| No Soul? Posted: 8/18/2005 7:12:31 PM | I am a priest firstly because I am registered through the Universal Life Church. Their website is www.ulc.org
Secondly I registered because I study religions. I won't say all religions because that is a bit like saying you have read all books. It just isn't practical and probably isn't even possible, however I have studied in some depth a wide variety of faiths.
If anything can qualify an agnostic to be a priest I think that would. Coincidently if you need a priest for a wedding all I need to do is register with the state I am in and we can do the ceremony in whatever fashion you see fit. Being agnostic has its advantages ;-). | |

| No Soul? One Scenario. Posted: 11/28/2005 12:27:05 AM | Yes. Thats so dead on. "pertaining to your post"
The ultimate "distinction" of the two, in my opinion/belief/scenario/view (be it temporary), comes at the point of physical death. To which, I am... not in any urgent need to explore at this time ha ha . Otherwise, it is a matter of degree's To me the question becomes one of When, Where, How, sometimes who, and predominantly why? To which I draw a blank. Trully. The body gives it's secrets, in time, but I find, post death experience, to be 100% specultion. The Bible, for example is but one of an infinate # of potential scenarios. What I believe we have hear is a determined however random existance within natural occuring limitations that may be responsible for this dilemna. and these very questions. Breath..
I could be wrong... theres that variation too.

| No Soul? Posted: 11/20/2008 2:40:26 PM | Does it matter whether we have a soul or not? Does it have to exist to enjoy expressing yourself in your own unique way? I do think that a soul is more than can be proven by scientists, it's something within us that makes us different from animals, you talk about being scared of not leaving an impression on the world when you die. I think that's why humans, not animals produce or appreciate art, express themselves like in forums like these just to share opinions, isn't wonderful we can do that just because we want?
Even if we cease to exist when we die, it doesn't matter, because we can never be sure what awaits us beyond death, we should make the most out of what we know we have, our time alive. In this time we should live our life fully being curious about the world and never stop asking questions. I've studied philosophy for a while now and I have come to the conclusion that even when the soul as such should not exist, life would not become meaningless as a result of it. In my opinion the meaning of human life is that we can ask questions about it, but should also embrace it. Trying to rationalize life but not living it, is what makes it meaningless.
