| Ever think someone is out of your league and not messaged them? Posted: 6/27/2012 9:13:47 PM | ^^^ Agreed...
OP...just go for it....I am not going to repeat what has already been said but I believe the bottom line is...it is the internet...”faceless”.....if they don’t reply, move on...and if you message someone that has lots in common with you and they don’t reply, THEIR loss...relationships purely based on “looks” rarely last very long....
PS: Your profile is fab!!

| Ever think someone is out of your league and not messaged them? Posted: 6/27/2012 10:56:12 PM | I wouldnt worry too much about it. Ive gone out with around 6 men during my time off and on Pof (I know I registered in June 2011, but have really only been actively dating since March)
3 of those men I would have considered out of my league, both in their pictures and the flesh. The others, average, balding middle aged men. However, I had fun (not 'fun') with all of them and was open to seeing them again.
Guess which ones I did see again and the ones that friend zoned me after the first meet? Yup, all 3 'lookers' I saw again. One quite regularly over a period of around 5 weeks. Have a theory that the 'average' men are suddenly faced with a smorgasbord of women and are looking for some sort of perfection to boost their egos.
Im sure the same happens with some women too, me? If someone is fairly attractive and we go out and have a good time then why not go out again eh?
Un fortunately all 3 lookers were workaholics with limited time and eventually they fizzled, but I wasnt put in the 'friend zone' instantly by them. May see one or 2 of them again shortly.

| Ever think someone is out of your league and not messaged them? Posted: 6/27/2012 11:47:21 PM | I usually have a little laugh to myself when ever someone tells me that old saying.. "there`s someone out there for every one"..
If mine`s out there, then i reckon she`s ex SAS, cos she`s bloody good at escape and evasion !! hahahahaha :O)

| Ever think someone is out of your league and not messaged them? Posted: 6/27/2012 11:55:08 PM | As the old saying goes: "Whether you think you can or think you can't, you are right."
This is nothing to do with the other persons attitudes or standards, they might actually like you if you gave them the chance but because you think you're out of someone league then you are.
If you think you can't win the lottery so don't ever buy a ticket then you'll never win the lottery.
So hey! Buy a ticket from time to time. You never know, you could get lucky

Yeah what a pile of cack! Usually said by a smugly loved up friend who wants to change the subject from your crap love life to her phenomenal one....

^^^^ i`ve been buying a ticket "from time to time" for years !
guess what ! hahahaha :O)
Ok, if that doesn't work then you're gonna need to change strategy.
Get a plan to get rich so that you don't even need to win the lottery
Gonna have to explain this now, aint I.
Predominantly people don't choose a long term partner just on looks alone and if you came across someone who did, simply chose you because you looked good, it wouldn't be a LTR.
So, if you want a kind, generous, thoughtful fittie then you're gonna have to work out what it is you're gonna have to do/change to attract one..... Get a plan.

| Ever think someone is out of your league and not messaged them? Posted: 6/28/2012 8:18:10 AM | Hi Lucie - I looked at your profile and I think you look lovely and, also, a very well written profile. Plus, you say you're going to the gym to "get fitter" - good on you. Glad you didn't say to get slimmer.
One of my friends is quite overweight and she had two of the most gorgeous boyfriends I'd ever seen!! And one of the best looking blokes I have ever gone out with - honestly, girls were always looking. Well, he was the most boring, vain, self-centred person I'd ever met. He got dumped pretty quickly and couldn't understand why :-)
Another one - he pursued me (I'm just Miss Plain Average). Told me he was a fireman, not that it matters. But turned out he was a stripper!!!! My mate met him after I'd only known him two weeks and she said "I'm sure I've seen you somewhere" - turned out she had seen him in action stripping. He got dumped too - shame, he was a nice bloke, but I just don't like liars.
Anyhow, message whoever you want to and don't worry if you don't get a reply or, if you get a nasty reply, then breathe a sigh of relief because if anyone can send a nasty reply about weight or looks, you've had a lucky escape.
Good luck xxx | |

| Ever think someone is out of your league and not messaged them? Posted: 6/28/2012 11:44:39 AM | | You never know who will like you, don't ever go by looks, I can walk the streets and look at couples and wonder wow "these people are different colors, shapes, sometimes saw an actual dwarf date someone way taller," so to that conclusion I never lower myself or think I'm out someone league, I highly doubt that really short person though they'd never be able to date a normal size person, cause we all human and we're gonna die the same way. So just think to yourself, well if that person doesn't like me oh well whatever, its better to just have that mindset :) | |

| Ever think someone is out of your league and not messaged them? Posted: 6/28/2012 1:51:27 PM | I can't believe this post, it seems you are moaning because you feel, you won't get a reply from a hot guy, because you think he probably won't be into big woman! Solution is simple lose some weight! It’s unhealthy to be overweight anyway, if that's your problem just lose weight. It's funny because I bet, when an overweight guy messages you overweight woman, I bet you never reply, and if he messages again you prob block him! Double standards me thinks, and you moan if when you do pluck enough courage to message I guy you think is hot, and he ignores you! But you all do exactly the same to a guy you don't find attractive. Jesus give me strength... It simple, Internet dating is shallow deal with it. Attractive people get messages and replies, doesn't mean to say they are better than anyone else, it's just a fact, people just go by pics and pics alone! | |

| Ever think someone is out of your league and not messaged them? Posted: 6/28/2012 2:20:08 PM | Pls don't think me rude but I'd be far more likely to be attracted to a chubby bloke who seems genuine and modest than someone who would post this "Thanks for all the messages; I appreciate you taking your time to message me. I will try and reply to everyone,Please forgive me if I take a bit of time to respond, it is not in any way being rude." LOL...how jolly gallant of you.
Also.. it's not always that easy to lose weight (for men or women and for various reasons which you clearly don't get). If it was that easy noone would be fat would they?

| Ever think someone is out of your league and not messaged them? Posted: 6/28/2012 3:25:58 PM | I never said it was easy, all I ma saying instead of moaning at least try and lose weight. And as for rather messaging chubby blokes (Your words not mine0 Ye right I bet you message loads of so called chubby blokes NOT. It just makes me laugh, Men get so much rejection on interent dating sites, they get ignored, blocked, even insulted in some cases, but when a woman gets a not interested reply, or no reply, it's a how dare they who do they think they are! etc. Don't you just love interent dating! | |

| Ever think someone is out of your league and not messaged them? Posted: 6/28/2012 4:14:34 PM | I've not read this through word for word but generally I think all men have a 'man mirror'. They message me and I think 'OH GOD REALLY!' . I doubt if we met in a bar or similar they would have the courage. Online dudes think they can pick when they cant and ok.. some online birds do to. In real life though, men seem to bat above and women think they cant. I aint like that. I'll go for what I fancy and that may in some circumstances be considered outta league but hey I dont care. I dont care if outta league bloke cares either. Can I tell you now.. Confidence seems to go down well with most men folk. Some however think I am a coak sure beatch. Whatever... Still dont care lol I've not always been like this - it is a treasure given to me with old age - I love it! Did i say i dont care if others dont?... think i did.. | |

Exactly this! I've read quite a few profiles were nearly all the text is all about their size, how "theres no such thing as size 0" or "real men like meat on the bones" that kind of thing. It's just so off putting! It's not the size at all, there's plenty of confident and stylish larger women here who look fantastic. I just don't want someone insecure about their looks, we all have our moments of course, but smile and get on with it, don't believe the hype that every man wants a stick thin blonde with massive jugs!

| Ever think someone is out of your league and not messaged them? Posted: 6/29/2012 1:28:29 AM | | I don't message any guys at all tombga which is what I said earlier in the thread however I have been out with lots of chubby guys; I prefer a man with a bit of meat on him. You're doing a lot of generalising. Not everyone wants gorgeous; I certainly don't. A nice smiley face or certain twinkle in the eye combined with a brain, great sense of humour and a kind personality are what attracts me. | |

| Ever think someone is out of your league and not messaged them? Posted: 6/29/2012 2:03:17 AM | I agree that confidence is an attractive quality - confidence ( not arrogance) is one of the first things that attracts me to someone - and I regret all the wasted years in my early 20's where I thought I had to look a certain way to be attractive! Confidence comes with age - which is a shame as most of us look our best when we're younger. Im on the wrong side of 30 now and feel comfortable in my own skin. x | |

| CAN I ASK FOR AN ADVICE? Posted: 6/29/2012 2:59:10 AM | I really can't be bother to open a new thread and I was wondering something.
Do people get really attracted by picture? Of course, if I see a guy and think 'he is hot!' but half of the time when he start talking I wish I was in Tesco shopping for nappies for my little nephew. I am more attracted by intelligence then ripped abs. Personally if you look like Brad Pitt but your voice have a really high pitch it is a massive turn off and so on.
I realised that some woman on here have pictures taken by professional photographer and they don't look nothing like their pics and guys complain about it, then if you have more 'normal pics' most people says 'you are not my type' or 'I don't find you attractive', same people that if you post a pic of a night out send you tons of messages and those you are guys that are looking for a relationship? Do you want a relationship with a real human being or you want a girl that look good under your arm? Are my generation that shallow or I expect too much from men?
