| | Wanting Christian Grey.....Page 4 of 8 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) | Deciding NOT to read something because "everyone else reads it and i am not a sheep" seems like a silly statement to make. I read the hype around the book and wondered whether all these women who were so enthralled by the books, had a real clue as to what BDSM and Sub/Dom relationships truly entail. Slapping a chick's backside because you can't figure out a better way to feel connected to her is NOT BDSM. It's bordering on abuse. And wanting a Mr Grey to nurture and "heal" reeks of women who write to incarcerated murderers because they are convinced they can "heal" them.
By all means take control in the bedroom, but hurt me and i will castrate you with my teeth.

| Wanting Christian Grey..... Posted: 7/27/2012 11:52:43 AM | I don't see what women find so fascinating about 50 Shades Of Grey! ;-)

| Wanting Christian Grey..... Posted: 7/27/2012 12:03:50 PM | If I see the tagline "looking/wanting Mr.Grey etc I tend to move to the next profile. Nothing more unattractive than a woman who wants a man who's a.) Imaginary b.) Abusive Makes me die inside a little | |
|
| Wanting Christian Grey..... Posted: 7/27/2012 12:09:45 PM | My tag line used to be "Mr Grey is not someone to aspire to" but that attracted the wrong crowd. Guys wanting to "show me a thing or two"
*shudder* | |
|
| Wanting Christian Grey..... Posted: 7/27/2012 12:17:39 PM | Wow that's pretty gruesome! It obviously doesn't take much to convince some people to "show off" so to speak.
Just found another "Mr. Grey" profile. Quite tempted to message these women and say something along the lines of; "So, you'd like to be abused, treated like s**t and given no respect whatsoever?" I bet I'd get booted off this site in a heartbeat if I did though. Funny old world.
|
| Wanting Christian Grey..... Posted: 7/29/2012 2:26:48 AM | | My real name is Darcy. Women used to say they were looking for their Mr Darcy and I could say "Here I am!" Now this Mr Grey interloper has made me redundant. Not impressed! | |
|
| Wanting Christian Grey..... Posted: 7/29/2012 4:21:21 AM | | I'd use that to your advantage mate. Not sure how, but maybe write some silken prose about the day Mr. Darcy met Mr. Grey and killed the abusive b*stard? Mind you, I don't think it matters how original the messages we send are, most still get ignored and avoided like a wet fart. Still at least the forums are a safe haven. The day these become exclusive to paying members is the day I disappear and venture out into the real world haha. | |

| Wanting Christian Grey..... Posted: 7/30/2012 5:30:07 AM | | I dont understand why they call it mummy porn...........From what my male friends tell me (the ones with kids) as soon as most women become mums they become dead from the waist down unless they want another......................ooooh controversial!! | |
|
| Wanting Christian Grey..... Posted: 7/30/2012 5:31:28 AM | | 'Looking for my Mr Darcy" Seems to be a popular headline for the middle class professionals on here. I have no idea who Mr Darcy is, so I google searched him, what a pillow biter! | |
|
| Wanting Christian Grey..... Posted: 7/30/2012 6:24:53 AM | | i'm glad i found this thread!! If its not Peter Andre or Cristian Bale or that other geezer from twilight?? It certainly doesnt help the self esteem!! but then again, who ever actually looks like these guys im sure will be cursing...they have to live up to the hype....fiction is that for a reason!! | |
|
| Wanting Christian Grey..... Posted: 7/30/2012 6:29:46 AM | Tigertaz - So true m8, and many of the women looking for Christian Bale lookalikes would really have next to no chance of attracting one lol
Who would want to look like Peter Andre anyway? He looks like a male version of a wag!! And as for his physique, I had bigger muscles at 16 lol
|
| Wanting Christian Grey..... Posted: 7/30/2012 7:04:08 AM | Ahaha. The only preference i have at a physical level is that they are not shorter than i am. Call me shallow, but with my size i really do not want to walk next to a guy who makes me look like i swallowed his younger brother. :-\
Other than that...hygiene and manners and an engaging smile is always helpful.
Having a physical preference is fine. It has been said before, the first bite is with the eyes, and as an "ugly fattie" myself I am no different in that regard.
Treating people like crap or sub-humans because they don't fit your description of attractive on the other hand is ridiculous and makes you look like an ugly tw*t on the inside. And it's the inside ugly that is a hell of a lot harder to conceal or 'fix' than the outside ugly.
|
| Wanting Christian Grey..... Posted: 7/30/2012 3:10:25 PM | | But what you have to understand is that SOME women want to be treated that way, THEY pay good money for it, this does happen but it is for sure NOT for me or most women (even if they think he is great in what they think is a fantasy novel) There also are Women Dominants who treat men the same way. It is a reality of a different lifestyle. | |
|
| Wanting Christian Grey..... Posted: 8/1/2012 9:47:28 AM | That would be my summary of the book :)
I've come across many MANY pages with the headline "I want my Mr Grey" or something similar and of some of the women I've spoken to the most attractive qualities he has is Money, a sense of power and the desire to take care of his lady (albeit in a possesive or monetary way)
I also read all three books and the only thing I found interesting was the background as to why he was that way... to which I don't think the author really even covered it lol...
|
| Wanting Christian Grey..... Posted: 8/1/2012 9:56:54 AM | | What I do worry about though is what if the right woman/man for you is also someone who just happens to read them books (or the guys equivalent of)? Yet her/his profile gets skipped. I wonder if anything like that has ever happened. Probably many times | |
|
| Wanting Christian Grey..... Posted: 8/1/2012 10:28:42 AM | This trilogy of books is all but fan fiction, it is written by a fan of something else and tries to introduce the world of BDSM with Dom and a Sub.
The reason he makes her sign a contract is in fact something a lot of people do in the BDSM world where they want a Master and to be the slave. This book plays homage to that but oh so badly and without much research into it.
If you like a book that portrays BDSM into something it isn't along with an actual abusive relationship (that has nothing to do with BDSM) then more fool you.
I have and never will read these books in full, I have read bits and discussed them in great length with my friends who have read them, as we are all in the fetish scene in one way or another, we are disgusted that this book has got so much hype and people haven't got a clue with it so want to find their own 'Mr Grey'.
You are all far better off not reading it.
|
| Wanting Christian Grey..... Posted: 8/1/2012 11:20:49 AM | Thank you Wildrid3r. I am not in the Fetish Scene, but I have some American friends who are. Mainly Gor. It's not so much the books they are annoyed with, but the romanticized idea people get from it that a man can be "fixed" if you let him tie you up and hurt you. True BDSM is not from Anger or emotional Pain. It is not a temporary kinky episode in your sexlife, only to be 'endured' till the guy beats it out of his system. They forget that, in Gorean terms at least, there is no safe word to end the spanking or whipping or caning. It ends when the Master feels the discipline or punishment is enough. | |

| Wanting Christian Grey..... Posted: 8/2/2012 12:31:16 AM | who gives a shyte whether it is a true representation of bdsm or some other strange fetish... its a book ffs that has entertained millions... for some people, its the first book they have ever read and imo that is something to celebrate.. research...? you only get so much from spending a fiver at tesco y'know.. ffs who would want to read about the reality of bdsm... other than those actually are into bdsm, in which case go and do your own research, its your kink so you do the work and let the rest of society have a giggle and smirk about something that provides momentary distraction and value for money entertainment...
why is there such anticipation of brilliance from something that was plainly not geared to become a classic but is merely intended to provide a bit of titillation to people who want to be titillated... ? you wouldnt get hours of entertainment down the pub for a fiver...
You are all far better off not reading it.
get lost. i am quite capable of deciding my own reading material thanks... i haven't read the books nor am i likely to, and because of this i dont feel able to offer an opinion on the content... perhaps those advising others should actually read the book first...

| Wanting Christian Grey..... Posted: 8/2/2012 1:38:52 PM | The research I am talking about is the AUTHORS research, if you going to write about this sort of thing, you at least gets the facts even HALF right.
Yes it a book, yes it a first for many, but they are being drawn into to something that's seriously badly written, as I have read enough of it to get a firm grasp on her writing style.
If you don't read then how the hell can you give an opinion at all?
The reason I dislike this so much is for fact everyone jumping on its bandwagon, including major retailers and giving the 'Sheep' all the more reason to want to have their own Mr Grey.
It has been around a while and yet has only just taken off, as have known about this book far longer than before the media made it huge
|
| Wanting Christian Grey..... Posted: 8/3/2012 4:25:10 AM | It's a poor trend, it's like Harry Potter for the sexually frustrated, it's so poorly written, but hey it's in vogue so I mentioned the phenomena in my latest profile update (not that many read it anyway.
I'm bringing an extra belt and handcuffs out on first dates from now on, somehow I doubt many would enjoy the reality to the fantasy. The hype does give me a bit more faith in women actually being sexual creatures with needs too, as tragic as the storytelling is.
My aunt's Jackie Collins books always opened at the same few pages...

| Wanting Christian Grey..... Posted: 8/3/2012 7:57:53 AM | If you want an insight into a womans physche, try talking to them. Or if your only interested in what turns them on, read, My Secret Garden by Nancy Friday. You'll get closer to the truth about what women want sexually then 50 Shades of Grey. All the author has done is to take Christain Grey (Heatcliff) from Wuthering Heights, the ice cube scene from 91/2 Weeks, the Contract from Pretty Woman and the BDSM from The Secertary. | |

| Wanting Christian Grey..... Posted: 8/3/2012 1:38:13 PM | | It's so annoying I felt the need to buy this pile of drivel just to see what everyone is obsessed about. I'd rather have some****and ball torture inflicted on me for a couple of minutes than read s*** like this. | |
