| How do you define overweight? Posted: 3/28/2006 5:58:11 PM | Most professionals define overweight as having an above "average" (whatever the hell that means anymore) BMI or body mass index. I have a lot of trouble with this chart, everyones shape is different and someone at lets say 180 may look healthy where as another person at 180 may look overweight depends on how they carry it. | |

| How do you define overweight? Posted: 3/28/2006 6:07:43 PM | so what have we learned??? 1) immature guys think girls with loose skin are fat...even if she is 120lbs and is a mom 2)BMI is the law...even if you have the exact same weight as another girl (same hieght to) but she is flat chested and you have DDD boobs 3)Some guys here dont seem to mind there own flab and beer guys...or ignorance 4) If certain guys arent intrested in you...their f*cking loss
I am not a skinny thing anymore and i find i am far more confident now that i have tossed my scale away...and stopped worring about it. I know a guy i am with is mature...likes me as i am and can handle a girl with a little curve to her.
frankly i think you know your fine...you posted several body shots...if you were overwieght would you do that? If its not a health issue your fine on either end of the spectrum...so just love who ya are and stop measuring your sexiness by men

Posted: 3/28/2006 6:44:06 PM | | I'm pretty liberal on this issue because I like a woman with a little meat on her bones but if the ass exceeds that parameter of the chair then ya thats overweight. Sorry its how much the butt hangs over the chair. 1 inch past the chair line is ok but 2 inchs is overweight.

In general people with a fit toned muscle would weight slightly more than a person with very little muscle. and of course your more on the curvy side again would naturally be a little more. It's all in the distribution of weight. I'm only 5'10 but I'm at 190 pounds but I wouldn't look like it cause I work out but according to the weight index im about 10 over.

| How do you define overweight? Posted: 3/29/2006 7:54:46 PM | A guy who's very critical of women and their weight that I know tried to guess mine not long ago, and he was off by over twenty pounds (he guessed lower than it is).
Seriously... we're way too preoccupied with that number. Between the women who obsess over it and men who bark about what they want when they really have no idea what they're talking about, this topic got old a LOOONG time ago.
I always say that if you're so large that you can't take a hike without wheezing and feeling like you're heart is going to explode, you sweat like a pig 24/7, and your heath is crappy it's time to lose weight. If you can do anything that most anyone else can do and you are in good health and you're happy with yourself, don't change for anyone.

some like some dont.
getting hit on doesnt have much to do with weight. It has to do with the image you project. If yer a sad sorry lump when you go out then chances are no one want to talk to you. If yer worried about your image all the time, then people pick up on that sort of vibe too.
do what you love and be happy with yourself.
and stop complaining... you have your health!

| How do you define overweight? Posted: 4/9/2006 8:00:17 AM | | i agree that it's subjective. in asian countries, i'm a size large and they keep telling me to lose weight. in north america, i'm considered average or petite. go figure. | |

That would be one. But also, if your stomach sticks out farther than your chest, if you inseam is shorter than your waist measurement... Those BMI charts are actually fairly close, and they do provide a RANGE not just an exact number. And if you hate looking at those charts, try having your son the professional trainer start pinching you and such in a restaurant over dinner. (I looked at him like he was insane and asked, "What are you doin' pinchin' your ma like that.") He pulls out calipers about then, and starts doing math. His sister and I are just looking at each other across the table by now wondering what the heck is going on or if he is finally losing his mind. He finally looks at me with a stunned look of amazement and pops off with, "Man, you are lean!" After I could stop laughing, and resume normal breathing, yeah, his sister and I both just fell apart laughing so hard, "Does that mean you're buying desert?"

| How do you define overweight? Posted: 4/9/2006 10:55:20 AM | Years ago, while driving through Georgia, I saw an employment ad for their highway patrol. The ad stated they insisted that men be smaller in diameter at the waist than their chest.
For guys, if your belly exceeds your chest, you're overweight.

And body fat % is very different for men and women. Women require a higher percentage than men for basic body functions.

| How do you define overweight? Posted: 4/10/2006 7:40:01 AM | | My daughter is at that age when the girls are starting to get chesty. She is noticing that the ones who have the bras first are also the ones who have their bellies bulging out over the top of their jeans, so I told her, "Boobs are basically fat. The fatter you are, the bigger they get. That is why most gymnists are so flat." She decided she would rather be slim overall than join the chesty chubbies. | |

Ok, guess I should interject that most of us couldn't see our feet during pregnancy. I mean what chance did I have? They are only a size 2 1/2 in kids and at a whopping 62" tall I was about 50" around by the 8th month But hey, I was back into a size 3 levis in 3 months after delivering, so my shoes matched again.

| How do you define overweight? Posted: 4/10/2006 9:16:08 AM | | chesty chubbies?? nice...sorry but i have to seriously disagree...when i was 15 i was 115lbs with DD boobs...you could see my hipbones.. i could even hang umbrellas off them...genetics were very good to me..I cant imagine ever letting my daughter think that having a normal female body makes her chubby | |
|
| How do you define overweight? Posted: 4/10/2006 10:35:20 AM | i am a little chubby or at least i'm bigger then most of my friends but its never bothered me the way i see it is i make chub look good lol

| How do you define overweight? Posted: 4/10/2006 5:35:45 PM | I use to be overweight by about 60lbs...went to the doctor one time and she told me not to worry about it so much because everyones body is not the same....He attitude, and she was a very small dr, if you are healthy...that is the keyword....dont fret over it....losing a few pounds is good but according to her many people lose weight and become very sick....
I did take my time and lost 45lbs but it was mostly due to stress....I have 15 more to go and cant get rid of it....apparently when your body gets to where it is happiest you have a hard time getting rid of the rest that you think you need to...
Hey, who cares if you are a toothpick or if you are heavy, as long as you HAVE NO HEALTH PROBLEMS because of it. Be proud of who you are. True beauty is what is on the inside not the outside...
I do have one pet peeve with people who are overweight...."Try not to wear clothes that show off that weight, actually same goes for people who are to skinny....emphasis the positives like your good looks or nice feet....."

| How do you define overweight? Posted: 4/11/2006 7:36:28 AM | "when i was 15 i was 115lbs with DD boobs...you could see my hipbones" You are what is called genetically gifted, and an exception to the rule. Do you get tired of people thinking they are fake? I know that I hate it when people pull on my hair thinking I have extensions, or the incredible idiots who have tried to pull my eyelashes thinking they were too. Biggest reason I hate all that fake stuff. These days people assume even real is fake, just because there is so much of it these days. And I do agree, the BMI chart alone is not the law. You get a much more accurate measure when you have a rotten kid who knows how to use those calipers. However, it isn't exactly pleasant to have him pinching you like that. | |
