| Capital Punishment~ for or against? Posted: 5/11/2009 2:18:51 PM | I can not morally be for Capital Punishment and against Abortion so I say no to both. In one case innocents could posibly die and in the other, innocents certainly die.

I have aways thought that capital punishment is such a hypocritical way of solving the problems ... I have no problem with capital punishment as long there is no question ... eye witnesses, confession, DNA matches, video coverage ... it has to be 100% ...
AND ...
The crime has to merit it. | |

| Capital Punishment~ for or against? Posted: 5/12/2009 5:21:38 AM | but eye witness accounts have been demonstrated again and again to be about the worst evidence, DNA evidence can be compromised (and unless you have the money to bring in experts to challenge the evidence you are screwed), and i don't know about you but i've seen plenty of grainy-blurry video surveillance clips that are no help in identifying anything let alone the perpetrator of a crime.
our system is set up such that we would rather let 100 guilty men go free rather then see one innocent man punished for a crime he didn't do. humans are prone to witch hunts, and can not be trusted with the power of life and death.
i am for life in prison for all crimes. i do not take the rehabilitation view of incarceration as some do. i see a prison as a means of keeping a criminal apart from the law abiding population and nothing more. when we start executing people we have crossed a line. at that point it becomes an act of revenge.
