exchange.
If everyone loses faith in paper money they will, undoubtedly still want to trade with each other and gold/silver, which has had a monetary value right up until 1971, could, potentially be the one that people look to in order to carry out trades.
Ten years ago when it actually was a good time to buy gold my 100k in gold would be worth 250k right now.
On June 25th 2002 gold was $302.25/oz. Divide this by $100,000 and you could buy 330.85oz
At todays price, $1573 those 330.85oz would be worth $520,430
If you'd have compounded, gone to your local neighbourhood bank and said, "hey! I've made x amount of profit on my gold this year, can I borrow the same amount to buy more gold" After the first year, 2002-03 you'd have made $14,143 profit as the price was £345/oz in June 2003.
This would mean you could buy an additional 41oz
2003-04 the price was $396/oz, total profit for your now 371.85oz was $33,108 for which you could buy and an additional 83.61oz.
Do that each year and by now, June 2012 you'd own 5,893.05oz of gold worth $9,293,346.59 but owe your lender £6,893,729.58 + 5% compound interest charge @ $574,392.11 = total profit for your initial $100,000 investment would be $1,825,224.90
People can poo poo gold all they wish but this is the reality. Gold has been in a bull market for the last 12 years and there are very few signs that it will end with the amount of money printing/devaluing that's required to bail out the world. | |

it's not so much that the US dollar will be worthless all together as much as it will be increasingly worth less. this is why China is getting mad at the Fed as it wants to continually have the printing presses going to solve all their insolvent debt crisis. for every new dollar printed, the value of each dollar will decrease in purchasing power.
even if they're printing to replace old ruined bills, the destroyed bill remains on the books. this is why without Glass-Steaggal the banks can make money out of thin air & not back it with anything. instant magic money. once the rest of the world tires of this donkey show, they will dump the US dollar & treasury bills all together. the only place they'll be good for is within the states only until something replaces it. even with the correction later on, there's no guarantee you'll end up in the same spot financially as you are right now.
protect your wealth. buy physical gold & silver before it disappears completely. try to replace some of your stocks, bonds & paper gold & silver notes before you get burned.

how about the info coming out that the whole solar system seems to be experiencing climate & geological changes due to some unknown force? actually i believe it's a dark dwarf sun & it's planets causing it but you don't believe in that stuff. there's a media black out over here. Russia & China are well aware of it so why aren't we being told?
