I am into watching sports...but I am not a follower. I watch it occasionally. I rather play than watch.

If my girl was into watching/playing more than men then good for her...either way...it does not matter, as long as she takes care of her health :P

I dislike sports and rarely watch the few things I do like. I occasionally watch combat sports such as UFC and stuff I don't really care who wins I just like martial arts. I train in martial arts but not for sport we don't compete and there aren't many ways here to do so. We are against turning our system into a sport however a few have gone into MMA for fun. I do like Paintball however I have not played in years I know few women who play. Sitting down to watch bores me I tried several sports as a kid and disliked most of it I bowled for many years on a kids league. I took up archery for a time but because I never had a place at home to shoot I never got to into it I like shooting though doesn't matter what. I like target shooting with anything.

Sports are like any other interest. It's happy and healthy to have passion, but too much of it is a bad thing.

Sub it with something like going to the gym. If I go an hour a day and try to keep myself trim and fit but do other stuff, great. If I'm at the gym 6 hours a day and don't do anything else, that's too much. Every interest is abou the same in that respect.

Can I ask why? That seems like a really strange (and random) absolute relationship dealbreaker to me.

Count me in. I can't stand most all sports save for golf. I love to play golf but totally suck at it but I have the utmost respect for the pros. Controlling the flight of that little white ball is much harder than you think. Plus, the pay in golf is directly related to how well you play on any given week. Miss the cut and you don't draw a check. Play like garbage in football, baseball, basketball...that fat check is still there. What used to blow my mind were the guys I worked with that couldn't read a tape measure or do simple arithmetic but could quote stats from every stupid bowl or nba championship or world series. Where are your priorities?

"sports" is too generic of a word so I'll break it down this way.

In my opinion, any man who is not or never has been interested in participating in any kind of athletic competition screams beta male. And I do believe that most women are not attracted to beta males.

Just watching sports is a whole different topic, in which I agree with most women. Get off your rear and do something athletic of your own.

I could tell you what social groups the 23 million Americans exempt from the healthcare individual mandate fall into, but not who won the last superbowl.

I don't find my priorities to be misplaced at all, but I guess that's up to interpretation. I guess I should put down the daily journal and pick up the remote.

I have a difficult time watching sports on TV and would much rather be at the game "LIVE" and in living color. Other than that, sports don't hold my attention very long. I would much rather catch the highlights on SportsCenter than sit for hours to watch a game or event.

I get bored watching sports on TV. The only exception is the Olympics.

Before we got married my ex-husband gave me a football quiz: "What's a fumble?" he asked. I thought about it. "A boo-boo," I replied. "You PASS," he said. We laughed.

I'm looking for a fit, athletic man, NOT a slob who lazes in his recliner watching sports on TV, eating unhealthy food and burping beer. Yuck.

Kind of surprised at some of the responses, doesn't seem to be a lot of sports fans here...
Me I grew up watching the Lakers for instance, and went to the games when I was a kid,it's just something that gets ingrained in you and I became a fan for life.
I also play a lot of golf, and watching something like the Masters is where you get to watch and appreciate someone performing at the highest level in their particular profession....it's basically just another form of reality entertainment, that's all it is.

Oh, I'm sure there are plenty of sports fans around. Most of us just don't see much point in participating in this little beyotch-a-thon. I enjoy watching sports as much as the next guy, and I know plenty of women that do as well. I think it's no different than other forms of entertainment, if you get obsessive it stops being entertainment and becomes unhealthy.

Personally, I'd rather go out and play a sport than watch one on TV. But I see no harm in watching when I'm not doing something else.

Some of the stereotypes are amusing, like the out of shape beer swilling one...

..Really? Never heard of endorsements, sponsorships or appearance fees? Tiger Woods was handed close to 100 million before he teed up his first ball as a pro. Granted his accomplishments as an amateur paved the way but it was not directly related to how he did each given week.

Back to the topic....agree with Paderic. Not every sports fan is a beer chugging obese slob not moving from his couch on Sundays. I find it funny that some of the people ripping sports fans are the same ones that watch American Idol or Dances with the Stars...the difference is?

Does zip for me...appreciate doing what exactly what?. Might as well be who can balance the most eggs on their nose.

It's a positive if kids are into watching soccer, swimming, cycling, dance, basketball, track and field... and then participate in these fitness oriented activities.. Beats me, however, why an adult would moon over multi million dollar professionals.

I've no favorite team, sport or athletic "hero"

I love playing sports, or even going to watch is fun. But to shut out the world because my "team" or "the game" is on....

ya no...not so much.

I just think sports watching is a hobby, like any other hobby. There is a stereotype that most sports watchers are meatheads but that's obviously just a sterreotype. Personally, I'd much prefer watching sitcoms or dramas rather than sports, so finding a guy who has similar tv taste would be awesome.

Another stupid stereotype. It's actually possible to be fit and athletic and watch sports on TV. Sometimes a person can do both at the same time. They can do some cardio exercises at the gym while watching a game. I'm sure there are just as many non-sports fans who eat unhealthy food while watching movies, reality TV shows, reruns of old sitcoms, soap operas, politics / news shows etc.
