Carolinawolfie, look foward to meeting you. I have suggested many times for maybe a group of people from around the Charlotte area car pool and come to Raleigh and join us at the LongbranchSaloon or one of our restaurant get togethers, it's worth it. We really have a great time and its so awesome meeting more pof people and everyone I've meet so far has been so nice, just down right good people to share alot of laughter with. So y'all come on. If there is anything I can do to help, just let me know.

Having a Charlotte get together would be great. I'm in Gastonia so coming to Charlotte would be good.

I've been talking to sassybroad over email and so we should just go ahead and do this. I had suggested Hams over near UNCC as a first meeting place. Decent food, a bar for those that drink, and a few pool tables too. Its a sports bar type place but I like it. Sassy was looking more for live music... any suggestions will be great and we'll get joined up.

I wish I new more about the Charlotte and surrounding area so I could help y'all out but I don't know of a thing about that area.........look in the yellow pages under entertainment and see what they have listed, might give y'all some ideas. If you can come up with a place, I'd be glad to host it but not sure if I'd be able to make it so would have to have a co-host that would be willing to be in charge of the get together. That's the best I can do!

I can tell you about it because I live in that area.....

I personally don't like Hams because it is too close to UNCC, hence most of the crowd is under 25.... Pretty much the same reason I am buying a house somewhere else!

Hams appears easy for out of towners because it's close to 85. Quaker Steak and Lube is off 85 also, a left off the Concord Mills exit. So is Iron Thunder.

Just a few alternatives. IMHO

Hey Ed... I never noticed Hams drawing in college kids but I don't go there real often. I go to Iron Thunder often to shoot pool but figured the decor might not be liked by some of the ladies...

Quaker Steak might work for a dinner... What does everybody think?

I know the MySpace people in Charlotte reservedthe top floor of the Breakfast Club - it's free if you have a certain number - I think 40 is the minimum number...

Other than that, I don't have any better suggestions than what have already been made here. I'm not familiar with North of the City - there are some nice places on Lake Norman, though.

Went to a great place last night... Jokers. It's in the same parking lot as the Catawba Queen (on 150 off of 77). Hilarious! It has double pianos and the guys will make you laugh unless you don't like blue humor. Not for the squeemish. But it is a bar that serves food. Any interest?

Might I suggest a few off the beaten path/cool/funky type places?

The Musuem of the New South always struck me as a nice gathering place. I also like the idea of meeting at my favorite park - Jetton. Very laid back. Also the Thirsty Beaver in Plaza Midwood. The patio of The Common Market on a warm evening, chip in for wine? Or, Fuel pizza - any of the locations. Boudreaux's or The Evening Muse? Oh, the Wine Up! Or one of the gallery crawls? Or, come closer to me in Ballantyne and a nice evening of the live jazz in the Stonecrest shopping center with all the shops around if anyone's hungry. OR, a stroll around the Ballantyne Village Theater?

Just some ideas. :)
