| Why does Society look down there nose and people who remain single Posted: 7/3/2012 6:48:47 PM |
Divorce scared the marriage outta me, that's why I'm single.
People should start doing the opposite to see if that works: When you meet someone, get a divorce first, and then get married afterwards. If people get the divorce out of the way first, maybe people will stay married longer.

| Why does Society look down there nose and people who remain single Posted: 7/3/2012 6:59:40 PM | Yes some definitely do. I've noticed many times that even in these forums, the ones who have found someone have an air of arrogance to their advice.. as though it somehow holds a sacrosanct weight now that they have found someone. And then they're single again in a month or two, lol..
Who cares if they look down on you? Do what works for you and your life. That doesn't have to fit anyone else's standards of what should or should not happen at a certain age/stage of life.
But then maybe thinking that way is easy for me, since I have never really done things in the prescribed ways. I've given up caring that I just don't fit in.

so when is it going to be my turn
It's the age old question from family and relatives and usually asked at the traditional wedding. You could always reply with something humorous.................like, when it's finally my turn, you will be the first to know.
It's social and religious conditioning............some believe that you can't be completely happy and lead a fulfilling life unless we are all married and have 2.3 children. Others think that if your single, your a selfish person and for some already married people............Misery Enjoys Company!

Whose this person Society I keep hearing about? He sounds like a jerk. Tell him to piss off and mind his own business.
Snot-nosed arrogant a-hole, lady; even though you always blow him off, Society is an insistant blowhard; he just wants to meddle in the lives of everyone, especially if its none of his business....
