| Married, Drug users, and SMOKERS?!?!?!!!! Posted: 8/3/2005 2:22:44 PM | I would exlude someone as a possible mate because he was a smoker, most certainly. As for quiting for someone else, I think that unless you are quitting an adiction for your own reasons, and unless they are strong enough reasons, you will have a difficult time. I too dislike disapointing people, but if you ask me to quit something that is an integral part of my life, and an adiction, I had better really want to for my own reasons or I will won't do it. | |

| Married, Drug users, and SMOKERS?!?!?!!!! Posted: 8/3/2005 2:26:46 PM | what if you OK with thin people who smoke but who are only thin because they smoke?
what do you do when they quit and gain a bunch of weight?
would you rather have a gf/bf who is thin but does coke?
seems to me there are much more important things to consider.

| Married, Drug users, and SMOKERS?!?!?!!!! Posted: 8/3/2005 2:27:03 PM | I didnt mean that I would ask her to quit for me but that she would want to quit for her family thus being her reason.
oh and I could never date a person who uses the word "thus" ewwew! LOL

| Married, Drug users, and SMOKERS?!?!?!!!! Posted: 8/3/2005 2:28:31 PM | I set new restrictions on my profile today. I also changed my mail settings so that first contacts are required to have a minimum of 300 characters in the email. Thus, I'll pass on anyone who can't email me. | |
|
| Married, Drug users, and SMOKERS?!?!?!!!! Posted: 8/3/2005 2:36:52 PM | at least 300 characters! wow I'll bet you end up getting mostly long stories about what they want to do to you! I think maybe I'll set a limit of 25. (Hi I'm ------ I like your profile and posts and would like to learn more about you and possibly go out if.) OK make it 100 allowing for a longer name. | |
|
| Married, Drug users, and SMOKERS?!?!?!!!! Posted: 8/3/2005 3:36:08 PM | ^^ I also state in my profile that if the email is sexual it's an automatic block.
btw ... I used "thus" in my previous post just 'cause I know you like it. ;) LOL

Posted: 8/3/2005 3:54:46 PM | Smoking is a habit/nicotine addiction .. it is nothing compared to drugs (e.g., cocaine, heroin, pot, hash) or alcohol ... those substances "change" the person most of the time and rule their life (e.g., the alcoholic will chose to go out and get chit-faced over spending a nice night with their significant other).
Would you pass on someone who drinks coffee? ... It's basically the same thing .. coffee reeks and stains your teeth and ppl get cranky without it ..... hmmmmm

| Married, Drug users, and SMOKERS?!?!?!!!! Posted: 8/3/2005 5:05:08 PM | Pass before you meet folk cause it then looks like the posts saying "I'd never try to change someone" are hypocritical..................
All these posts of if heshe really loves me then they'd change.........
Why do you expect others to change/respect your opinions when you're not going to change/give the same respect to others?

| Married, Drug users, and SMOKERS?!?!?!!!! Posted: 8/3/2005 5:41:07 PM | I don't block anyone, but I don't reply to involved people. My profile says not to bother (yet they still do... and give me this long email with some story...)
If I could choose what I want to block, it would be:
Must not be put off by fat chicks (edit) Must not be put off by weed smoking (edit) Must not be put off by porn watching (edit)
lol

Posted: 8/3/2005 6:44:26 PM | one thing I definitely pass on is people with no pictures or ones that dont show themself. also if you're married or involved stop the BS you're not looking for a member of the opposite sex to hang out with or be friends with. You want to trade up, cheat or get someone to fill a hole in your relationship that should be taken care of by your SO

| Married, Drug users, and SMOKERS?!?!?!!!! Posted: 8/3/2005 7:08:43 PM | I can honestly say that ANYONES standards about a possible mate would go completely out the window lickety split if they were the type of person that was able to truly touch you deep inside where others have not been able too. This can be physically or emotionally an attractive person.
Having a "standard" is ridiculous because each standard is only weighted against ones CHOICES in life. The more choices you have the more you can be tolerant of others faults. And vice versa is true too ;)
I have a preferance for women with nice-shaped butts, this doesnt mean I would not consider women who wouldn't have a nice butt, I would just ask (emphasis on "ask" lol) her if she would consider using the stairmaster a bit because this is what pleases me.
Its amazing what someone may do for you if you ask sincerely and politely.

| Married, Drug users, and SMOKERS?!?!?!!!! Posted: 8/3/2005 7:26:33 PM | | I dont get much of idea behind blocking e-mail because someone I dont want to date may have something interesting to say at first I blocked guys but then changed as I made friends on the forums same for age and location. I think there should be 2 types of e-mail ones to talk and want for dating then in dating you block your must nots. if not how about some preready replies to e-mail such as ~ sorry not interested-does not want children ~and so on you just click the reason for rejection and reply button. | |

| Married, Drug users, and SMOKERS?!?!?!!!! Posted: 8/3/2005 8:05:55 PM | Suggestion...How bout we add ignorant, obese, rude, alcohol dependant and "icky" to that list? ^^^This could get impractical. I don't think many ppl writing their profile would tick the little box next to words such as:
"rude"
"ignorant"
"nauseating"
"ugly"
"nasty to small animals"
I can't see anyone going "Icky? Hmm. Oh yeah, I guess that's me." *tick*
In fact, I don't think 'icky' ppl necessarily *know* they're 'icky'. I don't.

| Married, Drug users, and SMOKERS?!?!?!!!! Posted: 8/3/2005 11:07:30 PM | As for the topic, I dont' really have any "shit list" items to judge people by. Just honesty, and I've overlooked that from time to time and regreted it every time.....oh well. Being an avid smoker, I find that quite a few women who state "No smokers" in their profiles are very willing to make an exception....my take on it is that people are putting their wish lists out there, I for one, have never met a perfect person yet. | |

| Married, Drug users, and SMOKERS?!?!?!!!! Posted: 8/4/2005 10:40:20 AM | | I think it would be cool to have the option in the profile section to have three choices in the "female/male seeks" section, 1) female/ male seeks opposite sex 2) female/male seeks same sex and 3)female/male seeks either sex, but all there seems to be is either seeks man or seeks woman. I am happy to meet all people, not for romance necesarily, but for conversation, possible simmilar interests, adventures in dining, whatever. I do like the idea of two types of email too, one for dating and one for just friends. I'm sure there'd be overlap, but it might be a way to feel more comfortable with who you alow to talk to you. | |
