The right to life – protects your life, by law. The state is required to investigate suspicious deaths and deaths in custody. What about the right to die, some are kept alive by the state and the state refuses their wishes to die, despite reporting immense suffering
The prohibition of torture and inhuman treatment – you should never be tortured or treated in an inhuman or degrading way, no matter what the situation.
'Degrading way' this part outlaws usefull interrogation methods, it should be scrapped.
Protection against slavery and forced labour – you should not be treated like a slave or subjected to forced labour.
I agree
The right to liberty and freedom – you have the right to be free and the state can only imprison you with very good reason – for example, if you are convicted of a crime.
No, dangerous individuals who have commited crimes in other countries and then flee'd here should be imprisoned.
The right to a fair trial and no punishment without law - you are innocent until proven guilty. If accused of a crime, you have the right to hear the evidence against you, in a court of law.
As per right to liberty
Respect for privacy and family life and the right to marry – protects against unnecessary surveillance or intrusion into your life. You have the right to marry and raise a family.
This rule is routinely abused by immigrants and immigration companies who exploit this loophole to bring over whole families of non productive individuals.
Freedom of thought, religion and belief – you can believe what you like and practise your religion or beliefs.
I disagree, I believe people should follow the mainstream culture.
Free speech and peaceful protest – you have a right to speak freely and join with others peacefully, to express your views.
I believe people should loose this right when their protest affects or goes against core British values.
No discrimination – everyone’s rights are equal. You should not be treated unfairly – because, for example, of your gender, race, sexuality, religion or age.
Anti discrimination should be voluntary, not compulsory. It's all to often abused by incompetent / inadecute job applicants.
Protection of property, the right to an education and the right to free elections – protects against state interference with your possessions; means that no child can be denied an education and that elections must be free and fair
I agree. | |

Msg23 - Would you like to expand on the benefits available to owners of loss-making businesses? I just might have missed a trick or two here....................
You are entitled to housing benefit at the full lha rate aswell as the full rate of working tax credits and child tax credits (if applicable).

There is loads of cases where police brutality has led to a false confession (Guilford 4, bridgewater 4, birmingham 6 etc.) We all should be against torture.

The prohibition of torture and inhuman treatment – you should never be tortured or treated in an inhuman or degrading way, no matter what the situation.
how many would feel that if they had a relative who could of been saved etc
The right to liberty and freedom – you have the right to be free and the state can only imprison you with very good reason – for example, if you are convicted of a crime.
i know quite a few who have been locked up with out charge for a few days, never mind bailed/remand for months on end.
The right to a fair trial and no punishment without law - you are innocent until proven guilty. If accused of a crime, you have the right to hear the evidence against you, in a court of law.
take it you have never been before a crown court? put it this way its guilty until proved of innocence same as when you have a row with tax man, social or local council.

can you not see how it cant work .... what would happen if i set up a religion which stated my house was lined of pork and a klaxon had to be played every hour? after all its my human right to do this isnt it?
No discrimination – everyone’s rights are equal. You should not be treated unfairly – because, for example, of your gender, race, sexuality, religion or age.
then why is there ethnic support groups allowed to spring up with tax payers funds if we are all equal with the human rights?

Trevor Phillips is in the new boys club, it's an old boys network for ethnic minorities but of course under his rules it's called diversity.

Experts from both the military and the intelligence services agree doesn't work!

| Human rights brigade in trouble lol Posted: 8/1/2012 10:50:10 AM | OP., You should write to the Daily Wail, and tell them that they missed the "lol" (sic) From their article. This is certainly a "lol" thread, and I shall enter into the spirit of it too.

It doesn't really surprise me that the Mail and it's proprietors are against human rights, the ancestor of the current owner, was (Like many of the 'aristocracy' of the day) in favour of Mr Hitler's methods and objectives. [/Godwin] The very chap who's demented ideologies spawned the reason for "Human Rights" to be declared, in the first place. They say "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree", don't they.
Ironically anyone who subscribes to the Daily Wail ideologies, or 'buys into' their 'knee-jerk'/'circle-jerk' reactionary stupidity, would tend to have the very same levels of intelligence that the "eugenics" programs of their idol were conceived (NPI) to prevent from breeding.
Perhaps that's their "master-plan"...? -To identify the hard-of-thinking, and whip the Nadgers off them, before you can say 'circumcision'.
For those who do think abandoning HR Laws is a good idea, because a handful of nasty people abuse them, here are some other useful suggestions for you to consider: 1. Scrap the police force, there have been far too many corrupt police officers. 2. Scrap the law courts, -corrupt judges. 3. Scrap the NHS, because a few people have been taking the piss. 4. Scrap the welfare system, because a few people take the piss. 5. And finally, and most importantly, Whenever throwing out the bathwater, always make damn sure the baby is still in there.
The Daily Wail is a joke. I would sooner use stinging nettles, than wipe my arse on it. HTH

| Human rights brigade in trouble lol Posted: 8/1/2012 11:33:52 AM | | These thick people must surely realise that it would be reverse racism if these black people were kept employed just because of their race. Affirmative action has been the worst policy that has ever been created in the west. I know we only did it to say sorry for the awful slave trade over 200 years ago, but no one is alive today that suffered from it, so lets move on and really make things equal. | |

| Human rights brigade in trouble lol Posted: 8/2/2012 3:37:01 AM | rub the word racism on to a subject which it has no place in.
Exactly.. Why must they do this. Anyone can be made redundant. I could have pulled the race card when i was made redundant and department sent to India. Took my rights as a human along with 50 other people.. But because im not a drama laden, trouble causing moron, I accepted it and moved on. Sounds like they need to aswell or we should all do them for racism as that comment about how only black people will be sacked, if reversed would land us in court. Angers me that does. there really is no need to play the race card unless its true racism.
