The nation that concerns me most in terms of overpopulation is India.
Within the next few years it's population will surpass China's.
But unlike China, India's population explosion isn't being stemmed through government enforced family planning policies.
The Hindu concept of Karma and Reincarnation isn't helping matters either:
The most rapid growth is amongst "low Caste" Indians.
"Caste" is an extremely damaging social construct based on the notion that low/infeior castes are reaping bad karma from a previous life.
This concept makes high caste Indians indifferent to the suffering of low caste Indians as their condition is perceived as punishment for misdeeds in a previous incarnation.
Thus, there is a lack of incentive to help educate and socially elevate the so-called "untouchables". (Which is also why we had a "Mother Theresa of Calcutta" instead of a "high Caste" Brahmin preist helping the poorest of the poor.)
It's funny cuz the population explosion of the 20th Century seems to make the whole concept of reincarnation redundant:
I mean before the 20th Century, the World's population had NEVER reached even *1* Billion souls. By the end of the 20th Century there were over *6* Billion souls on the planet.
Yet according to the Hindu construct of reincarnation, everyone of us has had thousands of previous lives... But where did the other 5 Billion souls come from?!
I suppose we could say the other 5 Billion had been animals in all their previous incarnations.
But then what did the slugs, fleas, chickens and kangaroos of the 20th Century do to earn so much Karma they became human?

Disease is the greatest killer of all. To stop it would mean eradication anyway, do there is little we can do. New diseases crop up all the time, wars continue due to the stupidity and greed of men in high positions. payoffs, murder, etc. It always gets worse with the population increases. Put a bunch in the state of Texas?? Hell most of it is dry wasteland. Try living off the alkaline plains and insects and winds of west Texas. Nobody could live there for very long unless you can make some huge changes of living and tolerate the hatred everywhere. Maybe ignorance is bliss sometimes. In any case, we all die. | |

If people would go door to door and request food items, that would take care of that. We don't have to send money. The oil costs are so high due to demand also, many people buy new cars everyday. America buys a lot of gas. Look at the statistics. I do believe condoms should be distibuted in lots more places, or at least have the cost of them reduced. I believe that they should put the criminals that are locked up for life, to death. Why pay for them to stay alive when they can die? They are going to die anyway, and they should for commiting such horrible crimes. These are just idea's, i don't want to piss anyone off. Just stating that there are solutions to all problems. I also agree with pulling our troops out of the war. Surrender, tell them they won, who cares! Why let anymore of our people die. Going to war is not going to change them, they will still kill. let them kill themselves, not us Americans. There are so many accidental births going on and i think that they should take a course on taking care of babies in the 6th, 7th, 8th grade on. So that they can see that having a baby is a big responsibility, and that it only should be done if it is meant and if you are willing to handle the responsibility. I won't get into abortion, but i don't knock it. Everyone has the right to make their own decisions, and i respect everyone as a human being.
